“go for it.....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013

The room was spacious and airy and even had a little balcony. The bedroom and especially the bathroom were very well decorated, with a funky green light over the shower cubicle.

One criticism, however, there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Breakfast selection was good but sadly lacking vegetables such as tomato, cucumber.

Hotel was well situated for catching the bus into Venice. The nearby Mestre town center does offer some good alternatives to Venice for eating. The McOnor Restaurant does a particularly nice Spaghetti Carbonara and Hawaiian Salad.

Room Tip: 201 has a little balcony AND solid bathroom walls.

Arrived at the hotel to be presented with a Twin room, the staff were soon pleased to change us to a double. The room was spacious, modern and clean. The bathroom was very smart, with a green downlighter in the shower cubicle giving the room a whole new ambiance. The bed was comfortable and we had a small balcony. Downside there were no tea making facilities in the room, also the free room WiFi would only let one of us use our device at once. No big deal as we were there to visit Venice.

The staff were friendly and knowledgeable so we were able to get the bus to Venice with no problem and also for our home journey we were given clear directions to where to get a bus to the Airport.

The journey on the bus to Venice was not too long and the busses were frequent.

The breakfast room was large and the food was adequate for a hotel of this type. Juice was not freshly squeezed.

The gym has massage chairs, and a reasonalbe stock of equipment.

Overall a good hotel for our needs.

Room Tip: 201 has a little balcony.

Staff were very helpful, friendly and spoke English. The room was clean and functional we had a fridge, cooker, microwave. TV (with working remote lol) Good location for public transport into Venice, the hotel also provide you with very clear instructions of where and when to catch buses etc.... Breakfast was great.

Me and my wife stayed for two days. The room was very clean and cozy, large for a standard double bed. Wifi worked perfectly. Beakfast was awesome and they had free parking inside the hotel for guests.
Stop for a bus into Venice was nearby and the hotel provided the tickets free of cost.

We stayed at the Elite Hotel, Mestre in August for one night and had booked for six adults. We had two interlinked rooms which was nice, however two of us were expected to sleep on fold-up camping beds 'in the kitchenette'. The staff were friendly enough and the hotel - which we found to be more 'hostel-like' - was clean. Breakfast was reasonable however we had to walk at least 15 minutes to find any restaurants in the area. The location was one bus trip to Venice (about 15 minutes). The wifi was slow and almost impossible to use at times and could only be accessed by one person per a room at any one time. Overall this was budget accommodation and would not be on my recommendation list of places to stay.

When we got off the train we asked locals for hotel Elite on Marghera. Basically we were told elite just means special and that it wasn't the hotel name. They honed in on Maghera and sent us in the wrong direction. The hotel was very modern and the beds were nice. I found out the kitchinette in our room with clothes washer comes with an extra charge which is prohibitively expensive for washing clothes. The breakfast was expansive with many choices. There is a self laundry within a 10-15min walk up via Forte. The coin changer only gives tokens for that laundramat, so don't put in a 20 euro note like I did :(. A 5 min walk and 10 min bus ride will get you to Venice. Take a street map for Venice. It's a lot of walking. The Gondolas charge about 80 euros an hour and always take you back to the spot you got on unless you pay them extra, so don't think of it as a water taxi. The local wine was excellent 10-15 euros a bottle. Our return trip to the hotel late that night was difficult. Couldn't find the exact bus the hotel had recommended, so we were dropped off by a non English speaking bus driver 4-5 blocks from the hotel late at night in an unfamiliar area with him gesturing and giving directions in Italian. Not good for tired feet.

We stayed at this hotel for one night in July 2013. We booked a twin room and were located on the 4th floor. The room was a good size, and we had a view of a canal outside our window. The shower glowed Green which was different. We had a minifridge in the room which was great for keeping a couple drinks/beers cold for us. The beds were comfortable no complaint on my sleep.

The check in was a little bit slow, and the wifi is a bit ridiculous as they provide you with access but only one person can be on it at a time. Since there were two of us in the room we couldnt be on it at the same time, which we were only in the hotel at night and before bed which is the time we both want to be on it. This was so inconvenient and something they should fix. You should at least offer 2 people access per room.

The location was a little bit far from mestre station, you had to take the bus, but it does stop right infront of the hotel. The hotel to go to Venice is actually right behind the hotel as well and brings you directly there in about 15 minutes. It isn't very close to any restaurants, you got a good 15-20 minute walk but once you do there are a lot of great places to choose from. I found the food a lot better here then in Venice, and cheaper too.

Venice is super expensive so to stay in this area is ideal for those on a budget. The breakfast was not very good here. Really no selection, and the milk was warm, I just didn't really eat much, and I travel to Europe a lot so I am use to the Eurpean breakfast.

They do not have a luggage room here so your bag just sits beside the desk available for anyone to go through.

Overall, It was an okay stay... bang for buck, but I wouldn't book it again.
