We stumbled across this restaurant when wandering about in Marina di Pietrasanta and decided to try it. Wonderful welcome on entering and excellent service. A dish of freshly fried "panzanelle" suddenly appeared on the table while we were looking at the menu. Panzanelle in Tuscany are miniature versions of the "crescentini" in Bologna or the "gnocco fritto" in Modena. Delicious. We decided upon the warm seafood as a starter "antipasto di mare" followed by a delicious fish stew "cacciucco" with a home-baked crust over it. The sliced tuna steaks lightly seared with sesame seeds were also very tasty indeed. How could such an excellent meal be complete without a "dolce"? The Chantilly cream with crispy snaps and fresh raspberries and strawberries was absolutely wonderful. The house white wine (a local vermentino) was surprisingly good but seemed to evaporate. The bill was the only mediocre aspect of our dinner at "Il Pineto" - very good value for money.
