This is a lovely hotel. It is situated across the road from the bus stop outside the Mestre Train Station. From here you can get a bus into Venice (15 minutes). We got a 3 day ticket for 31 euros which also paid for the water buses around the city.

The hotel is completely re-furbished and rooms are not huge but they are nicely decorated, comfortable, and have plenty of storage space, seating and mirrors. The bathroom is fantastic with a shower big enough for two with a big powerful showerhead as well as body jets! There is also a large heated towel rail. We left the hotel fairly late - around 11 am / midday each day and the cleaners still attended to our room after this time.

The only issue was that the hairdryer is not very powerful and it took an age to dry my hair - not a complaint, just a tip ladies to take your own!

The windows in the rooms are lovely and big and open fully. Our view wasnt very good but that's not what we went to Venice for. The hotel bar is nice and serves cheap drinks. 1 euro ish for coffee, and around 3.50 euros for alcoholic drinks. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The ATVO bus from treviso airport stops about 200m from the hotel and is only 9 euros return. It takes 40 minutes.

If you don't mind staying outside central Venice this is the hotel for you and you can save a lot of money compared to the Island prices. We paid £ 194.00 for 3 nights through RyanAir.

I stayed at this hotel twice during my stay in Venice for a total of 3 nights. The room was decorated very nice (recently completely renovated). The bed was very comfortable for two people. The bathroom was gorgeous top of the line! The front desk clerks spoke fluent English, were very friendly, and helpful. This hotel is only yards from the train station (a 1 min walk). The train stops every few minutes and is approx a 10 min train ride into Venice for 1 euro each way. Breakfast was included and they had a lot to choose from to eat and drink (help yourself). I would recommend this to anyone that wanted to save money without sacrificing quality.

Triple glazed windows meanth that although a major junction right outside meant that once the windows were shut we slept like babies. A large and spacious room with large bathroom with bidet included. Bar is reasonably priced and seem to stay open until the last guest leaves even though they tell you other wise. More than happy for friends staying elsewhere to enjoy a drink. Lovely outside area to sit and enjoy the balmy weather and protected and screened from road. Breakfast as you would expect - mostly cold buffet - but seemed a little rushed and disorganised. We had to wait a while for a table and then for tea and coffee.

Definately worth paying the extra for for the peace and quite in this very busy and unpicturesque area.

Having just written a not-so-complimentary review of a Seattle Best Western, I want to compliment the BW Bologna Hotel in Venice (Mestre) Italy. We have used this hotel as a base for innumerable visits to the Veneto since 1995. It is on the mainland directly across from the railway station and offers an incredible opportunity to save on the sky-high hotel prices of Venice proper. The staff has always been helpful and enthusiastic; offering advice and assistance beyond the norm. The building is older, but newly updated and has comfortable, immaculate rooms with those incredible bathrooms Italy is noted for. The public rooms - lobby, lounge and dining room are excellent. The included buffet breakfast can suffice for a full day's nourishment if necessary. Everything from fresh fruit, rolls, eggs, cereal, yogurt and salumi. Coffee and tea, juice and milk are available.
The dining room is beautiful, however the food is not particularly outstanding, although the service and wine list are excellent. I highly recommend the Bologna for reasonable rates, service, convenient access to transportation to the Island and quiet comfort.

This hotel, part of the Best Western chain was an older building which has been refurbished. We had a room in the newest part and it was excellent. It was clean, a good size with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was very large with a great shower. The lighting in the bath and the bedroom were a little dim, but not terrible. Our room was in the back and was absolutely quiet.

The location was great and it took 10 minutes by train to get to Venice.

The front desk people were very helpful and there was free internet access.

I stayed at the Hotel Bologna in Mestre, Italy, in late September 2007 at the beginning of a 3 week tour of Italy. I found the hotel to be easy to get to, clean, safe, modern, quiet and an overall positive experience. I arrived at the airport (Marco Polo) and simply got on the "Blue Bus" waiting at the outer stand and paid my 3 Euros to the driver who, 5 minutes later, left with a full load of passengers for the Mestre train station. We arrived at the station in about 10-15 minutes and walked across the street to the hotel. The hotel itself is IKEA/Danish modern with large rooms, high ceilings and hardwood floors. It was a newer building with air conditioning (something a lot of Venice hotels don't have), parking for cars, an Internet PC (free) in the lobby. The building had double paned glass to keep down the street noise and was very conveniently located directly across from the train station from which you could get to Venice for 1 Euro in only about 10 minutes. You could get on any train heading east and arrive in Venice or take any train from Venice heading west and Mestre is the first stop. There was breakfast included with the room rate but it is nothing to rave or complain about.

The room was large (most in Venice itself are very small) in a large, new, modern building. I travelled with several people who stayed on the island of Venice and wished they hadn't because they spent a fortune for a small room in an old building without A/C in the summer but had the "Venice Experience". I'll take a newer hotel with modern ammenities any day of the week.

This hotel is located right across the street from the Mestre train station on the corner. Our floor was being renovated, but our room was luckily not affected. We booked a suite with a divider door between the 2 rooms. There was only 1 TV set to share. We were overcharged for one bed we booked earlier. Remember to bring your printed email/confirmation from home. The suite was modern and clean. Breakfast had plenty of fruit to choose from. The internet was not working in the lobby. We bought tickets from the train station to take us into Venice (San Marco Square) - 2 euros per person for the return trips. The ride is only a few minutes long. The hotel is a great alternative if you don't want to pay the expensive hotel rates of staying in Venice.
