“Exactly as we had hoped”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

Villa Caprile deserves its excellent rating. Staying in June 2014 for five nights we enjoyed our room with its large shaded terrace, looking towards Capri, and Ischia to the right.

We arrived late after a long drive, and followed the Villa Caprile signs, and discovered the next morning we were closer to Santa Agata than we had thought. We have stayed in this area three times, and thought our location at Villa Caprile good for Nerano, Marina del Cantone and Massa. Sorrento was also an easy drive, and it's worth remembering a car is very useful here in providing independence and access to more remote places.

Our room was clean, cool and typical of a small restaurant with rooms. Breakfasts were generous, and varied from day to day with regard to egg dishes and pastries, and delicious preserves. We ate on the terrace, and were looked after well by Pasquale. He and his wife work very hard and put in long hours, and took time to give us local info. We ate from the main menu, and were pleased with the individual preparation of each choice, having fish, pasta, pizza and salad during our stay. We thought that the food preparation and presentation was better than more expensive restaurants which we have visited over the years in this locality.

The pool is open to residents between restaurant opening hours, which is clearly stated on the web site. Over the weekend the restaurant was busy, but we were not disturbed by people coming and going. Parking on site is safe and secure, with each guest being provided with a remote gate opener.

It is obviously quieter in the hills, and a little cooler in the evenings than on the coast, so if it is the Sorrento busyness you want you need to stay in Sorrento. If you want traditional Italian cooking, simple and clean rooms and good service Villa Caprile would suit you well. We will certainly return for another short stay when we visit this part of Italy again. This year we have since moved on to Ischia for five days.

Room Tip: Look carefully on the booking sites and choose the superior rooms for the terrace and view.

This is a place you definitely can visit and is highly recommended to all who are planning to visit Naples and Salerno Gulf (Naples, Sorrento, Capri and Amalfi coast). Pasquale and his family are very good host, very friendly and helpful. Their restaurant and food are amazing, you should try.
Accomodation is fully adequate, specially rooms with terasse and wonderfull view on both - Gulf, Capri in front and Ishia.
Definitely one of the best destinations for visiting Campania.

Room Tip: rooms on the south side with big terrase and view on Capri.

This is THE place to be when you're visiting this region. Pasquale was a good host and very warm and helpful. He also has a very good restaurant in which he serves good meals for lunch and dinner. The lunch offered to us when we arrived was overwelming. He gave us the best dishes and they where all perfect! You can also go here for a fine pizza if you want too. The swimmingpool is also very fine. Only opened when the restaurant is closed. The viewes from your room are wonderful. Pasquale can arrange a booking for a boat to have a look at sea (Capri). This is a good day to see the wonderful surroundings! We went there with a family of 5 and our children had an own room with 3 separate beds. The balcony was small. Overall this was a place we would go back as soon as we could. This region has the best food in Italy! Do try to visit Miracapri (Termini) for lunch (take all... very nice and cheap) or in the evening at "Mama": Via Roncanto 5 (Termini) Looks a lot like staying at a local family, try the pasta ""di mama"! Bellisima. Thanks Pasquale! You will see us again. Special greets from Charlotte.

Room Tip: Perfect location for a family of 5! Just ask for an extra bed.

There were 10 of us on the vacation (two couples and 4 teenagers and 2 tweens) and everyone agreed that this was this favorite place that we stayed on our vacation (yes, it even beat out the Sorrento Hilton). The hospitality and kindness of Pasquale and his sweet family were amazing. We were treated like family and dinner was delicious!! When we arose in the morning the smell of fresh baked chocolate croissants (cornetti) and with the cornetti came homemade jam, a splendid variety of fresh fruits, meats, cheeses, and a variety of other fresh, homemade treats. Pasquale helped me research options for Capri spending well over half of an hour helping me plan my trip. He wrote us an excellent map to our next location. I can't say enough good things about our experience. I will definitely go again. I only thing is that the mattresses are not the most comfortable, but still not bad. The views are truly stunning and the experience can not be beat in my opinion and it was my third trip to the region.

Room Tip: This is a great location to take two or possibly three families and rent the entire villa. Every ro...

My wife and I had booked Sorrento for her birthday, I wanted something a bit special for her so armed with Trip-advisor I checked for restaurants and the number 1 was “Ristorante Don Pedro”. I emailed them requesting a booking for Sunday 9th June. Tony replied saying that they were closed (had no roof) and would not be able to accommodate us; but they could at their “Location B” (Villa Caprile) which was run by his cousin. They also arranged to collect and return us to our hotel in Sorrento. We were picked up by Tony and his girlfriend Francesca and driven up into the mountains where we were greeted by Pasquale the owner with a glass of Prosecco. The Prosecco was sipped overlooking some of the most breath taking scenery around as we had views of both the islands of Ischia and Capri. We did not see the menu, nor did we need to; we were simply asked what we liked, meat or fish and red or white wine. My wife opted for the meat and white wine, I the fish and red (I know it’s meant to be the other way but I like red). We spent the next four and bit hours eating and drinking some of the best wine and food we’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing, mixed seafood starter for me followed by pasta with lobster then a local fish as a main; My wife a Mixed cold meat selection, followed by Ravioli then a beautiful fillet steak; all the while Pasquale being the ever attentive host ensuring we wanted for nothing. Dessert even came with a lit candle in the shape of my wife’s age. This was all finished off with Limoncello which was presented in a small square bottle and little tankards after two of these bottles Pasquale introduced us to Fennelcello, wow! As for the cost, wow again, I could not believe the excellent value. We were then chauffeured home again by Tony. Both my wife and I enjoy fine dining and have frequented Michelin Star Restaurants and believe me Villa Caprile would certainly give them a run for their money! This is a family run venture using their own grown produce from the grounds. They all worked together and for us made a Special night perfect in every way. Thank you, we will be back!

My wife and I visited this fantastic restaurant during a recent holiday to Sorrento. It had been recommended to us by the owners of another restaurant where our daughter had her wedding reception two years ago. We were picked up by the owner's son at our hotel in Sorrento and after a 15 minute drive we arrived at the restaurant. We were given a very warm welcome and asked if we would like a table inside or outside the restaurant. We chose the latter and had the most amazing views of Capri, Ichia and the Gulfs of Salerno and Naples. The views were simply breathtaking but were more than matched by the quality of food. We were shown the fish and lobster that were to be prepared for our meal and when each course duly arrived we were blown away by the quality and taste. The desserts were also out of this world and chocoholics will be spoilt for choice. All of this was accompanied by wonderful wine and homemade limoncello. Afterwards we were driven back down to Sorrento feeling that we had just experienced the perfect ending to a great holiday. Our thanks to Pasquale and Angelo for their hospitality, superb food and for making the evening so special. We thoroughly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting the region and we will definitely return when we holiday in Sorrento again.

Upon our arrival at Villa Caprile seemed something wrong with our booking. This was within minutes professionally resolved by the owner Signor Pasquale, who together with his wife Louisa and his children the restaurant and the relay Villa Caprile runs. Nothing but praise. It is a lovely place to explore the Sorrento Peninsula and the Amalfi Coast. The island of Capri should not be missed. From the relay is left overlooking the bay of Salerno, right the Bay of Naples and Capri Island right ahead. Breakfast is Italian but more than enough. A variety of sweet treats. Dinner at the restaurant Villa Caprile is of exceptional quality. Every day Pasquale surprises you with first class food with matching wine. Nothing is too much for these people. Bring and pick up the bus to visit the Amalfi Coast and organize a boat trip to Capri at competitive price are two examples. Louisa takes care of the cleaning spacious rooms with private bathrooms and airconditioning. Only tribute. Every day your bathroom gets cleaned. Three times a week bed linen change and fresh towels. Who is looking for a nice place where the customer also is king in high season, should definitely consider visiting Villa Caprile.
