“good value for the money, great location for visiting Venice”
Reviewed 9 January 2014

location and price are the main reason for staying in this hotel. a few minutes walk to the train station and 15 minutes by train to Venice ... rooms and breakfast are solid. no wifi in rooms.
good value for the money, great location for visiting Venice!

Room Tip: ask for a room on the upper floors for the view of the city

Very clean, comfortable and convenient!

I stayed at Hotel Ambasciata in Mestre while visiting Venice with my mother, last December (2012).
This proved to be a very good choice. Back then, we paid 39 Euros/night through www.booking.com

The hotel is small, yet very well equipped and it seemed recently built or remodeled. Our room was small, as you would often find while in Europe, yet comfortable and clean; with 2 single beds and a private bathroom. The view from our room was nothing special, just roof tops. It snowed lightly only one night. The hotel manager provided very good service and helpful information. On our last day, we checked out in the morning and were allowed to leave our luggage stored at the hotel ,until we left the city, later that night.

We would normally have our meals while visiting the city. So, can't say much about eating at the hotel.

The hotel is about 300 meters (~1000ft) from the train station, "Stazione Di Venezia Mestre". From there, you could take a 10-minute train ride to "Stazione Di Venezia Santa Lucia", which is where you want to go when visiting the main Venice island. From there, you could take the Vaporetto to the Murano island, among other places. We would buy our train tickets directly at the station, as the trains were very frequent and there was no reason for more planning. You could also buy them at the Trenitalia website (www.trenitalia.com). A single one-way ticket would cost about 2 Euros; I believe there were some packages available too, not sure though.

All in all, a very convenient place to stay!

We had visited Venice/Mestre in the last weekend. We slept 3 nigths in this peaceful hotel. The staff was very friendly with us. There was a safety parking place for our car in the courtyard.
The Mestre railway station is in the end of the hotel's street. The train ticket costs 1,20 EUR and the trip is 12 minutes to Venezia Santa Lucia station.

The hotel breakfast is delicious. The reception clark recommended different restorants nearby for the dinner in Mestre.

Room Tip: 403 and 203

My 35 year old son & myself stayed. We wanted good-value access to Venice without the Venice cost. And we got it! A very ample breakfast, a comfy clean room & quite friendly staff. We wanted to leave our bags there for the day when we checked-out, which was not a problem. The station was a 5 minute walk...then a 10min train trip, and you are in Venice.
The only minor negative was that our shower was small, but this is definitely not a show-stopper. We will return asap to this pleasant, good value Hotel. Brian

Room Tip: My son & myself are both approx. 80kgs. If you are of a larger frame, the shower in our room mig...

Positives.- Clean, reasonable, good breakfast, good location. Very friendly, helpful staff, wi fi in room an added bonus. Handy for station, close to shopping but quiet area.
Negatives: no bar in hotel, no coffee making facilities, charged for secure parking (still better safe than sorry). Rooms a bit dated
If you just need a room fine. If like us you are only there for 1 night and would like to chill inside hotel and have a meal and a cold beer, no.
We would stay there again but really prefer a better hotel. When booking, I got the name wrong, so it was a mistake but definitely not a disaster

From our experience, Venice was an extremely costly destination more so, because we were in the peak of the tourist season in August. But this hotel was budget-friendly and was worth the money. Located at a stone's throw distance from the Mestre station made it easy to commute to Venice. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and we got good service. However the air condition was basic and the room cooled down after almost 3 hours.
Highly recommended if you are on a budget trip to Venice.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights. The hotel has an amazing position - it's close to the train station, yet the street it's located on is very quiet (especially when compared to other streets that close to the station).

The staff was friendly and helpful (we asked for quiet rooms on a higher floor before our arrival and our wish was satisfied), cleaning was OK. Breakfast is fine but the selection is not very wide so if you stay for more than 3 nights, it might get repetitive.

Our room (#204) would have been quiet, if the door's locking mechanism hadn't been so loud! An air-conditioner was full of dust but it worked. Our bathroom and especially the shower were very small but the worst things were - a strip (20 cm x 100 cm) of black mould on the bathroom ceiling, located above the bathroom window and the fact that we were only able to use our toilette sideways because the bidet was too close! The bathroom was lacking shelves, the shower sink was poor (=> water accumulation) and the door leading to the bathroom was always opening by itself.

We had an unpleasant feeling because of a very dusty lift shaft (made of glass) and it would nice to clean or change the staircase carpets.
