“Stunning - cant wait to get back.”
Reviewed 3 January 2018 for a stay in September 2017

Lovely apartment and the area is stunning. We stayed with 8 adults – was plenty of room and time out on the deck over looking the Lake was beautiful.
We visited local villages via the boats so no driving involved – supermarket was in walking distance in the Town and Villa. Also local shop at the bottom of the hill that covered just about everything in an emergency – strange hours tho !
Would recommend the Villa – location and exploring the area.
Things you can do – we hired in a chef for the night – stunning.
We did Pasta making course at the Youth Hostel – 5 mins from Villa walk and over looking lake.

“Great base for exploring Lake Como”
Reviewed 6 November 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We recently stayed at this property with a group of friends and found it to be a great, relaxing apartment well placed for exploring lake Como. Overlooking the lake (amazing view from the balcony) it is a five minute walk down into town, the path taking you right to the ferry port with the centre of town a further five minutes walk away. Although up above the town the walk is fairly easy (and a great way to walk off a few of the calories you may have picked up in the great restaurants & cafes in town).

The apartment is well presented, with plenty of room for 8 adults (the size of our party). The downstairs bedroom is a little dark, and if it rains (we had quite heavy rain for a few days) it is advisable to put the heating on to prevent things getting a bit musty. When the weather was better we had no issue. Some of the light fittings in the communal room down there didn't work, but we moved some lights around and made good use of the space - A traditional Sunday Roast, A Swiss Raclette night and we even hired a chef to make us the most delicious Italian specialities.

We did raise the lights issues with the local management company, who were very helpful but the language barrier with the staff who came to look at them meant we didn't get everything sorted out! However we've contacted the owners about these who say they are going to sort those out next time they visit - and their grasp of Italian is much better than ours!

The three upstairs rooms were light and comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space and all with little decks (one at the back over looking the lake leads onto the balcony on that side, the two which are on the front end go to a small seating area by the door).

The balcony overlooking the lake has a table and a few seats to enjoy the view, as well as a sunshade which can be wound out - be careful if it rains with this as water will run off onto the balcony and wake anyone in the downstairs room! But this shouldn't be a problem most of the time.

Overall, despite a few glitches, a great place to stay. We've already made provisional plans to return either next year or the year after and explore some more of the lake and a bit further afield. A delightful area, and it all helped us to fall in love with Italy.

“Great place to stay in Menaggio - Amazing views of the lake!”
Reviewed 4 September 2017 for a stay in May 2017

We had a wonderful stay at Bellavista Grande. The views of Lake Como from the apartment are amazing – we had breakfast on the balcony every morning! It is situated in an excellent location – easy walking distance into the centre of Menaggio, and a short ferry ride away to Varenna, Bellagio and Lenno. There are lots of nice restaurants nearby but we also cooked meals at the apartment – it had everything we needed. The apartment was spacious, cosy, clean and stayed cool when it was super hot outside! We also found all the information provided before our stay, as well as at the apartment, very comprehensive and useful for planning our holiday. We look forward to visiting again and have recommended staying here to our friends!

“Past its sell by date”

Photos are about 10 years old but furniture the same. 'Lower' floor is in fact a dark dingy basement with 1 small porthole style opening 'no glass' that you can't see through due to spiders webs and weeds. Lower bathroom shower too scarey to get in. Other bathrooms have black mould and one without a window the extractor fan does not work and smelt really bad. Bitterly disappointed as treated my family to what I thought would be a lovely break. The whole pace is in need of refurbishment leather suite was filthy and the rug, yes the same rug as in photo, was full of other people's hair and dust under to etc that made us feel place not even been cleaned.

Hi good day! Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. The property photos were taken just last year, so the soft furnishings and furniture are the same :-) We change them every 3-5 years, not every year as the property is only let our for part time holiday lets.
Please note the Lower Ground Floor is definitely not a basement; it is, as described, a lower ground floor so that it doesn't have the windows or startling view that the ground floor rooms and terrace have. It is still properly furnished and is decorated as a cosy lower floor.
Regarding the extractor fan not working, we are sorry to hear of this. If you had reported it to our dedicated property team at the time then they would have ensured a maintenance person was sent to repair it.
We will speak with the cleaning company we use to ensure they double check the cleaning and furniture carefully to make sure they are up to the usual spotless standard. This is not the usual standard to which we expect either, so we are sorry to hear they fell short this time. Thank you very much again for coming to stay!

“Wonderful place, amazing view, close to andnities”
Reviewed 12 August 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Loved this place. Cannot understand the review below - everything worked fine and we used all 4 bedrooms and they all had lights in them. We also used the garage with no problem and we had been told since we had thought about bringing 2 cars that if we did, there was extra parking space within the complex. We found the agency super helpful - even printing out our boarding cards for us for return flight so a call to them might have resolved all the problems.
What else did we like? 3 bathrooms and 2 living rooms as well as the large terrace - must be one of the biggest we've ever had with astounding views. Ample space for all 3 generations (grandparents and teens) to spread out. A very short walk to ferry and not much further on into town with loads of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and food shops.
And drinking the bottle of prosecco left us by the agency, on the terrace, admiring those stunning views is going to be a life long memory.

This apartment is large with two levels, but not in the best condition. At least 6 or 7 light bulbs were burned out, making it difficult to see in the evening. One BR we used had no light at all. The place was fairly clean, but not completely so and obviously heavily used. The parking garage (the only available) is very small and nearly impossible to enter - it took 3 people 25 minutes to gradually get a midsize vehicle into the garage. We ended up parking a block away and hiking. The patio views are tremendous - a pleasant place to be - but the patio furniture was very dirty. When other people in the building partied on their patios, we lost the privacy and quiet that made the lake view so charming. The beds were just ok. Overall, we were determined to enjoy ourselves and did, but we would not return to this property.

Thank you for your review and we will surely check all the lights and it's always best to contact the agency when you have a problem. They would have been of assistance, even learning how to park in an Italian garage, which can be an adventure if you are not used to it.
We hope you enjoyed the prosecco and the marvellous views and took home many great memories of Lake Como.
