“ITALIAN CHARM”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

We have just returned from spending 3 lovely days at HOTEL AL VIVIT and we were pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with our choice of hotel. The primary reason is the location in lovely piazza and while we were there a festival of sorts was being held and there were tents set up with beautiful Italian foods, flowers and all sorts of products. There are numerous restaurants and outdoor cafes to enjoy a spritz or glass of wine and people watch while dining.
Although our room was small, it was clean and the bathroom was recently upgraded and had a huge shower. There was also a small balcony from our room and it was lovely to be surrounded by flowers. Our room was literally under the near by church bells which we enjoyed You are within walking distance to the bus which will take you to the train in about 10 minutes, and from there Verona, home of Romeo and Guilletta, is only a little over on hour away. The breakfast room and the small terrace was a lovely setting to enjoy our breakfast. The offerings were more that adequate and the staff very attentive.
We were pleased that we decided to spend our three days in Mestre before our cruise rather than the hustle and bustle of Venice. A cab from airport to the outside of the piazza where the hotel is located was 30 euro but after a long flight we felt it worthwhile. The price of a cab into Venice to begin our cruise was 40 euros but the advantage is that the cab can deliver you and your luggage, literally to the steps of the cruise terminal thus avoiding finding your way over bridges or through crowds.
We would highly recommend Mestre and the Hotel Al Vivit to anyone considering a trip to the Venice area..
Hotel Al Vivit exceeded our expectations.

The Hotel Vivit in Venezia Mestre Italy is a very good hotel positioned in a wonderful big Square containg the Cathedral, various beautiful shops, snack bars, Cafes and a gelateria. Besides all this it is a pedestrian zone.
The Hotel itself though it is in a square full of people all the time is in a very quiet position. So one can relax and enjoy himself in the evening after his visits to the wonderful gem of the Adeiatic - Venezia, the unique city all built on small islands where cars and all kinds of other transport do not exist.
Back to Hotel Vivit. It was great staying some nights there. The staff is wonderful and helpful, the rooms are clean and tidy and the breakfast is very plentiful. You will find whatever you desire even home made coffee.
We propose this hotel to whoever wants to visit Venezia. Transport there is not very far away: just a two three minute walk and one will find himself in Via Carducci from where you catch a bus and be in Piazzale Roma Venice in about twenty minutes. The price for a night stay for two persons is also quite affordable. Members of the straff are found very helpful with maps indicating all you would like to know.
Keep the good work up. Hope to see you again soon.

Room Tip: From the train station get a taxi. it is not that expensive. between 10 and 15 euros.

We chose this hotel rather than staying in Venice and were not disappointed. Firstly, the staff were brilliant & very helpful. The breakfast was very good indeed with plenty of choice & constantly being refreshed. The hotel itself is very pleasant & situated in a lovely piazza. The rooms are generous & well presented. All in all, a great choice & would definitely recommend.

Most European hotels claiming to be a 4 star is nothing less than a 2 star but Hotel Vivit is a 5 star in the disguise of a 3 Star.
I booked the hotel based on TA reviews and was expecting something average to good in terms of rooms , layout, etc but was totally taken by surprise. Though the hotel was small it was immaculate interns of design, layout, etc and it was really charming.
Me and my family was staying in the quadruple room since the suite was not available and we really liked the room and if only they had a bath Tub then it would have been great. The design of the room was very nice with a big Mural on the back of the bed and even the TV was placed inside a frame which was a nice touch. The bed was comfy and good and the design of the bathroom was nice as well even though small and has a bidet as well.
The staff at the reception Giuessepe, Franesca and Frieda were all smiles and friendly .
Breakfast was a good spread and my kids enjoyed and you either can have in the dining room or on the terrace. Wifi was available but intermittent nevertheless served the purpose .
The location is very nice in a piazza with trendy shops and restaurants and I really liked it ,
It is better to have this as a base to explore Venice . You take the number 7 bus in a nearby bus stop and you are in Venice in 15 mts. It is much better than staying at a hotel in Venice as they are expensive and very inconvenient in terms of accessibility.
I would totally recommend this hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights over the easter holidays. About a 10 minute taxi ride from the train station (€12). All the staff on reception were very friendly, efficient and helpful. We arrived early, before our room had been readied and the staff were happy to look after our bags in reception. Reception is on the 1st floor, accessed by the elevator, they were also able to sell us Venice Cards.
We booked a suite, did expect it to be 2 separate rooms as in other hotels or at least the sleeping areas to be separated by sliding doors but it was a very large room (having walked past some of the others when they were being cleaned - more than twice as large). This was our only niggle as we had our teenager with us. During the day you could hear the music from the bar downstairs but no noise at all when it mattered - all got very restful sleeps. The bathroom had a jetted bath and shower which was fun once we worked out how to use it.
Breakfast was superb, lots of choice of pastries, cakes, cheeses & hams - do not expect a full cooked british breakfast. You can also boil your own eggs. Coffee machine and lots of tea varieties.
The bus to Venice is a 10 minute gentle walk away.
Lots of restaurants in the square of the hotel and near by.
Definitely get more for your money when compared to Venice.

It was a pleasure to be there, everybody was really kind with us. The hotel was also nice and the area is beautiful . There was a Carneval when we were there and only that hotel was nice in Venice. Thank you, we will go there in the future for sure.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter

the staff in hotel was first class but the were to many problems with the hotel that would negate me from ever staying there again...pros staff and location(located in the center of a stip mall)..cons the room didn't have air cond and when opened the windows was attacked my mosquitos , internet was not reliable, breakfast was not enjoyable, and location was noisy given the church clocks and street cleaners...the major issue was the lack of air conditioning and the inability to open a window due to the several mosquito bites that were inflicted.. also at the end when we requested a cab we were provided with a gypsy cab to the airport which was a 15 min ride and cost 40 euros..
