I visited this hotel during a Globus Tour in July 2011.

This hotel was absolutely horrible. The beds were hard as rocks. You could actually feel the bed springs with every move you made.

The air conditioning was broken when we arrived and it was only about 100 degrees outside! We asked them to fix it since there was about 50 of us in rooms with no air conditioning. They managed to tell us that it was our fault for breaking the hotel air conditioning system since we all came in and turned the air on in our rooms. With our rooms being only about 10% of the hotel it seems odd that we were the only ones who had air on.

We asked to be moved to another hotel but not enough was to be found. We had to suffer it out. The rooms were dark and seemed dirty.

I will never go back to this hotel. The breakfast was standard food but the dinner there was sub par. They could have done so much better.

Luckily free wifi made it a little better but that didn't make us stop sweating while trying to sleep on a plank sweating.

Location of Delfino was okay...not far from the sights. Rooms were okay but have seen better at 3 star places. Service was not great, no help with bags when we arrived. I asked for an iron and was told irons are banned in all hotels in Italy which is simply untrue!!!....so had to wear wrinkled clothes while we stayed there.Internet was terrible, very slow and frustrating. Breakfast was of very poor quality.....expected a lot more for the price and of a '4 star' hotel!!!!

Delfino is part of the quality in chain. As all quality inn hotels, this one lives up to the quality inn name. We stayed in a superior double bedroom and the room was quite large and comfy. Bathroom was very clean with a decent sized shower as well. Overall it was good value for money and the bus stop to take a bus to Venice is exactly opposite the hotel. The ticket costs euro 2.5 and the bus journey is beautiful.

If you do not want to use internet and not for a big tastebreakfast, this is the place to stay. Large rooms, 10 min bus ride to Pl. Roma in Venice (1,20 Euro) and not having to drag your suitcase through Venice! The negatives: Wifi is a joke. Their server does not work!!! (3 devices, 3 times excellent connection, NO internet!). You park your car underground and you have to ask to go to your car (at least on sundays) as the parking garage is closed.

The positives: large rooms, conviently located, fair parking rates.

Look for the antenna's in the corridor and point the closed one to your room for best signal ;)

My wife and I stayed for two nights, both before and after a cruise commencing in Venice. The hotel was recommended to us by our travel agent. As we had stayed in Mestre before, and prefer it to Venice, we knew roughly as to its location. We were able to have early check on both occasions, which enabled us to visit Venice much sooner.
The staff are very helpful, and the number 4L bus stops outside the hotel, with a direct route to Venice. The fare is 1.2 euro each way, and tickets can be obtained at reception. If arriving at Mestre railway or bus station, the 20 and 21 buses again stop outside the hotel. This is an advantage, as it is a fair distance with uneven footpaths, should you have suitcases. If not, definitely within walking distance. Good continental breakfast. Our room was spacious and clean, but one needs to request that the a/c is turned on at reception, when checking in.
Minor niggles are 1) Should provide a bath mat, as shower glass is too narrow ie.water ends up on floor,2) The nozzle of the hair dryer in our room kept coming loose, which is a problem when trying to dry your hair. I did note these two minor details on the comments form after our visit, but whether anything is done remains to be seen.
No matter, would have no hesitation in recommending, or staying there again.
