We stayed here for 2 nights prior to our cruise and one night after.Getting to Mestre from the airport was easy using the bus.We picked up a map of Mestre from the information desk at the train station and set off on what we thought was a easy 15 minute walk to the hotel...wrong! We followed the map but must have missed a turning or the hotel is wrongly located on tripadvisor. After an hour of walking in the baking heat at mid day pulling 2 large suitcases we still hadn't found the hotel. We asked directions from a couple of locals and backtracking we eventually found it.On hindsight we should have jumped in a taxi at the train station and would have been there in 5 minutes.( we did this when returning home)The hotel is nothing flash but was adequate and reasonably priced and after all we were only sleeping there.Getting into Venice was easy as the bus stops outside the hotel and it only takes about 20 mins. However you cant always buy tickets on the bus.We did on our first day and then bought a 48 hour ticket when we got to Venice which is great value as you can use it on buses and the vaporettas. However after the cruise we wanted to go back into Venice after dropping our bags off at the hotel and again they wouldn't sell us tickets. When asked what we could do the driver just shrugged their shoulders. We stayed on the bus but spent an anxious journey hoping no inspectors got on the bus.Anyway back to the hotel, granted it is a bit dated but we found it clean and the owners were very friendly and helpful we had an early check-in on our the day after our cruise which was great as we could get back into Venice straight away. There is a small local bar across the road which is very friendly and we bought a couple of bottles of beers to take out. There is a restaurant next door to the hotel but I don't think its run by the hotel. It was open one night but not on the Saturday.Best bet is to eat in Venice before returning as there isn't much around.
Breakfast was typically continental but plenty of choice. We had a fab time in Venice and if you don't mind a little commute then this reasonably priced hotel ticks all the boxes.

Room Tip: Room on first floor at the front was large and had windows on 2 sides.

No frills hotel within 30 minutes by bus from historical Venice. Clean, comfortable and pleasant staff. I stayed there as part of a weekend package with lastminute.com which had been billed as four-nights. Imagine my surprise upon finding out after paying (non-refundable) that two of those nights were to be spent in an overnight coach. I ended up really out of pocket as I had to buy flights seperately! I will NEVER use that rip-off company again.

We stayed at this hotel for one night before our cruise and two nights after.

The hotel is ideally situated for ACTV bus number 7 to and from Venice and Mestre train station. Price for a single ticket is 1.3 Euros (June 2014), regardless of your destination. You can buy return bus tickets or travel passes for 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours etc. depending on your preference. The passes entitle you to unlimited bus travel and also (more importantly) travel on the water buses (Vaporetto), which is excellent value as each single Vaporetto ticket costs 7 Euros.
(We spent a whole day island hopping – Murano, Burano, Lido etc. on the Vaporetto)
There is a newspaper stand opposite the hotel which sells tickets and passes but is closed on Sundays, so buy your Sunday tickets the previous day or get a pass.
Further information – ACTV bus No. 15 takes you to and from the airport, stopping at Mestre train station. The No.7 bus stops are opposite the station in a street called Via Cappuccina. There is also an Airport Express coach to and from the train station which costs 6 Euros. A taxi from the airport to the hotel costs approx 50 Euros. Walking from the train station to the hotel will take about 20 minutes but, in my opinion, may be a struggle for people with luggage, especially when it’s hot.
Be aware, the ACTV buses can get absolutely packed and have no air conditioning making some journeys really uncomfortable and unbearably hot.

There are a few restaurants close to the hotel, none of which we tried, and a bar next door serving reasonably priced drinks (eg 2 Euros for a glass of wine, 5 Euros for a beer) but this closes at 10pm. There is a bar/cafe opposite the hotel which stays open until whenever, prices similar to the bar next door.

Breakfast in the hotel was perfectly adequate - choice of tea or coffee (no charge for extra cups), orange juice, bread, toast, cereal, cooked meats, yogurts, fresh fruit and a good selection of pastries.
Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The air conditioning unit in our room sounded like it was working but the air coming out was not cold. Opening the window did a better job.
Although there is a sticker in reception showing prices for storing luggage, we were not charged for this service.
There is a small local tax (couple of Euros pppn) to pay but this is typical so no complaints.

If you’re looking for a very expensive 5 star hotel in the centre of Venice you shouldn’t even be reading this review. If you’re looking for a comfortable, friendly, cheap hotel and are prepared to use public transport, then add this to your list of options.

We were well looked after at this hotel by very helpful staff. The room was large and clean with a very comfortable bed. The en suite was also pretty large for a budget hotel. This hotel is right opposite the bus stop into Venice, and newsagent on the corner sells tickets the buses/water buses etc. The hotel breakfast was fine, I don't know what people who moan about it usually have for breakfast but cereals or yoghurt and toast were plenty for us.

Room Tip: We had room 118 and were very pleased with it

stayed one night before cruise from venice then 2 nights on return . hotel very good and value for money /. ideally located for bus no 7 into venice or bus 15 to airport . 15 mins walk to rail station where you can get a coach to airport for just 6 euros each person.
no need for expensive taxis . excellent pisa restaurant 300 metresup road called chickcheree , walk up road following bus route and turn right down side rd sighned s barbara.
Hotel comfortable clean and friendly all you need for a stay without having to pay top prices.
Tip buy a 36 or 48 hr travel card which allows you travel on all buses and water buses within venice very good value.

Lara and her husband looked after us and our Canadian friends for the week we stayed at the hotel .They helped with the bus numbers and times to get us to Venice they told us where to get the tickets from where they speak English . They also run a restaurant witch we went too , the food was wonderful . As we had a car , they lent us maps so we could work out where to go and gave us advice on what to see and the best times

Room Tip: Do not be put off by first sight rooms are quiet

Firstly, I must say that this hotel is not in Venice proper; it is in an uninspiring suburb about 25 minutes by bus from Venice. The hotel is basic but clean and the staff are helpful. The rooms are reasonably comfortable, but the beds we had were small and the air conditioning didn't seem to work. Bathroom (shower only) was ok, with clean towels each day. Bus stops are literally across the road so it is quite easy to get in and out of Venice. But it can be tiring being out all day, and it is not really practical to come back to the hotel during the day as this would mean you would lose a couple of hours of prcious time in Venice. There is a small resturant next door to the hotel, but we didn't try it. The area is not really for tourists. There are no shops, bars, etc nearby. It is simply a cheap place to stay when visiting Venice. It is quite a way from the train station, which is also where the airport bus stops, and ths can mean a couple of expensive taxi rides if you have a lot of luggage.
Breakfast at the hotel is included: it is basic: juice cereals and cake. Nothing cooked and not very good coffee. Basically, you get what you pay for.
The good thing is that it is cheap, it's near the bus stops, and the bus is included in the Venice transport card that you need for the vaporetti anyway.
While I would not stay here again, I would not criticise it too much, as it is basiclly OK.
