“Adequate”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

I just say adequate, because of the location, once in the rooms you may agree they are in need of updateing. It would be nice if there was a hot pot for boiling water in the rooms.

The internet here is very unstable...

The phone may ring for a long time before the front desk answers. There could be a better indication on the phone for calling the front desk. As the reception button on the phone did not work. It took some time for me to figure out how to call downstairs. It is a good thing it was not an emergency.

Located in a small town, there is a large supermarket of the next block where you can get some very nice olive oil to take home. Just go out the door and make a right.

Across the street it the bus stop for getting to Venice, tickets may be purchased at the smoke shop just behind the bus stop.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have bathtubs, so ask.

I booked this hotel as part of a two site trip from Travel Zoo going to both Rome and Venice. The hotel is in a good location and the bus stop outside is very convenient for getting into Venice. The staff that work behind the Bar are very good and helpful, polite and professional. And the young Romanian concierge was very good. However the rest of the staff in this place are as unhelpful as they can possibly be. The guy at reception clearly did not want to be there. He told us our room number and said "whatever" when we asked if they took Amex. Apart from that he just totally ignored any questions we asked. The WIFI is a total SCAM. We were there for 2 days. You have to pay per day per device, and a day is not 24 hours it is that day. We arrived in the evening at 5PM paid for 2 days we only got about 30 hours worth, and half the time it does not work. Don't bother to buy your bus tickets from reception this is another SCAM

The breakfast is appalling. First time I have ever seen a Hotel Breakfast with no toast, the staff when they run in for two seconds ignore all there guests and run out again.

Do not book this hotel if you are coming to the area.

Room Tip: Don't expect any help from reception and buy your bus tickets from the shop across the road for...

Venice is lovely, but to book this hotel was a mistake. Good location, and that's it. We had a room on a 5th floor, there was some error with the key and the door didn't open. We were sent 4 times up and down from the reception to try opening. 5th time personnel man came himself and just declared that the lock is not working. He opened the door with his own key and asked not to leave room that day in order we will not be able to come in. AC inside was leaking. The room itself was very tired. Unhelpful Reception staff - not a 4* experience at all. I'm glad we stayed only one night there. And would not go back.

We stayed for couple of days whilst visiting Venice. Room we were allocated was tired and dated - rusty towel rail, broken shower door, holes in bedsheets and worn carpets. Staff very helpful though and they reallocated us to alternative room - though décor still dated it was clean and neat . No tea/coffee making facilities . Paper thin walls - heard every noise all night of family next to us!!!! Average breakfast . Great location for Venice though - short ride on bus, so saved loads being able to eat in Mestre .

Location/Transportation: Conveniently located in Mestre near public transit (1.30 Euro per direction for city bus # 4 or 4L to Venice has a stop across the street, comes every 10min is a 10min ride to Venice, train station is a 10min walk with an 8 Euro, 20min charter bus to Marco Polo Airport).

Next door is a small grocer (Pam) with essentials. There are not many restaurants close by aside from Ristorantino da Carla which is a good, small family-run restaurant where we had gorgonzola gnocchi, seafood fettucini and caprese salad, all good but a bit pricey. We heard of another restaurant nearby with great reviews but never went there and also a highly reviewed Gelato shop.

Hotel Rooms: Our room was very small, with one queen bed that was hard and uncomfortable with thin blankets that were also not very comfortable. The room was very clean and clearly updated within the last few years, the bathroom was fine, no complaints and also very clean. Breakfast was very basic with scrambled eggs (?powdered - not good), bacon, rolls, fruit salad, cereal, coffee and juice. Not very good. Wifi worked fine for us, though not well enough to stream any videos.

Service: The staff were friendly and helpful and always willing to help with answers. They called around to restaurants and made reservations for us and helped us with directions, airport shuttle charter, etc.

Overall: Average, clean hotel option with good service and easy access to public transit into Venice. Expensive for what it was in my opinion but I didn't see many cheaper options in and around Venice. Not the greatest neighborhood to find great food or any sort of nightlife.

Priced to be better than the high cost Venice sites, our room was not clean and relatively small. Lighting was poor and the hotel amenities (i.e. soap they provided) was microscopic. Internet access through the Wi-Fi was challenging but achievable. Elevators are small and it was easier to take the steps. The breakfast meal was not one that I would want to repeat.

Venice is a very expensive place for accommodation and I was finding it very hard to find something within my budget for the 2 nights, I came across this hotel which is on the main land of Mestre, it was within budget and the pictures looked lovely, now our room didn't resemble the picture in the slightest but it was still clean and decent, the bed was comfortable and it was okay.

The hotel is about 10-12 mins walk from the train station, quite easy to do or you can get a bus from outside straight into the centre of Venice, it's really cheap (around €1.50 each)

The staff were very helpful and advised us how to get in and out of venice, our room didn't have a particularly nice view so if you think you are going to be looking out on beautiful canals then don't book this place if however you just need somewhere to crash while you explore the area then you can't really ask for anything more.
