My family and I are 10 nights into a 11 night stay at the hotel Delfino and we are thoroughly enjoying our stay. I'm sat on the balcony in my room overlooking the fabulous views of the island of Capri taking some shelter from the midday sun, and I'll also be sat here later with a cold beer watching what will be yet another breathtaking sunset.

First impressions of the hotel on arrival were very positive; lovely, clean and very bright with very welcoming staff who really love to help. Although we initially though the hotel was a little too far from the centre of Sorrento, the shuttle bus removes this concern running every two hours so making Sorrento easily accessible, as to walk the 6 miles on the roads would be a little scary, even dangerous.

Positives: breathtaking views if you pay for a sea view, friendly and helpful staff, nice food, relaxing location away from the hustle & bustle of the crowded city, lovely pool area with plenty of sun beds for chilling days, reasonably priced drinks.

If I am being very picky to give a rounded view my negatives; having seen the rooms without a sea view they are quite small, poky and dark so a sea view a must in my opinion, very tiny shower, a hard mattress which is purely down to my preference for a soft mattress.

Everything considered, this is a nice hotel, which I would consider good value in a pleasant location to see the Sorrento and the surrounding area and you will have a fabulous holiday should you chose to stay here.

I would certainly stay here again if I chose to return to Sorrento.

Room Tip: A room with a sea view an absolute must!!

We have just returned from staying at Hotel Delfino. From the first time we saw the hotel on a holiday website and reading the reviews we just had to book there. From stepping in the hotel we were really impressed. Everything about it was amazing from the reception to the rooms and the views are spectacular. The waiters in the dining room gave an excellent service and always so pleasant and courteous they made the evening feel that bit more special. This was our first time in Italy and it will not be our last. We did the trip to the Amalfi coast, had a day out in Sorrento, went to Pompeii and Vesuvius and also went on the boat trip to Capri. The trip to the Almalfi coast is a must the views are spectacular. Our compliments to all who are involved in running this wonderful hotel. Thank you so much for a spectacular holiday and we look forward to returning soon.

Room Tip: A sea view room is a must

We were impressed by the photos of this hotel on the website and in the brochure - and found it to be even better in reality! The location is amazing with views of Capri from many parts of the hotel. The staff in the hotel are all very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make your stay special. The rooms are comfortable and kept very clean.
The pool area has plenty space about it and there were always loungers available. It was good to have some loungers under a shaded area which gave some relief from the sun for those who preferred it. On quite a few days w had lunch at the restaurant beside the pool - they sure know how to make pizzas - the best I have tasted!
We were on half board and the meals were very good with plenty of variety to suit everyone. We particularly enjoyed the Mediterranean buffets on Monday evenings when the biggest difficulty is choosing what not to have! The staff in the dining room work very hard - but were always helpful and service was very good.
The bar on the top floor was great for coffee and drinks after dinner - still looking over Capri after the sun had set. We found the whole experience at this hotel so relaxing!
It was good to be away from the busyness of Sorrento but the regular free shuttle bus was excellent and took you there in about 20 minutes.
We went on a couple of boat trips organised through the hotel to Amalfi and Positano and to Capri. These were excellent - for the Amalfi trip we were collected by car and taken along to Marina della Lobra where we joined the boat which takes up to about 70 people. This was an ideal way to see the Amalfi Coast and gave us time in both towns! For the Capri trip we were picked up from the hotel jetty by small boat and taken along to the marina - which was an even better way to travel. We had more than 5 hours in Capri - with the option of an organised tour.
Both boat trips were very good value when compared with similar trips through the tour companies or in Sorrento.
We had a great holiday and would thoroughly recommend this hotel. However because of the many steps around the place it would not be suitable for children or those with walking difficulties.

Room Tip: Make sure you book a room with a sea view!

First class personal service in stunning environment - if one likes quietness, sea breeze, the sound of breakers and the ever shifting wonders of the Mediterranean lights and colors. The hotel is located 20 minutes drive from Sorrento - beautiful view of Capri.

The new San Lorenzo restaurant deserves many guests to enjoy the sunset and the deliciously prepared dinner. We are full of superlatives, but one little scratch: roomservice was not always reliable.

Room Tip: Recommend rooms with balcony overlooking the Mediterranean.
