“Don't expect friendly service”
Reviewed 26 May 2014 via mobile

Ok hotel, not a 4 stars but decent. Service very unfriendly, almost makes you feel you are disturbing them! No shuttle to Venice, breakfast was ok. Weird location not that convenient, we would not go back.

The hotel was clean, the breakfast typical, the cappuccino great. The air conditioning was controlled by the hotel, so the room was stuffy. We opened the window to get some air and were flooded by mosquitoes...which we spend half an hour killing. We had to ask the desk to turn on the air.
The rooms were NOT sound proof nor the windows. The traffic could be heard easily on fourth floor.
We came from a cruise ship. We were supposed to be picked up, called numerous times and after a two hour wait, no one came. so we spent 33 euro on a taxi. arrived at the hotel to find that the shuttle was now waiting for us at the ship.
the bus and vaporetto were convenient, but due to 5 ships in port, 5 tour groups in hotel, all was crowded. It is definitely a hotel for business and tour groups, not for someone who wants convenience to Venice and quiet.
Rooms were clean, bathrooms very nice, amenities - the soap was so small...like a fat quarter...making it difficult to soap up.
The shuttle to the airport was a nightmare. Not even wanting to go there. The bed was hard as a rock and we asked for extra pillows.
We have to say the breakfast, minus the eggs, was nice with lots of good baked sweets and adequate yogurt, etc.
If we go to Venice again, we will stay closer to the city center.
The price was right however. and the stay pleasant. Had we not had the inconvenience of being very tired after 3 weeks in Italy, we would not have been so annoyed. But a four star hotel it is not. A three at best. The free internet was quite nice and convenient. thank goodness we didn't have to eat dinner there. Everyone was complaining about it.
After staying at the Grand Hotel de la Minerve in Rome, it was hard to settle.

Room Tip: choose a room away from the main street.

Dear Janet,
thanks for sharing your experience at our hotel. You mention so many things that we need to respond one by one: first of all, we are glad you liked our breakfast, and that our hotel to be very clean. Here in Venice we have lots of mosquitos at night but it really depends on the temperature, if it's sunny or rainy, etc.. but that is anywhere in Venice, especially on the islands and in summer. We know some people are more light sleepers than others and the sound of the main road may sometimes be heard from the rooms. We are sorry for the misunderstanding with your pick-up service from the cruise peer. Our shuttle had always been waiting for you at the terminal so we guess it we misunderstood the meeting point. Venice is very crowded during this time of the year and we don't think we can do anything to make it less crowded. We are sorry that being tired from the rest of your trip somehow spoiled your time in Venice. We think you should have tried our restaurant service in order to be able to rate it.

Thank you once again for choosing our hotel
Kind Regards
the hotel management

We stayed in this hotel as part of a package with a cruise. We had 2 nights here before going on the cruise. It is about 5 minutes from the airport. Taxi easy to get but could do bus if you wanted. We checked in and had rooms overlooking the front which were a little noisy. The back would be better and up high so you would get a view of venice. The reception staff were very helpful, telling us where to get the bus and selling us tickets. It was all very easy and convenient. The hotel is used by a lot of coach tours and the breakfast room was always crowded. Breakfast was not the best but there was certainly enough choice that you could find something to eat. We used there transport to get to the cruise terminal and it was all fine. It is a good stopping point to get to Venice, the airport and the cruise terminal. Just be aware of the safe in the room it is not bolted to anything so not much use.
We did not eat evening meal in the restaurant as ate both days in Venice which was lovely.

Room Tip: High up at the back

We stayed in the Antony on our return from a cruise,we were there for 2 days.. plus points the hotel was very clean and modern, the shower was huge, beds comfy and pillows not too hard ..It was very handy and easy to get into Venice, buying our tickets for the bus and a small cafe near the bus stop...Don't forget to get your ticket franked once you are on the bus..Minus points, the breakfast was not very good, the scrambled egg was cold both morning, there was a far choice of cereal and and bread you could toast yourself..The food in the restaurant was awful to say the least...I could not eat my Pizza it was tasteless ,the steaks my sister and her husband were swimming in grease...To top it all we saw cockroaches in the dining room..I reported the awful Pizza and the cockroaches to the main desk,,The following morning when it cane to paying my bill ,I was angry that I had been charged for the Pizza which I had sent back..The lady on the desk could not do enough and said that she was sorry that I had not enjoyed the Pizza .She took it off my bill and did not charge me for the transfer to airport.I would not stay at the hotel again should I ever visit Venice again..

Dear Yorkypud,

thanks for booking our hotel for your post-cruise stay in Venice. We would like to make a few things clear about your complains:

- You didn't like our pizza margherita because you expected it to have pineapple on it, but pizza margherita is not supposed to have it;
- You ordered a rare beef fillet but sent it back because you then said you wanted it medium, but then you said it was too well done.. Our cooks only put a drop of oil on the steaks.
- The restaurant was full (almost 180 people) and nobody else reported seeing cockroaches

We remain at your disposal.

Kind Regards
the hotel management

We had a large group of people coming off a cruise ship. This seemed like a better option for us rather than hauling all our luggage through the streets and bridges of Venice. They sell bus/water taxi tickets right at the hotel. There is a short walk to bus #5 which drops you right off at the water taxis. The rooms were nice, the beds fairly comfortable and very nice bathrooms. The breakfast room is nice and the breakfast choices were typical European. The package we had included pickup at the cruise dock and transportation to the airport. Our only problem was with the pickup at the cruise dock. They came with two vehicles to get our group and we did not all fit. The driver said it would take 30 minutes to return. He never came back for the rest of the group. We got someone to call and finally someone shows up with a little car. He had to call and get the bigger van sent. We spent two hours at the dock waiting for a ride. Fortunately the ride to the airport went a little smoother.

Stayed here 2 nights. It's located about 20 minutes from Venice and I was glad to be out of the chaos of Venice proper. I saw people hauling their luggage in the city, going up and down bridges and in and out of water taxis and that seemed like a terrible way to have to arrive at a hotel. This hotel is very modern and had wonderful food in the dining room. I would definitely stay here again if I'm lucky enough to return to Venice.

This is a great hotel if you have an early flight out of Marco Polo airport. The rooms are very comfortable and the showers are a real treat after a couple of weeks of quaint Italian inns. The food in the restaurant was a real surprise. It was excellent! Imagine good food at an airport hotel.
