We walked in to Trattoria da Pino when they opened at 7:45pm without a reservation, and the restaurant gradually filled with locals and friends of locals during the course of our meal. We sampled the antipasti bar which offered cool food (zucchini, beans with tuna, eggplant, fried mushrooms, etc), and also tried the pasta and the fish. Choosing from a plate of fresh fish and ordering it cooked exactly how we liked was something you don't normally get to do- even in Italy.
While all the food was good - the antipasti definitely is something special relative to other restaurants we've tried in the south of Italy.
Staff spoke some English, but were very pleasant and understanding of our poor Italian language skills.
