“Great choice to explore Venice from.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2013

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Hotel Al Vivit. It was a fantastic choice, the staff were very very helpful and the service was first class. They were happy to provide bus, water taxi and airport bus tickets. The bus stop is about 700 metres away and the journey to Venice takes 20 minutes. These buses are every 15 mins or so.

1.30 Euro each way for Venice bus
6.00 Euro for airport bus
7.00 Euro for a water taxi

(Various deals are available if you wish to book multiple numbers of tickets).

Buffet breakfast was plentiful and extremely fresh. The room we stayed in (201) had views of the Piazza, was spacious enough and was classically decorated. We could not fault it. There was also free Wifi on floor 2.

The hotel is situated in the centre of a Piazza with several restaurants and coffee shops nearby, although it is attached to 'Oc Onor's' (it's supposed to be Irish???). This offers excellent value and has very friendly staff. We ate there every evening. It is ideal being so close to the hotel especially after a day of exploring Venice.

Overall I would strongly recommend this Hotel if you are choosing somewhere to stay away from Venice itself.

Room Tip: Room 201 has great views.

Thank-you so much for such a wonderful stay. Hotel Al Vivit is not only a great alternative to staying in Venice, but in itself, it is a great place located on a wonderful square. Shopping and wandering opportunities abound, and returning from Venice is both refreshing and feels like returning home. The square is full of locals, feels safe, and is well lit. Staff is top notch!!! If we ever return to the area, we will definitely consider returning to Hotel Al Vivit. Thank-you!

Room Tip: Ask for a room not facing the square to avoid street noise. Also, our 'apartment' had a wond...

We stayed there for 7 nights and it was a great experience. A lovely hotel, fabulous staff (especially the 2 ladies at reception) and a good location. Hotel is easy to find. It is located in a nice square with plenty of shops and restaurants. We had a triple room, and it was spacious and nicely appointed. The room was very clean.
The entire staff (especially Francesca) is very helpful, speaks good English and helped us with all sorts of directions, bus tickets and advice through out our stay.

I have just returned from a long weekend at the Hotel Vivit. The Hotel is in a lovely location inside the main square and makes it easy to reach everywhere in the town.
I was in room 105 which was a beautiful new room with a balcony overlooking the square. It was fantastic except as it was over the square it was very noisy, all day and late into the night...this of course is not the hotel's fault and I am sure I could have moved had I asked. This room did give me a great view of the square where there were nightly shows. All of the Reception staff (especially the 2 ladies) were fantastic and very helpful.

This was my first tip to Venice so the location was good as I could just jump in a taxi from the airport (35Euros). I eventually found the bust stop to get to Venice (I caught the 4L but there are others) and it took 15 minutes to get there. I then bought a 12 hour water bus ticket and revelled in sailing up and down the canal seeing all of the sights.

There is an N1 from Venice back to Mestre but the one day I did come back late I caught a taxi which cost me 29Euros, so not too bad.

I had a great stay at the Hotel Vivit, but not I am more comfortable with finding my way around Venice I would probably stay close to the centre.

All in all though this was a lovely hotel.

Room Tip: I had 105 over the square which was fantastic, but I am a light sleeper so in hindsight would have p...

The hotel was excellent. Located in a beautiful square in Mestre the hotel offers an excellent base for exploring Venice and the region.

It is only 10 min ride by bus or train to Venice St Lucia train station by the Grand Canal. The bus stop is located five min away from the hotel and bus no 7 will take you straight to Venice. The train station of Mestre (where you can also take the shuttle to Treviso Airport) is about 15-20 min walk from the hotel or a 5 min taxi ride.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They printed out bus schedules and directions for us and provided any other help needed. The hotel in general has a new feeling about it, everything is in excellent condition. The room was great. Quite spacious it had a small corridor with a warderobe separated from the main room (so there were in fact two rooms). The bathroom was excellent, again brand new in excellent condition and plenty of amenities, towlels, etc. The room was well furnished, air co and large flat screen TV, good selection of local and international channels. Mini bar in the room, decent prices.

Breakfast was very good, nice selection of cold and hot, pastry, ham & cheese, fresh eggs that you can cook yourself to your liking (boiled not fried). Excellent Italian coffee of all kinds. The hotel is located in a nice square with plenty of shops and restaurants. We had dinner there on two evenings, it was excellent food, big portions for reasonable money a lot less expenssive than in Venice in a lot friendlier environment!

All in all we recommend this hotel as an excellent alternative and great value for those exploring Venice and the region. It is a lot quiter and friendlier than Venice and you can explore the region by train (the Mestre station has good connections so you don't have to go back to Venice).

This hotel was a great alternative to a hotel in Venice. The staff was exceptional, the location was good - we were lucky enough to get a small space next to the hotel - and the breakfast was one of the best I have had in Europe....a very large selection. The egg boiler was a new phenomena - almost cracked a raw egg before I realized those little baskets in boiling water were for the eggs. We had a triple room, and it was spacious and nicely appointed. Would definitely recommend. The bus ride to Venice was very reasonable - 1.30 euros each way and it ran frequently.

We have stayed in this hotel several times now and have always found it very enjoyable. The staff are friendly and very helpful and it has always been spotlessly clean. The breakfast is great with a good choice. It is a cheap bus ride away from Venice and we have always used it as a base for exploring this area.

Room Tip: We have tried the superior rooms which were on the side and also the standard rooms which overlook...
