“Great apartment, very helpful owner.”
Reviewed 26 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Great location, far less busy than Sorrento area. Apartment is of high standard, with lovely pool, views and garden area in particular. Catches lovely evening breeze with great view of sunset. Only drawback is access drive, so wouldn't recommend if not good driver with a small car (but wouldn't recommend driving in Italy if not a good driver with a small car!). I would definitely visit again. Owner very helpful with ideas of things to do.

“Perfect Villa for a relaxing stay in Italy”
Reviewed 20 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We're a family of 4 (two teenage boys aged 16 & 17) who stayed in the ground floor apartment at Villa Erca. The Villa is a wonderful place in a beautiful location - views through olive trees out to the Bay of Naples (you can almost see Capri). The gardens are very well kept and the pool is a very clean - it's also perfect for cooling off or an early morning swim! The two hammocks near the pool are mostly in the shade and offer a great place to relax and read out of the heat of the sun. The garden is equipped with a coal fired bbq and a pizza oven along with several seating areas which make it perfect for enjoying a beautiful sunset with a meal and a glass (or two) of wine.
The apartment itself is well equipped and has a lot of character - I've listed below each room
Subterranean Kitchen - Well equipped and cool - ideal for early morning breakfasts out of the sun! The sink is even embedded into a huge rock!
Lounge/Dinning room - Large spacious area with a large table, comfy sofas and tv
Bedroom one - Big room with large windows that open fully (with shutters to give you a view of the gardens).
Bedroom two - Quite small for two teenagers and equipped with beds that my teenage boys (who can sleep on anything) described as not the comfiest. Access directly outside.
Bathroom - Small and a little unusual as the shower is in with the toilet but perfectly adequate for a family of four - there is also a shower and toilet by the pool. NB The lock on the toilet door in the villa is very hard to unlock from the inside, we'd recommend not locking as you could get stuck!
Access - The road to the villa is very narrow and steep with several hairpin bends that even the locals can't round in one go. We had a Fiat 500L which was too large to drive comfortably - we'd recommend a Fiat Panda or parking in Schiazzano which is a 10 minute walk - the drive will take you at least 5 minutes and you'll arrive at the villa with your nerves jangling!
Beatrice is a great host and will help you with booking local trips and discovering the local area.
I've added Villa Erca to Google Maps - here's the link https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@40.6011068,14.341103,206m/data=!3m1!1e3
NB -Remember mosquito spray.

“Beautiful, relaxing poolside villa apartment in Campania.”

To begin with I want to say a big "Thank You" to Beatrice, the owner of Villa Erca for helping to make our stay so great. Very welcoming and helpful, made us feel right at home.

We stayed in the Giardino apartment which sleeps up to 7, the big doors open out to a little coffee table, perfect for breakfast, in the beautifully kept garden where there is the pool.

The apartment is was easily big enough, with only 4 of us there was plenty of room. It has a big lounge and dining area with a large table that can easily seat 8 people.

The decor and furniture is classic rustic Italian and gives the place a lovely character. The whole apartment was very comfortable and homely with lovely big windows which made the most of the Italian sunshine and warm breezes.

The pool area was spotless and well cared for and is shared with another small holiday apartment in the same villa, but even when we were all out at the same time there was always plenty of space, everyone enjoyed the peaceful relaxed atmosphere.

There was an covered outdoor seating area with a dining table, chairs, outdoor wicker lounge furniture and a hammock which our boys loved. Next to it was an outdoor cooking area with a gas burner and a brick built charcoal fire pizza oven! Which I definitely plan on using the next time I go!

Finding the place is not a problem as Beatrice met us in the nearby village and we followed her to the property. The only downside was the access, it was along a very twisty and steep track, a big car would have problems We hired a Peugeot 3008 and that was a squeeze in some places, anything bigger would have a problem. Most of the time we parked in Schiazzano, the nearest village, 5-10 minutes walk depending on which you're going, we didn't actually mind it too much, but you will need a torch if you're going back in the dark.

Anyway, that definitely hasn't put us off as we are planning to go back next year. It's a gem that's tucked out of the way in the Italian countryside among the olive groves, we loved it.
