“Umm... shock horror initially”

Booked by booking.com an hour before arrival before doing a drive past first! Ordinary, unwelcoming looking hotel with its own campsite next door situated in a what can only be described as situated on a busy holiday village maze of roads within pine tree areas- I believe close to a beach, but never looked as couldn't wait to leave area. That said, the roof was a nice place to sit for half hour after breakfast. On arrival I was told we were lucky to have the last two rooms ( the one next to me was empty?) The rooms were very basic, the shower bathroom very small and tired. The Italian couple next door could be heard easily. The double bed was very small - lucky I was on my own. Wasn't overly confident with the blanket- always take my own pillow!- Air con wouldn't work so had to find owner and to my surprise under persuasion came to look (I'm now convincing myself sitting in the car all night with air con on all night would be preferable!) and offered to change rooms! (not next door!) Another mysteriously available room!
Thankfully this air con worked, better bathroom but no mini bar. had TV but limited. Car park other side of the road under trees - a bit worrying leaving a Porsche . However, first class breakfast, plenty of variety and quantity. Friendly owner. Would I stay here again - probably not but would call in for breakfast!

Room Tip: Not sure if they exist- I would have preferred the roof terrace with a fan

We loved Hotel Rosmarina. The service, ease of parking, proximity to a clean, well maintained beach, clean and comfortable room made this a destination which we will return to.
The experience was enhanced during the World Cup because we were able to watch the games in a room while enjoying the service of the barista.
The beach opposite the hotel was the best we have been on along the coast, to date . In addition, we were in close driving distance to the charming town of Castiglione della Pescaia, allowing us to have dinner at Trattoria Toscana in Loc. Baldiola, a very special experience.
We also love Osteria del Mare in the town of Castiglione della Pescaia.
In addition, if you are interested in history, there are ruins across the street which may provoke you to ask about them or google. It deepened our understanding of a small period in the history of the world.
We plan on returning next year.

The owner is a very nice lady who did what she could to make our stay pleasant. The hotel is located on the small road just opposite a very nice beach. Most of the rooms, therefore, have a good view from their balcony.

The rooms are small, but spotless and equipped with a good bed, bathroom and wi-fi. The continental breakfasts are good and the terrace on the fourth floor has great views.

Not exciting, but a good, solid choice. My wife and her friend both gushed over the owner's son - in their opinion, a real hunk.

This is a good, solid hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, clean and nice rooms and a fantastic roofterrace where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset and feel that you float on cloads of green pines. The building is not very exciting, nor are the rooms, but the concept is nice: This is an old fashion beach hotel where you can mingle with italian couples from 30 to 90, combined with a few american families with grumpy teenage daughters, and one ore two excentric italian men on their own. I liked the old fashioned conscept of mezzopensione: You can have breakfast and dinner with the same clientele, mingle or observe. Breakfast was good, dinner was excellent: Just enough choises and the courses were just the right size so you could enjoy all of them.

But: Except for the hotel: I didn´t like Marina di Grosseto at all. This is an overcrowded beachresort with nothing special to offer. It could be a very good place to stay if you want to be at the coast and have the possibility to go to Giglio, Pisa, Livorno, Volterra etc. The reason I rate this hotel very good is: Very nice staff, a strange, oldfashioned concept, my two dinners were very good, and the roof terrace gave me beautiful views and sunsets.

It is years since go for business or pleasure in the Grosseto region and I always end up considering the Hotel Restaurant Rosmarina as the best. Management (mother and son) is impeccable, friendly and transmits joy and peace. The light and the colors are particularly well selected: perfect for relaxing. Chairs and tablecloths satin cream-colored dining room, lots of plants and flowers, large windows. In the breakfast room pure white in the bright and spacious hall flooded with light and green inside and out side: the tops of the pine trees framed by windows, a giant white orchid with 10 branches, a large ficus benjamin, many other plants, paintings by good level authors, made my day full of beauty. Combination of quality, healthy and local products: the breakfast cream "budving" for the "defense of the immune system" (with recipe), cakes, breads and fresh homemade jam, croissants, Tuscan cheese and ham, ”bruschetta” with fresh tomatoes, herbal teas of all types and may other classic products are offered.
The landscape in itself on 'the fifth floor provides a unique view, from a large terrace, surrounded by a carpet of green velvet as far as eyes can see (they are the tops of the pine trees) and then, in addition to the green, the sea in front, on the right Mount Uccellina, on the left the mountains behind Castiglione and Rocchette and, behind, the Amiata mountain . The room with blue satin elegant decorations yellow-gold made me feel a discreet and welcoming luxury,.
The owners and all the staff, always friendly and smiling, convey joy. It seems to me that employees are all female . If it's a choice or a case, however, I do not know, It adds, in any case, to the feeling of harmony and welcome. The “chef”- who is also a women- uses local and traditional ingredients, and you feel that they are genuine. She combines them into a very tasty (during winter she makes cooking classes for the public, at the hotel!!! I hope, when I retire, I can go). In the half board menu I had a difficult choice between the lasagne with radicchio and sausages or triangles with truffles and shrimp; or between the sea bream baked or small cuttlefish with fresh green small beans never seen before and very delicate, and I ended up with a tasty sour cream and lemon with puree of fresh strawberries which was, unexpectedly, very light. The aperitif was offered by the owners of the restaurant and the wines are of a very good standard.

My husband and I stayed here one night after a long journey. The rooms are very very small . Very basic , and a view of the trees. We looked to see what time dinne was it was only 8pm to 8.30pm which I thought was bizarre especially for Italy. The bathroom was so small you could hardly get out of it!! They did however have a safe free car park opposite you could use. No room service available so we went out for dinner to a place recommended by the hotel. Breakfast was also interesting as if you like cake for breakfast you were in paradise ! I have never seen such a poor buffet breakfast especially when the room wasn't cheap. It was made up of around 5 homemade cakes , a few hard pieces of bread and not much . We were very disappointed that you to lay your own table also fr breakfast! What??? Would NOT stay there again !!
