“Great service, nice location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

We are the group of 11 Croatians (six adults and five children 12-15 yrs old), were visiting Tuscany willing to stay in a nice, quiet hotel with the indoor pool (and free wi-fi of course) for children entertainment. Biondi hotel was the right choice. The food was great, dinners recommended by Allesandro and his colleagues were marvelous and original Italian cousine specialties. Children spent their free time in the pool or in the lovely garden in the shade of Mediterranean trees playing cards or chess. Personnel also recommended us many interesting places to visit (Montecattini Alto, Vinci, Lucca) besides famous Firenze and Pisa. It was great vacation!

Staff: Friendly and helpful. Staff also greeted guests personally in the morning and evening.

Food: Breakfast very well done, a full selection to help yourself to including cereals, toast, eggs, cheese, meats, fruit juices, coffee and even cake! Restaurant had a nice ambience, staff very attentive, had two dinners there and they were very nice, included fresh pasta and salad.

Room: Aired and cleaned well every day, bathroom had a shower, sink, bidet and hairdryer. Wardrobe, desk, bed side tables, TV, safe and telephone. Nice bathrobe provided. Welcome pack in several languages on the desk upon arrival. I discovered that in Italy you need the European plug converter with the thinner pins (the thicker ones work in Spain and France but not in Italy). I later purchased one in ASDA very cheaply for future travels to Italy.

Amenities: Terrace with comfortable outdoor seating on the front of the hotel for sitting drinking a coffee watching the world go by. Inside reception area seating area with sofas and chairs and a bar. Very nice medium sized swimming pool and lounger area, only a little hop across the road but everybody does it! Lift as well as stairs for room access. Wi-fi also available to guests with password available from reception. I didn’t have any use for it but other people did.

Situation: Well situated at the top of the town, only 5-10 minutes’ walk into Montecatini centre where there are shops, restaurants etc. Very clean and attractive village. The large green park, wooded area and spas are located across the road and Montecatini Alto is just a short walk and funicular train ride up the hill. The train station is also a short walk away and from there you can go e.g. to the magnificent city Florence or Viareggio on the coast. Pisa and Luca are also nearby as well as the Tuscan countryside. I was happy to be staying outside of the main cities but to travel into them and then relax in Montecatini. Spent a day in Montecatini Terme and Montecatini Alto.

To summarise, I would say it’s a nice privately run hotel so you get the experience of a local hotel that’s not part of a big chain. Warm welcome and it was a pleasant stay. I’d be very happy to return for another visit.

Room Tip: New block is nice on the side of the swimming pool if you want to be directly near that area, or mai...

Stayed for a week on a coach trip in this hotel. From day one you are made to feel very welcome. Rooms are spacious and cleaned every day, excellent. Food is very good from the breakfast buffet-evening meal. Hotel offers swimming pool/sun terrace, also internet is free . Train station a short walk from hotel and fares are very cheap if you want to visit other places in Tuscany or further afield. Would recommende this hotel and would certainly go back there.

We were at the hotel for a week and travel around Tuscany area.
There is a train station a short walk away.
There is free internet.
There is parking for a nominal fee.
** Should be aware that adding municipality tax of $ 2 euro per person per day.**
The service was very good and the people that working there are very kind people.
The food at breakfast was basic, but the food matches the level of hotels in Europe.
Clean rooms & comfortable bed.
There is a lift but it is a bit slow.

Very good position. Free parking by video surveillance. Large and clean rooms. Friendly staff, especially the receptionist Silvia and waiter Alessandro. Unfortunately rooms on the street side are noisy. The breakfast buffet is good, but every day the same, so tired of after a few days. Dinner was tasty but lacking salad with the main course. All in all a pleasant experience for a good price.

Room Tip: Rooms on the oposite side off streat are quieter.

Was expecting the worst after reading some of the reviews on here but was pleasantly surprised. As part of a coach trip, we were all treated as individual guests & the staff, particularly in the restaurant, were very friendly & attentive. Food was excellent & local wines were good. The room was clean & filled our requirements. The central location made it easy to get about, both in the coach for group excursions to Florence, Pisa & Siena & for the train service into Florence which we took advantage of. Would definitely use again

Room Tip: lifts are small so if you cannot manage stairs (126 to the fifth floor - & there is a 6th!) make...
