An oasis. Thankfully out of main town but lovely view of harbour. Staff couldn't be nicer. Especially Sandra at reception. Old fashioned glamour boutique hotel. No noisy crowds, no noisy kids. Close to wineries to do the Marsala tasting

From the splendid entrance this boutique hotel really is impressive!
Lovely grounds and well looked after communal areas, very welcoming and friendly staff, especially our receptionist Sandra.
We stayed for our anniversary celebration, they kindly upgraded our room. Not only this they also wrote us a card and presented us with sweet wine and treats when we got to our room, it was wonderful.
Our room was gorgeous, and the bathroom very clean.
The breakfast was delicious and a range of foods to choose from. It is a short drive from the centre or 20minute walk of which we enjoyed! We highly recommend it.

We had a comfortable room in the annex. The hotel staff were all friendly and helpful. The woman on reception was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We forgot to bring a UK/Italy adapter plug and she searched one out and had somebody deliver it to our room.

As we stayed out of season the hotel was very quiet - some days we did not see another guest. Because it was not busy the restaurant was not open in the evenings. This was fine most days as there are several good places to eat in town. However one night it was raining heavily and the 10-15 minute walk to the city centre suddenly seemed very long. There is a supermarket round the corner on Sebastiano Lipari street. Breakfast was ok but we would have preferred more savoury choices as there is a heavy emphasis on sweet dishes.

There was plentiful parking and it was easy to drive in and out of the city compared to hotels in more central locations.

The Hotel looks great when you arrive, rooms are large and well appointed, reception grand and the pool area lovely. The breakfast buffet was dominated by sweet cakes but you could find fruit, yoghurt and bread and jam and decent coffee if you asked for it. Dinner was served in separate building across the courtyard. There were 30 of us in the group on a wine tasting trip and it was good that we had been given examples of the local tapas with the excellent tastings as the food served to us by the hotel was not typical of Sicilian cuisine. Worse than school dinners, cold pasta, potatoes and risotto, claggy veal, sausages, indescribeable fish of some sort, grapes for dessert. The house wine was just about drinkable and the cost of drinks at the bar extortionate(10 euros for a gin and tonic!). It is a good 15minute walk into Marsala along mainly broken pavements and quite busy roads. We had a great holiday but it would have been so much better being based at a different hotel. It might have 5 stars but it does not deserve them.

We have just come back from sicily at the above hotel.
The hotel is situated 1 and half hours from palermo airport, dont get a taxi they wanted 140 euros! we hired a car for all 5 days for only 260 euros.
On arival it looked impressive and once in the front reception desk, lovely looking, room also great but on trying to book the restaurant we were told they only do breakfast and that is ok if you like stale cake!!
No were was open! and the restaurants we did go to the food was poor and service shocking! the whole place was pretty dirty!!
The saviour was the weather and the pool, when we finally found the waiter the 2 bottles of beer cost us 8 euros each!
we would not be going back

We had an amazing stay, everybody was incredibly friendly and the area is lovely, whilst there isn't a huge amount to do immediately around the hotel, it makes for a peaceful environment and transport is really easy to organise if you do want to go further a field, the pool is gorgeous and the choice of food is massive and delicious

Room Tip: Rooms for three are available and these have a double bed and a single bed, great option for familie...

I was not sure what to expect based on some of the reviews. Lucky for us we booked any way. This was by far our best hotel stay in Sicily (our other hotels were 5 star). The hotel itself was regal, our children loved the pool, our room was well appointed & comfortable. The service was beyond compare. Sandra went above & beyond to make our short stay truly spectacular. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her! She is the best. In fact, all of our interactions with hotel staff were excellent. We truly look forward to returning to the New Palace.
