Capri is a definite must see when visiting Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. We found out about this company from an advertisement in the reception of our hotel, advertising a trip to Capri for 38 Euro. We though this was very reasonable as other tours were asking for around 70 euro. We decided to book for the next day (you have to give a days notice). We were picked up at our hotel at 8.20am by a mini bus and transferred to a small harbour just outside Sorrento town. There was a large ferry type boat with many people on, however us and six other people got to go on a smaller motor boat that seated a maximum limit of 8 with cushions up the front for sunbathing. Anthony, our skipper then took us over to Capri which is about 45-60 mins journey. We then went around half of the island with Anthony pointing out points of interest. When we got to the blue grotto (25 euro extra), it was absolutely packed. There were about ten boats in front with people all waiting to get in, so we didn't bother. We carried on going around the island stopping at Marina Piccola. Here we had about 5 hours to ourselves to look around. You can walk up to Capri town but it takes about 45 mins on average or you can take the bus costing 1.80 euro each way. We got off and had a look around a very pretty Capri, with the grand hotels, houses, top end designer shops and restaurants. We then decided to go up to Anacapri which from Capri town is another 1.80 each way on the bus, however when you get up there, there is a chairlift (single seater) for 10 euro. You have to have a head for heights as its a long way up the mountain but you're never very far from the ground (about 20ft) On the way up and once you're up there, on a clear day you see beautiful views over looking Capri and the coast. We headed back down on the bus to Capri town, had another wander around then the bus back down to the boat. Give time though as buses are small and the bus queues can be quite long. Back on the boat we carried on round the rest of the island seeing the coastal sights then headed back to the mainland. We found this a great day out, the staff were very helpful and friendly and again very reasonable pricing considering that the main ferry out of Sorrento is 33 euro return journey.
