“Bad example of a decent chain”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

I highly question the QUALITY in this hotels name. I arrived from the airport while traveling with my 8 year old daughter around 12pm. We were exhausted from our trip coming from the US only to find out that we did have a room even though I booked it 3 days prior and received a confirmation. Since I didn't stay there, I cannot give a rating on anything other than the treatment I received at the front desk. Lisa was pleasant and seemed nervous that they did not have accommodations for us. However another girl at the desk who wouldn't disclose her name was rude and confrontational. She was rude with at least four or five other guests who were complaining about their rooms. Even threatening to call the police on one if them. Since I do not know her name, I'll have a physical description. She was tall with short red hair, glasses and blue eyes. Management should speak with her about what QUALITY customer service should be.

Typical Italian hotel, their 4 star is comparable to a ordinary 3 star in other countries. Stayed one night on return from cruise, this was plenty.
On arrival staff were helpful, after their shift change the next lot we're rude and extremely unhelpful, everything was too much trouble.
Hotel location is good for bus service into Venice, you can purchase the bus tickets at reception. There is a good supermarket next door, for some cheaper supplies, after being fleeced on your visit to Venice.
Not much around the hotel as mostly residential, industrial, not a desirable area.
Room was adequate, basis, shower room ok, but some broken floor tiles in the shower cubical could have cut your feet. we were at the front, plenty of noise from the busy road out front.
Breakfast was basic and bland, not very interesting.
Overall one night was plenty.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel.

Delfino was a nice hotel which is very close to amenities and opposite for a bus stop to Venice which costs around 2.70 euros return . Staff pleasant and it was very clean and tidy . Breakfast was also ok . Nice end to our holiday .

Three stars would be the most this hotel deserves.
Breakfast: bread rolls stale, croissants burnt and raw dough inside, coffee machines didn't work properly. Bacon not cooked. Very crowded with lots of tour groups all trying to have breakfast at once.
The wooden floor in the room creaked badly.
Had dinner in the sister hotel next door - would not recommend, for example the broccoli looked like it hadbeen boiled for hours.
Hotel forces guests to sign into fre wi fi using Facebook. If you don't 'like' the hotel you must wait one minute each time you try to connect to their wi fi. I gave up as it didn't work in my room anyway.

The supermarket next door and laundromat nearby were useful.

First we were told this was a 4 Star Hotel, NOT, more like a 3 or less. We were there for two nights with our guided tour group. The restroom was nasty - Hair on the stool and counter top, no toilet paper, used soap in the shower, and the shower head was broken, so you have to hold it to shower, (the tightening mechanism had been over tightened and broke). To get the TV to work, you have to almost be a computer engineer to figure out what sequence of buttons to push and on which remote control, (No instructions provided). The provided breakfast was ok, if you like your eggs that are so wet you would be better off drinking them. The reception desk staff were the highlight of the stay, polite and willing to help to a point. Value for your money, I would give it a 1 out of 5. I think the tour group company would do a whole lot better to find a different hotel to put its 40 + people from the tour group while staying in Venice.

We were supposed to be at the Ambassador but were randomly moved to Delfino. There was one broken room card, which was a bit odd. The free wifi was annoying and never worked properly. The bathroom sometimes made odd rumbling noises and then it would snell like sewage. DISGUSTING! Breakfast was small and not particularly great, but that doesn't matter much. However, the location was great; it was near the bus stop to get directly to Venice. The room itself was clean and spacious. The staff were kind and receptive, but they try to pawn off expensive tours, which I do not recommend. Overall, the Hotel Delfino is in a great location and serves its purpose as a place to stay outside of Venice, although it could be more refined.

We were offered an overnight stay at the Delfino prior to a cruise from Venice. It probably didn't help that we arrived close to 10pm - so we didn't really get the best "first view" of the area. The hotel was a short taxi drive from Marco Polo airport - at a cost of 35 euros. Check in was efficient and we were soon directed to our family room on the 4th floor.
Whilst clean and spacious - the room itself was bland and characterless. For some unknown reason the window shutters were fixed shut - making it feel like a cell rather than a hotel room. The usual satellite tv channels were on offer, along with a safe and plenty of space to store luggage.
The bathroom was it's redeeming feature - also providing an ample supply of toiletries.
Taking into consideration the time of our arrival we opted to "buy in" our meal from the local takeaway - as it was unclear whether restaurant facilities were available throughout the evening.
Continental Breakfast was offered at an additional cost of 10 euros each. With this in mind we decided to head for one of the local cafés.
There is also a supermarket conveniently located next door.
The main bus route into Venice stops opposite the hotel. Although due to the volume of luggage, we took a taxi to the cruise port. Another 35 euros....
We would love to return to Venice, but would not consider the Delfino. We would probably investigate hotels nearer the centre of Venice.
