“Small but Friendly”
Reviewed 29 November 2013

This is the perfect place to stay if you plan on catching a boat to the Aeolian Islands. The boarding dock is across the street at the marina. There aren't a lot of restaurants close by, but plenty of pizzerias in the area, and shops that sell fresh bread and arancini (rice balls with meat).
The staff is most accommodating, and lent us books and information on the islands. They have a garage close by, and by all means use it. Breakfast was rather meager, with two croissants and juice or coffee. The second morning of our stay they added a plate of salami and bread and jams. Our room was extremely small, but served our needs.

Thank you for your positive review! We are glad you liked our position that is very conmfortable indeed, for people who plan to catch a boat or an hydrofoil to the Eolian Islands. When our restaurant is closed during winter season we are happy to suggest to our guests nice and good places where to eat that are not just turistic places but the same restaurants and pizzeria we would go ourselves. We are also happy to give useful advices about places to see here in Milazzo and in the Islands. Unfortunately you were here in autumn so our breakfast is the Italian one that is not exactly the same coloured and full of fruit and cold cuts that we propose daily in summer; nevertheless, as you said, we tried to amend the day after buying something more suitable for an international breakfast. As the name of our Hotel annouces, we are petit, and of course our rooms have not been tought for long holidays but for those travellers who are looking for some rest before to leave to the Islands and start their real holiday. We hope we will host you again.

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent place to stay on the way to or back from the Aeolian islands and Milazzo is worth a visit.
The room was a little small but the bathroom was fine and everything is environmentally friendly.

Thank you for your review! We know that our position is really important for our guests and above all for those who plan to go the the Eolian Island. We are happy you liked your stay here and the work of our staff. It is true, as the name of our hotel says, we are "petit" but this gives us the chance to pay more attention to little details. We are really glad you appreciate Milazzo and our being bio and ecofriendly. We hope to host you again.

We stayed here when our ferry got cancelled. We were travelling with some Italians who arranged the stay for us at a very good price. The breakfast was one of the best out of the hotels we stayed. Organic fresh fruit and yogurt, croissants, ham and cheese etc.. the location to the port is ideal meaning the next day we could get the early ferry. On our return from the islands we stayed here again. The staff were extremely helpful in helping plan the next stage of our holiday. They recommended places to visit and even arrange a hotel for us in Siracusa (which was fantastic).

Thank you for your review. We are very pleased you decided to come back here after your first staying. We try to give our best for breakfast and not only; we are really happy to help our guests in organizing their next holiday step and we always try to give them advices as if they were our close relatives: where to go, where to eat and where to sleep. Sicily has so many wonderful places to be seen that for us it's a joy to talk about them with you. Thank you very much from all the staff.

Pleasant staff, nice big room. Quiet despite street frontage. At 99 euro severely overpriced. Typical lousy Italian breakfast. As usual with every hotel I have stayed the wi-fi only worked if you found a spot reasonably close to where the modem was situated, in this case I sat in the stairwell!

This great little hotel is only a short walk from the ferries to the islands. We had the wrong ferry schedule so we missed the ferry to Stromboli and were in a pinch. We stumbled upon the Petit Hotel where we were welcomed with open arms and friendly service! The desk attendant even called our Stromboli hotel to sort out the situation, a major bonus! The room was clean and a decent price. When we asked about a recommendation of a place to eat, they phoned up their chef and had him come in especially to make us some dinner. Overall, extremely helpful and friendly!

The best reason to stay in this hotel is that it is less than 100 yards from the ticket offices for the ferries and hydrofoils to the Aeolian Islands. Our room in the hotel was perfectly decent but not overwhelming, and the host was very helpful.

We were fortunate enough to stay at the Petit Hotel when it was still in the hands of the original owners (beginning of November 2011). Such a wonderful ethic of the perfect host, as described by other reviewers. We arrived tired and hungry and when we said we were tired to go out to a restaurant, Giuseppe ( from Lipari) made me a delicious plate of spaghetti and went out especially to buy salad fixings for a salad - even though their in-house restaurant was no longer operational. We slept in room 2 which was toward the back of the hotel and very quiet.

When we returned from Lipari a week later the new owners had taken over. There was a new feeling to the place...not as magical as before. Tho we asked for room 2 we were given a room on the side street which wasn't as quiet. Also the in room air filter wasn't working because someone hadn't changed the filter....just not quite the same.

We'd still recommend it for convenience to the ferry to the islands...as for the rest, only time will tell what the new owners do with this oasis"

Room Tip: Room 2 if you want quiet.
