Had a great lunch today at Lo Scoglio. Fresh Calamari, Octopus salad, Seafood Risotto were all outstanding and good value compared to many places on the Amalfi Coast. Will definitely go again given the chance...

We stayed at lo Scoglio in may for three nights. Although we could have gone anywhere that a tourist would want to go (Positano or Capri), we decided to not leave the hotel as this was the end of our European excursion and we needed some R&R. The family is just Beautiful-both inside and out. Their food was exceptional (fresh EVERYTHING) and our room was CLEAN (and I am very picky)! We were RIGHT ON the beach-perfection. I would highly recommend lo Scoglio to anyone considering a trip to the Amalfi Coast.

Arrived by boat for lunch. That was a great experience in itself but the food was really excellent. Extremely generous portions which we just couldn't do justice to. Service was a little slow but the restaurant was packed. Beautiful views from the restaurant meant that we didn't mind waiting. An enjoyable couple of hours. Well recommended and delighted to have visited.

We took a little boat from our hotel in Positano yesterday and were welcomed with open arms by Antonia for the most delicious lunch imaginable. A family run set up, they use the freshest of ingredients straight from the sea and vegetables which are grown on the father's farm. The broad beans were to die for as was the zuccini spaghetti... Just make sure you go hungry!

Didn't stay in hotel - but had great lunch off of a boat we'd rented for the day from Sorrento. Wonderful laid-back location over the sea, delicious fresh seafood and pasta, all served by friendly people. Only let-down for us was the wine - we mistakenly ordered half carafe of house white - which was pretty unpleasant. But for that - would have given five star rating. All in all, still lovely.

Hotel Lo Scoglio is so beautiful! A family run hotel, in a really special place, right on the beach! Everyone is so friendly the food in the restaurant is amazing - so fresh, they have tanks with mussels, clams and fish. The rooms are nice, not luxurious but really clean and quaint. Beautiful balconies that look out over the bay. The water is so clean and inviting. I love this hotel and will return every year. There isn't a lot to do except relax as it is a very small place - but the sun beds are included (not like Sorrento or Positano where you have to pay an arm and a leg) and you can rent a boat and do trips to Capri etc if you want - but honestly just lazing on the beach and relaxing is the best. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the second floor have larger balconies.

Arriving late (10:30pm) direct from bustling Madrid, Marina del Cantone was initially a shock – almost everything was in darkness, including the hotel! But with a little effort we roused someone to show us to our room and promptly crashed.
In the morning, the sun was shining, the waves rolled gently on shore, and there was little to do but break out the swimming gear, grab a book, and head down to the beach lounges for the morning. Perfect!
Lo Scoglio is better known as a restaurant and for good reason. The food was by far the best we had in Italy with superb fresh fish and homemade pasta and fantastic salads. There may not be a lot to do here, but in reality, you don't need to go anywhere else if you don't want to.
The family that run the hotel and restaurant are very relaxed and helpful – nothing is a problem for them (except understanding my Australian accent!).
A tip for travellers – allow a good two hours travelling time from Naples airport. A taxi ride will cost at least 100 Euro, so if you plan to catch the train to Sorrento first, make sure you don't arrive too late in the day.

Room Tip: All rooms have a private deck and great view.
