“Excellent day trip to Capri!”

Cooperative Marina della lobra
Reviewed 7 July 2012

Capri is a definite must see when visiting Sorrento and the Amalfi coast. We found out about this company from an advertisement in the reception of our hotel, advertising a trip to Capri for 38 Euro. We though this was very reasonable as other tours were asking for around 70 euro. We decided to book for the next day (you have to give a days notice). We were picked up at our hotel at 8.20am by a mini bus and transferred to a small harbour just outside Sorrento town. There was a large ferry type boat with many people on, however us and six other people got to go on a smaller motor boat that seated a maximum limit of 8 with cushions up the front for sunbathing. Anthony, our skipper then took us over to Capri which is about 45-60 mins journey. We then went around half of the island with Anthony pointing out points of interest. When we got to the blue grotto (25 euro extra), it was absolutely packed. There were about ten boats in front with people all waiting to get in, so we didn't bother. We carried on going around the island stopping at Marina Piccola. Here we had about 5 hours to ourselves to look around. You can walk up to Capri town but it takes about 45 mins on average or you can take the bus costing 1.80 euro each way. We got off and had a look around a very pretty Capri, with the grand hotels, houses, top end designer shops and restaurants. We then decided to go up to Anacapri which from Capri town is another 1.80 each way on the bus, however when you get up there, there is a chairlift (single seater) for 10 euro. You have to have a head for heights as its a long way up the mountain but you're never very far from the ground (about 20ft) On the way up and once you're up there, on a clear day you see beautiful views over looking Capri and the coast. We headed back down on the bus to Capri town, had another wander around then the bus back down to the boat. Give time though as buses are small and the bus queues can be quite long. Back on the boat we carried on round the rest of the island seeing the coastal sights then headed back to the mainland. We found this a great day out, the staff were very helpful and friendly and again very reasonable pricing considering that the main ferry out of Sorrento is 33 euro return journey.

Grazie a Giovanni e all aCo-operativa per questo servizio eccezzionale. La meglio possibile esperienza giornaliera per Capri che avrei potuto immaginare!
Thanks so much for the great trip around Capri. Our Captain, Giovanni, was so friendly, helpful and generous, he really shared HIS Capri with us as we toured around the island.
I booked the 35 Euro trip through Ulisse Hostel, and it was worth every eurocent!

This company has very knowledgable tour guides that take you from Massa Lubrense to either: Capri or Amalfi Coast & Positano!!!

I found out about them via my hotel I stayed at in Sorrento. Check this out... at the concierge desk there was a advertisement for boat tours to the above. All you had to do was decide, provide 24 hrs. notice and you were on the list. For the first day I chose Capri. In the morning, a car came to the hotel, picked the guests up and drove us to Massa Lubrense, it's about a 1/2 hr. lovely drive. Then you board the boat. The boat tour to Capri was about an hour (I kinda forget as I was in 'awe' for most of the journey), and you just sit back & relax and take in all the beauty your eyes can possibly stand! The tour guide will tell you about specific points of interest. Once we arrived to Capri, we had several hours (I think 5) to spend the day how we wanted. The couple that I had left the hotel invited me to spend the day with them which was fantastic. We took a little bus all the way up to Anacapri. From there we took a chairlift up to the top of the mountain!!! Talk about a bird's eye view of this magnificent island ... WOW :)
We had lunch, window shopped (it is expensive) and just strolled about taking it all in before we returned to the boat. Of course the boat ride back to base is equally beautiful. And you do go to the blue & green grottos! Just remember to bring cash with you; 12 euro per person to go in and they also ask for tips! It takes all about 2 min's, but you're here, why not!!! Incredible! Once back at base, a driver takes you back to the hotel... seriously, I can't think of a better way to spend the day and all of this for 35 Euro!!!!!!!!!!!
The next day we all went to the Amalfi Coast & Positano... same thing, breathtaking, stunning, beautiful... you have time to go for a swim in the ocean, lunch, shopping etc... I can't enforce recommending these boat tours enough. These return boat tours and pickups from your hotel.... all for 35 Euro is such an incredible deal and the memories will simply linger on FOREVER... MAGNIFICO!!!!
