We were very pleasantly surprised by the Hotel Centrale. In an expensive city like Venice, this hotel offers good value for money without many compromises. The staff were helpful, our room was well equipped and the ensuite facilities were relatively basic but clean. The public transport linking the hotel to the island is great; the buses are frequent and tickets are cheap. There are plenty of good restaurants just around the corner from the hotel.

We stayed here for two night on the second floor. Our room was for 4 people so we got a room at the end of the hall in the corner. We had a balcony but looking out was not the best. Bathroom is ok shower very small without stall so the water is splashing everywhere. Beds are hard but ok. Area is not very safe looking but we did not go out at night. Elevator is very tiny hard to fit in it. Lots of traffic at night so a bit noisy. Parking is not available hotel will offer two options, best to take euro parking for 14 eu per night. A bit of a walk but there is nothing cheaper. To go to Venice you have to get on a jam packed bus in he morning but buy tickets ahead of time at the tobacco shop next to the hotel 1.20 eu each way. Ride is about 10 min. Breakfast disappointing just sweet buns watered down orange juice and jam.

The hotel is very nice, located closely to the bus stop that takes you directly into Venice. The rooms were clean but our room wasn't very spacious. It looked like a 2 bed room, but with four beds squished in. There was no lock on the bathroom door, although that wasn't too much of a problem. Overall it was good, and cheaper than other places we stayed in during our InterRail trip in Italy.

We only stayed here for one night and thank the lord. The staff were friendly at first however, we had disturbances throughout the night with people in the room beside us knocking on our door. When checking out we informed the staff and they didn't seem at all bothered. The rooms were reasonable clean however the shower was extremely small and the location of this hotel is in a dodgy area. It isn't close to the centre so not great if you want to see Venice.

The hotel is quiet and clean, but the problem was the food at the breakfast. After we've paid for breakfast, it appears that it was just for "sweet breakfast", which means almost nothing....so, we had to pay additional 5 Euros for each person for a normal breakfast. Also, there are some rumors that this hotel is not places in "so good area" as we saw some strange guys (immigrants) who sometimes were freaking me. It is not recommended to go out for girls alone in the evening time.

Room Tip: Rooms on the street site are not so quiet, especially in the morning time because of the traffic.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel with two other couples in advance of a cruise with MSC cruises and booked it through Travel Republic who offered a terrific rate for two nights B&B. This is a very busy hotel with lots of other cruisers milling about - when a bus load arrives at the same time the check in area becomes very busy and the lone member of staff was swamped making check-in a long drawn out process. We just dropped our bags and headed to the nearby town square - upon our return the backlog had cleared and our rooms were ready for us. The rooms are very small by Irish standards but typical of European low cost hotels. The room was well appointed with a small flat screen TV, compact wardrobe and a room safe (you will need to pay a daily fee to use it) the bathroom was also compact and not the cleanest I have ever seen but adequate for our short stay. Breakfast is served in two busy little rooms and consists of various breads, biscuits, cakes and some fruit - tea and coffee are also available. I think you can pay a bit extra for a more substantial breakfast with cold meats but we did not avail of this service. The staff we encountered were a bit stand-offish but I believe this is a cultural thing and should not be mistaken for rudeness. Please remember there is a daily city tax to be added to your bill. Overall I think this hotel is perfectly adequate for a short stop over in Mestre and at the price we paid represents good value (€130.00 for two nights B&B) - it is worth considering that a similar hotel in Venice would cost over ten times as much and the journey from Mestre by train takes approx. 15mins and costs approx. €5 return.

This isn't really a "Hotel", this is a germinal center for mildew and a lot of dirt. EVERYWHERE !
The shower cabine is so small, you have to open the door to wash your body with soap.
The room stinks and looks like design from 1950 and nothing has been changed since them.

This was the worst room i have ever slept, after this i canceled my Holiday and drove back to my home to relax from this horrible "Hotel"

The only way to make ist betterin the future:

Break Down the complete area and Build a new Hotel.
