The cabin was very small, but that is what you will get for this price in expensive Venice. The aircon was too cold the first night, but finally turned to a heater the next night..one benefit is that there is direct bus service to venice island from outside the hostel.

I always want to be positive on Tripadvisor but impossible with this experience. This is basically a stop over for back packers and inter-railers and it is perfect for them. I would not recommend anyone with kids to stay. The shop was bad and understaffed, the reception was unfriendly and looked as if everything was a pain. The lunch in the bar was really bad. The dinner was ok but not great and the service was awful. There was one member of staff who smiled everyone else looked fed up. There is no kids pool or table tennis (it said there was). The noise at night times is appalling as it is all teens wanting to get hammered and party which is fine if you are a teen but my 11 year old really didn't need to hear the chant "you f***ed up" over and over again for about an hour while a drinking game went on. you would think with teens you would at least get a lie-in but they were all up at 6am to move on to the next place. You do get what you pay for and this was cheap. The huts were joined together and you could hear everything next door and the whole place shook when the 4 over-excited girls next door were jumping around. It was also not great when one of them decided at 6am she was not feeling too great and was very poorly, how do I know? I hear it all. Four nights was a mistake. One or two would have been more than enough. The bus to Venice was the best thing and easy to sort out. I would recommend to any 18-21 year old but not to anyone with kids. sorry to be negative but the same company's site in Rome was great.

Room Tip: we asked for a quiet room and that was ignored.

Worst first.
Drunk kids making noise until around 1am.
No fridge in our cabin.
Slug in the bathroom.
The shuttle bus does not pick up where it drops off. Be aware. Not far away but easily missed by the inexperienced.
Tried to explain this to reception but got only back chat and confrontation.
Asked for a safe deposit box infront of reception, girl said there weren't any even though they were mostly empty, asked someone else and got one straight away.

Good stuff.
Restaurant Al Calesse 5 minutes walk away is excellent and very cheap. Gorgeous pizza from €5 and a litre of red wine for €7.
Pool area is very good.

Not bad, but also no wooows. For overnight by way to the south it is fairly OK, but spending there more time is not a good idea - it is very crowdy and noisy and like now in July every day huge groups of very loud and noisy teenager groups come and go and drinking enormously in the evenings.

The restaurant is OK and prices are reasonable, food is fine, breakfasts are also pretty OK - some toasts, cheese flakes and yoghurt are always available.
We stayed in a house for 4-5 persons, with two dorms and bathrooms and a kitchen - unfortunately very poorly equipped. Still, the meals could be prepared there.

The shuttle is a very good idea, just going directly to tronchetto (there is no need to take train, just a few steps to the right from the bus stop are the vaporetto (water tram) stops. Shuttle costs 5Euro (return ticket), better to book in 1-2 days advance.

The pool is nice but small and during the day there is hardly a chance for sunbed.

Room Tip: alk for chalets as far as possible from the pool and restaurant, otherwise no sleep guaranteed.

We were backpacking in Italy and chose to stay at PLUS Camping Jolly for three nights whilst we visited Venice. We stayed in a 3 person tent, consisting of a bunk bed and a single bed. The walk from Venice Mestre is quite far, but didn't take much more than half an hour (better that than pay for a taxi!)

We stayed in June, but the nights were very cold. It's also worth noting that as we were staying in a tent, we could hear everything outside (perhaps avoid the tent if you're a light sleeper). We were woken up on a couple of mornings by builders laying a concrete base, it was early in the morning (7am-ish). This was unfortunate, but obviously it doesn't happen all year round, so don't let it affect your decision to stay!

We did not pay a lot at all for our stay here, we wanted to pay as little as we could for accommodation. We found this place to be excellent value for money.

As for the facilites, the pool was great and clean (seemed to be open all the time!). The pool side bar and restaurant were good, food and drink was cheap. The reception was always quite busy, especially at check-out times. The campsite did have wifi, but you could only get a signal if you were near the hotspot(s), if not, there were five or six computers in reception that were free to use.

The tents felt safe to leave our backpacks in during the day whilst we visited Venice. We did make use of the lockers in reception (bring your own lock) for 1 euro a day.

Positives:
- Excellent value for money!
- Good, clean facilities
- Restaurant was nice (fairly cheap)

Negatives:
- Tents are not sound-proof at all (not sure what we were expecting though!)

All in all, had a great stay here. Lots of backpackers like ourselves were staying here at the time of our visit.

We stayed here for two nights with a tour in our own tents. The bathrooms were dirty due to people walking around after swimming- so the floor was quite wet and muddy all the time. There was free hot water and wifi so that's good.
It was quite far from the canal city of Venice as most of the affordable places are. The closest bus stop is about 20-25min away. They have a shuttle that doesn't run until late at night and you also had to buy a people-mover ticket on top of the shuttle ticket to get across one of the canals.

There are far worse camping places in Europe. The plus chain has is usually better than others.

We love this camp and go there for the third time. There are only two things: numerous bungalows are very close to the night time disco and the wifi is unfortunately very weak but we will return :) thx
