Good convenient small hotel near Mestre railway station with quiet rooms which have outside shutters as well. Small breakfast room with basic continental breakfast provided. Airconditioning in rooms and good standard of bathroom.

Room Tip: Choose rooms upstairs.

I decided not to stay in Venice and pay the prices - besides my bus for Austria the next morning was early and I didn't want to have to fuss with Venice/bags/etc. in early morning - so i stayed here. Was not disappointed. Run by a "Chinese" family that is very kind and full of good advice. The room was large, clean and the bed comfy. I had plenty of space to spread my photography gear out and edit, clean, prep, and just take stock. Nice and quiet location BUT just steps from the train station. For the cost and ease into Venice I will stay here again.

Room Tip: Decided to stay in Mestre instead of going into Venice (Islands) and found this gem - well worth the...

Excellent considering the price - the room was very clean, and the location was fantastic. I paid 50 euros for the night. Also, they had a nice little Chinese restaurant next to the hotel. Would come here again.

We had come off a cruise and we were looking for somewhere convenient to Marco Polo Airport for our flight the following day. We checked into Hotel Cortina around 1 pm and found the staff very courteous. The room was plain but very clean and a nice bowl of fresh fruit was there for us.
We were able to return for the afternoon to Venice as the Maestro Train station is just across the road from the hotel and the train took about 7 minutes to Piazzale Roma on the Island and cost 1 euro.

We had a comfortable night's sleep and a nice breakfast. We had earlier the week before paid 280 a night for a hotel in Venice . Cortina charged less than 90.00. If we go to Venice again its going to be to the Hotel Cortina and the other bonus was the bus stop very close to the hotel taking us to Marco Polo for about 6 euros. Only word of caution is that I wouldn't stray too far from the hotel at night. But fine to walk 1 minute across from train station.

the clerck at the desk in "hotel cortina" was unplesent, look at us and made a face as if wondering how much he can ripp us off - saying 90 eoro for one night, an extremly high price for a rotten b&b , without elevator and small building, the hour was late but we tried to find another hotel/b&b in more reasonable price, once we couldnwt find one we came back into cortina- desperate for a place to sleep.

the price jumped into 104 eoro. asking the clerck why does he rise the price, he told us something about parking the car in the hotel's parking space, WHO HEARD ABOUT HOTEL WHO CHARGES EXTRA FOR A PARKING?! and just to be clear- we were the only car in there!!! and as a final hit- a city tex of 2 eoro for each one, i mean- if he told us the price in the first time, what ever, but he gave us that dogy, feeling that we can't do nothing about him being ripping us off. AFTER CHEACKING THE HOTEL WEB SITE WE DISCOVERD THAT THIER PRICE FOR ONE NIGHT IS 90!!!!!!!! EORO!!! AND THAT THERE'S A "FREE PARKING SPOT!!!! WE WERE ANGRY.... we got a prison like breckfast, lame and poor, one that really does not fit the high price, by the way we were on the last floor with no elevatore, after chech out we asked the morning manajer for storing our luggage and leave the car there , he started claiming 10 eoro for 2 hours of parking, when an outside parking was 12 for a hole day or 1.5 for an our, didn't agreed in any way to store our luggage , telling us to park out, and in some point "NO SPEAK NO EANGLISH" start chatting in chainess...
we had the worst expirience ever, , in mestre- propbly the ugliest city in all italy,
we can only advice not to travel there, and if you already there- do yourself a favor and stay away from cortina hotel.

Room Tip: stay away, no elevator, horibble steff, unplesent staying, deceiving customers!!!

The people who work there are very courteous. The service is excellent. Don't expect a fancy hotel. The breakfast is not great but varied. The hotel is simple, clean and right in front of the train station. There's a private garage to park the car. It's exactly what we needed. Great job :)
