It is a lovely place. Good location, nice staff, good breakfast. The room was perfect with its view at the piazza.
But the negative thing is a very bad air conditioning, it has no effect with the very hot weather

The staff is very freindly.
There is parking for your car.
There is a close by shuttle to Venice (200 meters walk).
The hotel is in a nice Piazza with many restaurants & shops.
It's a very good place to stay if you are in Venice for a few nights.

The location is great... You can shop nearby n during my visit there were small morning market... Lots of fruits.. Fresh i guest...the hotel within the piazza.. Thats the reason why the taxi cannot drop us at the front of the hotel...
Coffee shop down the hotel..

The room is quite small.. Cramped for 4 ppl... Small bathroom, n noisy bed....
No kettle was included... We need to go downstairs to ask for hot water...
Wifi was included... Not limitation for one device.
The receptionist is on the 2nd floor...

The staff is friendly n nice... Helpful... Free map :)

We went there with 4 huge luggage...

We traveled to Italy to visit our son who was studying abroad in Paderno Del Grappa, about 2 hours north of Venice. After doing much research, we decided to stay at the Hotel Al Vivit in Mestre; it is on the mainland, located across the lagoon from Venice. It was one of the best decisions we could have made. The location made for a great starting point daily.
Prior to our trip, we arranged for a taxi to take us to and from Marco Polo Airport to the hotel. This made the start of our trip stress free. Our car and driver were waiting for us as we left the baggage area. It was about a fifteen minute drive to the hotel, located in the historic center of Mestre facing Piazza Ferretto. Because the Piazza is a no car zone, we were dropped off just a few steps away from the hotel. Not an inconvenience at all. The front entrance was blocked off because they were installing the new elevator, (Yes, an elevator!) so we had to use the side entrance. We also had to carry our luggage up to the second floor but it was not that big of a deal.
We were greeted by Francesca, who could not have been more gracious and helpful. The entire staff is very helpful, speaks good English and helped us with all sorts of directions, bus tickets and advice through out our six day stay. We had a triple room because our son was just staying the weekend with us It had a twin, a king, and a Murphy bed. Our room was clean and comfortable but I thought something about it made it not bright and cheery (the wallpaper?) and somewhat cramped but I'm sure this was due to the Murphy bed being down. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was a decent size and very clean. The room overlooked the Piazza, which we loved. However, during the busier summer months, I could see how this would be very noisy at night. It is in an open square and the noise level seems to echo at night. We were there during the off season but there is still plenty of activity in the square. We preferred this side of the hotel and enjoyed the ambiance. Things seemed to quiet down by 11:00pm. Breakfast and free internet was included in our room rate.
We started each morning with the breakfast buffet which was quite good: fresh fruit, toast, coffee, juices, cereal, croissants, jam, sweets (I loved the pastry puffs with nutella inside!), cakes, ham and cheese. There was a basket of fresh eggs and an electric vessel with hot water for you to make soft or hard boil eggs. Everything was fresh and the breakfast room was very bright, welcoming and clean.
There is a coffee machine in the main room but I think it is more for hot cocoa maybe?! Do not use it for coffee!!! The server is more than happy (and I think it is part of her job) to make you a cappuccino or espresso with the espresso machine they have at the bar.
It is just a short walk to the bus which takes you from Mestre to Venice and takes approximately 15 minutes. It runs very frequently both ways. We also did a couple of day trips by train to Milan and Vicenza. Venezia Mestre is one of Venice's two most important railway stations, the other one being Venezia Santa Lucia, a terminal station on the island of Venice. Santa Lucia station's main doors are usually closed at night, the Mestre station is always open and people can get on one of the night trains from here. Another great reason to consider Mestre!! The walk from the Mestre Train Station takes about 20 minutes. I’m sure you could take a bus but it is a straight walk once you leave the piazza and we had no problem with this. We purchased our train tickets at the train station with no difficulty. Remember to validate your train tickets BEFORE you get on the train! The machines are generally located at the entrance of the track that the train is on.

After touring Venice all day and hearing the noisy clatter from the wheels on luggage rolling over the cobblestones everywhere there, it was a pleasure to return to the lively piazza which was full of local families every evening. It was away from the thick tourist crowds in Venice and we chose to eat here almost every night.

We would stay here again and recommend Hotel Al Vivit without hesitation!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the Piazza are noisier but that's to be expected. Do close the shutters on the outs...

Stayed at the Al Vivit in October, 2012. Great hotel. Pricing was fantastic considering that most of Europe is overpriced. Room was beyond the description of their web site and the company that owns the hotel , it appears has poured money into this place. The room had a great feel and look to it and was very comfortable. The breakfast was the best of the comp breakfasts we had in Italy. The second best think about the Vivit is the location. It is only a bus ride into Venice and very short under 10 minute walk to the bus. The piazza the Vivit is on it fantastic. We arrived on a Sunday which is the day all the locals come out and walk, socialize and hang out in the Piazza. A suggestion on getting to the Vivit from the train station, don't walk! It is a hike so take a cab.

Great location in Mestre, with easy access to buses into Venice and from/to airport. Very friendly and helpful, including help with luggage. Breakfast was the best in our 12 day trip in Venezia, the woman in charge was cheerful and a delight to have around at breakfast time. Room comfortable and size fine.

The hotel was very nice, but we were a little disappointed with the service we received. No help was offered with our bags, and nor was it offered to a young couple checking in just before us who were trying to get a baby and pushchair, as well as their bags, upstairs with no lift. Rooms were nice, and breakfast was very good. The biggest hassle we faced was trying to find the parking lot. We were given a small map when we arrived, but still got quite lost. Parking was on a very small section about 200 metres from the hotel. Suggestion - a sign on the parking lot would be helpful, something like "Parking, Hotel Vivit" perhaps. Location of the hotel was good, and it was nice to be in a pedestrian area. No, I wouldn't stay here again. First impressions really do count.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, do without the view as the square can be quite noisy. If you have a renta...
