We stayed here during our tour of Italy in the car and only picked it because of three things, the closeness to the train station, it had car parking and it was a Best Western - All 3 were bang on the money!
The hotel is a only 10 minute train ride from Venice with the station sited across the street, trains were always on time and very cheap - however do go early as to the ticket lines were long and finding your plateform can be a little stressful.

On arrival to the hotel we were even more happy when we were upgraded to a supreme room which after camping for a week was exactly what the doctor ordered. Room was very big with all the mod cons you expect with the added bonus of free WIFI which was very quick indeed.
The rest if the hotel didn't let us down either, first night we had supper in the bar restraunt as found the main one a little too posh.
The menu was slightly limited but there was a fillet steak, however the Italians do like there meat raw so if like me you like your steak UK cooked medium ask for well done or get them to slice in half as I did. Both our mains were quick and tasty so nothing to complain about there.
As mentioned in other posts the hotel does have parking available at 20 euro per night, not very secure but still felt the car was safe. At nights the gates were shut so do remember to take everything out the car or you will need to wait until morning.

We stayed two nights at the Best Western Bologna Hotel (7/4 & 7/6). We had just spent two weeks traveling Europe on Starwoods and Hilton points. The Sheraton and Hilton properties weren't available. I took a chance on the Best Western Bologna and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is not fancy but it's clean and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet is very good. Mestre is a great option for visiting Venice. The hotel is across the street from the Mestre Train station. This was the deciding factor. It makes for a very easy 10 minute train ride in to Venice. After I saw people dragging their suitcases across the Rialto Bridge I knew we made the right decision. I recommend this hotel as a good option for trip to Venice. Especially if you are traveling by train.

After quite a bit research, I finally decided to book this hotel in Mestre, rather than in Venice. It turned out a very wise decision.

While romantic and full of fun to explore the narrow alleys and small bridges in Venice, it's simply not practical to drag you suitcases all around. This hotel offers the solution to such accessibility concern, at very reasonable price (and breakfast included!).

The hotel facility is rather standard, business-like. Staff is professional. Room is clean and well-sized. Pleasantly found out noise from the railway wasn't a concern at all - I actually heard more noises from the neighboring room in which some kids were really loud at night. There's a supermarket just 2-min away.

After a full day of wandering in Venice, it takes only 10 min train ride and then cross the street... Voila! You can just crash on the comfortable bed. Both my wife and I were very glad that we chose this hotel, particularly considering the really early Italo train we had to catch to Rome.

I think this hotel is ideal for cost-conscious travelers who want consistent, reliable amenities, and/or easy access to Venice - the "no drama" way.

Room Tip: Triple-room is good sized, and family friendly. It probably helps if the room is not directly facin...

We booked the room for 4 nights based on price and location but we were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant and bar. Our room was street view of the train station on the 3rd floor. There was no street noise and the room was very quiet and clean. The bathroom was very spacious and great shower. Internet access was better than we expected.
The location provided easy access to the train that took us to Venice in 10 minutes and you can get the train tickets at the front desk, it is easier and convenient.
The buffet breakfast is included in your room rate and it was great.
The bartenders we had (Morris and Moreno) were outstanding and always with a positive attitude.
We tried some of the local places to eat but could compare with the restaurant at the hotel, everything we tried there was fresh and full of flavor.
We needed a jewelry store at the last minute Saturday morning and the front desk was able to find us one within walking distance that was able to help us get an engagement ring.
We recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this area for any reason.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher up room to avoid street noise.

We stayed in Best Western Bologna for one night. I have stayed in hotels in Mestre in the past in the late 90s so I expected not the best when I booked this place. I was surprised at how clean and updated the rooms are when I checked in. I think they did an major renovation in the last year or two because the rooms are large enough and matches up with the photos shown in the booking websites. Bathrooms are clean and modern. Hotel is in a great location because the train station to Venice and other cities in Italy is just across the street. Rooms are quite and well air conditioned. Staff were friendly and helped us with booking taxi to the Cruise Port. Good value for the money.

Chose this hotel based on other reviews & we weren't disappointed. When I booked, I asked for a high floor & quiet room & that's exactly what we got - Room 343 on the 3rd floor & the very end room, so nobody walking past & no noise from outside as it overlooked an internal courtyard with a large car park on the other side.
As Italian hotel rooms go, it was a decent size with a very large bathroom, including bath & separate shower. The air conditioning was extremely efficient & wifi signal very strong & reliable. We also had an efficient mini-bar which we used to store cold drinks purchased from the local supermarket (turn left out of the hotel & it's about 3 blocks on the same side - Ali di Piave).
Breakfast was fine - it did get busy but we never had to wait for a table.
The reception staff were brilliant - very efficient & helpful & spoke very good English. We purchased train tickets from them each day & also tickets for the airport shuttle bus which is less than 5 minutes walk - next to the train station.
The only negative was the Bistro, where we ate for the first two nights - gave them the benefit of the doubt after the first night but wish we hadn't. The waitress we had, who was also covering breakfast, was very unfriendly & had to be reminded to bring drinks. On the second night, my husband ordered beef fillet & requested it to be cooked medium to well-done but it arrived rare. My mixed fish grill was barely warm. Both meals were went back & returned 10 minutes later - the fish now cold.
On our last night, we ate in Soul Kitchen across the road which couldn't have been more different - great food, great service & much nicer atmosphere,
Overall, this hotel is an ideal base if you want to see Venice without being in the busy centre. Public transport is very cheap - €2.50 return by train to Venice - €7 for a Vaporetto ride & €6 airport shuttle. For all forms of transport, just remember to validate your ticket in the appropriate machines.

Picked this hotel primarily because we had a car and it's proximity to public transport to get to Venice itself. Parking is right onsite and the train station is right across the road. It takes roughly ten minutes to get to Venice itself and train tickets can be bought at then hotel.

Service from hotel staff was good and the room itself was adequate with out being great. Breakfast was ok as was WiFi speed. The biggest problem was the noise factor within the hotel and we struggled to get much sleep for the three nights that we stayed there which definitely soured our stay.
