Six of us stayed for 2 weeks at Hollen and we all had a fantastic holiday. The house is clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped - everything you need is here. There is an enormous garden surrounding the house, making it very private, and this was great for the kids who spent exploring and playing. BBQs on the patio on warm sunny evenings are a particular fond memory of our stay. The local area is picturesque and quiet and is the perfect place for a relaxing break. If you enjoy cycling, like us, the Nantes-Breast canal is very close and offers miles of safe bike paths in an idyllic setting and you can discover the many small towns that the canal passes through. It was great cycling to Châteauneuf-du-Faou on market days and enjoy freshly made, and incredibly cheap, crepes and galettes. There's also a great choice of coastal destinations that are about a 1 - 1.5 hour drive. I would highly recommend visiting the town of Kerlouan - there are some beautiful and quiet beaches around this area and the kids had a great time finding crabs and small fishes in all the rock pools.

In a beautiful and peaceful location in a beautiful part of the country, the house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The owners and their local deputies could not have been more helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

“Lovely home, great location”
Reviewed 25 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Hollen was exactly what we needed for a two week holiday with 3 kids. A spacious comfortable home, providing everything you could need. And located right in the middle of the western end of Brittany. I suppose, if you wanted to spend every day on the beach, then you might want to be nearer the sea, but if you want a bit of variety, then its central location meant you could shoot off north, south, east or west every day and see something different. Or you could stay put, and enjoy the countryside around and about. It's worth pointing out that the bedrooms are in two groups and not connected at 1st floor level - the master bedroom is up one set of stairs, and the other three rooms are up a different staircase. That might be a disadvantage for young families. Or it might be just what you want! In our case, the children had their own space, which they seemed to enjoy.

“Lovely cottage in a lovely location”
Reviewed 30 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We stayed for two weeks with our (almost) two year old and had a fantastic time. We would certainly go back again.

There was more than enough room in the cottage for us to have a relaxing holiday. It was an ideal location for exploring Brittany as we were able to head north, south and west easily. The garden was lovely and was a great setting for barbeques in the evening with our son exploring the large garden.

The whole process of enquiring about the cottage, through to confirming the booking and getting keys and details prior to arriving was smoothly handled by the owner. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome to rent the cottage.

“Great location and a comfortable and exceptionally well equipped cottage, a real home from home.”

Lovely cottage close to the hamlet and the canal ( both within walking distance) and yet it felt like we were in the depths of the country-side. The location was perfect for visiting both the coast and the "mountains". Hollen itself is a delight, we didn't have the best weather and we were grateful that the house was light airy and spacious and the lovely log fire on a wet evening was a delight. The fact that the house has two "sides" with bathrooms and bedrooms in both halves would make it a great place to stay with grandparents or teenagers as each party could enjoy their own space. To have two "reception rooms" on the ground floor was a luxury for two of us but would be a real boon if you were staying with six - TV could be watched/games played in one area while those who preferred could settle down in the large lounge with a book. The house is exceptionally well equipped and furnished - we couldn't think of anything that was "missing" and the detailed instruction manual a real boon when it came to using the kitchen. We certainly intend to return to Hollen and perhaps on the next visit will get to use the lovely garden.
