We stayed here for one night with Globus. It is a huge hotel but nothing stands out. Clean, comfortable and average. We had asked for a double bed but it was two singles made up as singles and pushed together. Breakfast was nice but average also.

The classical business hotel. In the room it was a kind of noise from the heating, ventilation and all other kind of installation.
The restaurant is nice and you can enjoy an evening on the terrace!
Very clean and pleasant.

The Laguna Palace seemed like the perfect hotel for a one night pre-cruise stay in Venice: rather close to the airport, not far from the sights and canals of Venice, modern rooms and facilities, and by staying on the outskirts of Venice, one can avoid the logistic problems of beautiful Venice, meaning, no need for water taxis or water transportation when loaded down with lots of cruise ship baggage.

The good news is that the hotel is a quick taxi ride from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise ship terminal; but the hotel's location is really poor. Mestre does not have much to offer visitors but for quick rail transport to Venice, and the hotel is a long walk from Mestre center and the railway station; the immediate area has nothing to offer. (Thankfully, there is a nice Italian restaurant called Unico a short walk from the hotel, otherwise, the dining choices are limited and unappealing and hotel offers very limited food service.)

The hotel itself is very large and modern with good sized rooms; sadly the décor is very somber and entire hotel is uninviting. Then there is the A Tower and B Tower thing: our taxi dropped us off at the main entrance to the hotel, we checked in, and then learned that we were in the other building and had had to drag our baggage a distance of about 3 city blocks to the other building only to check in again and receive our room key; and, there was no one available to help us with our bags as no bellman were on duty. Simply ridiculous and unacceptable at a 4* hotel. We asked for extra pillows and, after an hour, we received a call from reception telling us that there are no extra pillows available in the hotel - really? The room was otherwise OK, nothing luxurious but acceptable for one night. Breakfast was totally underwhelming with a reasonable but unappealing buffet; that water was dripping into the breakfast room from a leak above was rather unpleasant.

The price was very reasonable for the Venice area, especially considering that it was high season, but even at the low price, it did not feel like good value for the money. There was no pool or gym or any other type of amenities offered.

I really thought that this hotel would be a good compromise for quick one night pre-cruise stay in Venice but it was far from ideal and was disappointing. In the future, we will stay in Venice proper and simply arrange for water taxis. Too bad.

Room Tip: The entire Tower a and Tower B thing is ridiculous. Try to get a room in the tower at which you arr...

Clean, friendly, price well and well located. Was there for an overnight stay so didn't do much. We came here after our original hotel told us the didn't have room because they were overbooked. The staff here was pleasant and very helpful dying our stay.

This is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. You can take the public bus ( only 10 minutes walk ) to go to Venice. If you can stay at this hotel if you want to save money. The upsides are breakfast was good, free wifi, good enough rooms, supermarket ( barely 10 minutes by walk), 20-25 minutes walk to Mestre downtown which is pretty cool and lots of stores to shop. Downside.. Gym is very small ( only 3 machines ) if you're willing to spend more money, you should stay in Venice :)

Our stay was in June 2014.

We were quite taken aback by the size and location of the hotel, which is not too far from Venice city centre- although this needs to be undertaken by means of taxi. (I’m not sure walking would get you anywhere!)

A dinner service was set four our group by the hotel, and the hotel staff went out of their way to make sure we had enough to eat- the wine was also really very good.

Service at the hotel was friendly and we did not need anything while we stayed here.

The room was enormous, and we had plenty of space to pack and unpack.

The TV was in a really silly place though- nowhere near the location you would need it if you were lying in bed, and I am aware of one of the member of our group cutting all of the cable-ties so she could move it and watch!

Don’t be fooled by what looks like a large cupboard in the room- this is locked and appears to be the service hatch or entrance for the pipework to the bathroom. It took us a minute of 2 to work out why we couldn't open the ‘cupboard’ until we found the lock…

It was a comfortable stay, and I was pleasantly surprised.

My purse with passports and wallet were stolen shortly after I checked in at NH Laguna Palace reception on Friday, July 11. The receptionist had just made copies of my passport as well as my 6-year-old daughter's passport and my husband's passport so I had all three in my purse. When I informed the front desk that my bag was suddenly missing, one receptionist told me "It could happen anywhere."
My 6-year-old daughter, my husband and I could not board our flight back to the U.S. early Saturday morning without passports so we had to rebook flights for Tuesday, July 15 morning since the U.S. Embassy was closed for the weekend and we had to take the train to Milan since the U.S. Consulate in Venice does not issue passports.
We were forced to stay three extra nights in Italy - so as you can imagine hotel costs, transportation to Milan and airline rescheduling really added up financially.
Not to mention, having to explain to my daughter, why people steal, why the NH Laguna Palace Hotel is not safe and why we could not go home. We just all wanted to be home - and after a long four days, we are happy to finally be home.
