“fabulous apartment - spectacular views”
Reviewed 5 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed at this apartment in July this year and absolutely loved it. we were 3 adults and 2 children. The views were spectacular, the bedrooms and living rooms lovely, bathrooms excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

“Views that will take your breath away!”
Reviewed 19 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

My family of two adults and two kids (age 10 and 12) stayed in Casa Mariavittoria (i.e. Guido’s place) from April 7 to April 14, 2016. Guido’s place is in a fairly good location if you want to explore the Naples area, the Sorrento coast, and the Amalfi coast. (If you are mainly interested in seeing just the Naples area, then it will be a bit too far out for convenience.) It takes about 90 minutes to reach from the airport. We found the location to be ideal. It is only about 15 minutes outside of Sorrento (for gelato and shopping), but feels like it’s in the country. Other reviewers mentioned issues with parking, but we found a spot up the hill that was always available and where our car seemed safe. It did mean a 5 minute walk back and forth to the car on a very narrow road. So, do note that this is not the house for you if you have mobility issues or small children in strollers.

The house offers fabulous views of the sea from two different patios. It’s nicely decorated and has a small kitchen (stove but no oven). The whole place has a light and airy feel to it.

Our one disappointment was that the pool does not get that hot. Last year, we vacationed in a house in Iceland that had an outdoor “pool” (hot tub) that was nice and toasty despite the outside temperature being below freezing. Our weather in Sorrento was mostly sunny, with temperatures of 65 to 70F (18 to 21C), so it’s a mystery to me why this pool could never get beyond lukewarm. Even when used correctly (we had some user errors due to lack of an instruction sheet), it never got hot enough that my husband and I wanted to go in. My visions of sipping wine in the pool as the sun set never materialized. The kids used it a bit but not every day as we had planned because it was too cool for them too. Guido and his colleagues did their best to address this issue, but perhaps the pool was simply not built to get hot.

I would still heartily recommend staying here, though. And do make sure you take the opportunity to hike up the road it’s on to the end. The walk through olive and lemon groves is lovely and the view from the top of the hill is stunning.

Also, please try the restaurant Riccardo Francischiello that is directly below on the main road in the Hotel Bellavista. The food is excellent and reasonably priced.

“Truely amazing apartment!”
Reviewed 30 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We (the four of us) had a fabulous time staying in Guido's apartment. It is better than the photo's suggest (especially the jacuzzi/hot-tub with a cold bottle of Prosecco!) and the views are quite breathtaking. Guido is a great host and dealt with the one very slight issue we had very quickly. Would highly recomend.

“Five stars all round”
Reviewed 6 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

A delightful house for two couples self-catering, though the magnificent range of restaurants in Sorrento or Massa Lubrense meant we only had breakfast and the odd meal at the house,

You really need a car as it is a ten minute drive out of Sorrento. Parking is available within the narrow road outside the house, though requires parking very tight to the wall. Not suitable for wide cars! Buses are cheap - there is a stop 200 metres from the house on the road to Sorrento.

The style is modern, with glistening white walls, spacious rooms, imaginative high quality fittings, and large glass doors onto the private terraces. Each floor has a bedroom and a bathroom or shower room, and its own private terrace overlooking the sea far below. The panorama is well over 180 degrees, with a westerly outlook so you get wonderful sunsets. Capri is off to the left and seems surprisingly close.

Guido is an exceptional manager who greeted us and showed us around the house. He speaks good English, is very friendly, and is readily available by phone or text. Originally this exceptional house was his own. He is right to be proud of it. It is luxury modern architecture at its best, tastefully fitted out, and spotlessly clean.

What we wanted was a peaceful retreat from busy lives, excellent restaurants nearby, time to laze on a recliner in the sun on the terrace, and day trips to stunning locations such as Pompeii and The Walk of the Gods. That is exactly what we got.

“Beautiful place”
Reviewed 8 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The pictures don't lie, the place is fabulous and the view over the sea to the island of Capri is breathtaking. The villa is very comfortable and offers enough space for 4 - 5 persons.

The villa is not! in Sorrento but 4km outside in Massa Lumbrese. This means closer to the beaches but further away from the center. There are busses but at night you need to take a taxi which can cost up to 30Euros.

Guido is a great host, he gave us a lot of good advise and even helped, when we I had problems with a local airport shuttle service.

The air-condition worked very well, we had some minor problems to get w-lan.

“High Recommend this Villa!!!”

What a great villa. Breathtaking view of the island of Capri. My kids enjoyed the small tub on the terrace. Carmine arranged fun personalized tours for us (a private boat to Capri, a private car to the Amalfi coast and tours to a mozzarella and limoncello factory). Highly recommend this property. Our stay in Sorrento couldn't have been better!! FANTASTIC!!!

Positively: Fab place, good location, quiet, very comfortable and clean/newly refurbished when we stayed. Guido very helpful. Views don't come any better/ fabulous outside space.
Negatively. air con and pool warming can't be on together. no oven in kitchen and needs some more cooking equipment/utensils.
