Good Hotel considering that ..........
- our stay was in the context of a National Holidays 'Taste of Italy' tour that was low budget.
- the food, in an Italian style was well cooked, not exciting, but we did not pay for or expect a
cullinary delight.
- our room was clean and well maintained with sufficient facilities for a short stay.
- the towels provided were different but remarkably efficient so 'When in Rome ...'
- staff were polite, attentive and friendly throughout, which is more than could be said of the
coach drivers.
- our visit was in October otherwise the lack of air conditioning may have been a problem.
- the hotel is situated close to a number of shops, bars and restaurants.

Room Tip: Some rooms have a balcony - small but a definite asset.

My partner and i booked a holiday with National Holidays, Rome and a taste of Italy. This was the hotel we were SUPPOSED to stay in, but when we arrived at 11pm ish we were told that they didnt have enough room for the coach party due to the "hydraulics". What they actually meants was that they were having some problems getting water to certain rooms. we were told by members of our coach party who did stay in this hotel that they had no hot water for showers and sometimes no water al all. We were also told that the rooms were so tiny that they didnt have space for bags and such. They were supposed to have prepared a list for those of us who were to be moved to a different hotel, which they failed to do and left to the drivers discretion, who rightly declined. We were then put into a hotel 200m down the road, you can guess how happy we were seeing how it was coming up to 12 pm and we had been traveling the whole day. On arrival and throughout our breakfast and evening meals at the cassa rossa we found the staff especially the dining staff to be rude and unpleasant. The food was horrible and we had no choice for the evening meal, it was a case of eat it or dont, which we didnt and so chose to eat out instead. The breakfast menu was extremely limited and the bread tasted like it had been re-used from the night before.

Myself and my son stayed at this hotel the last week in august in a twin room. The room was spacious and had a lot of storage for your luggage, it also had air-conditioning and a mini fridge as well and was very clean and tidy. The overall look of the hotel was really nice, the staff on the front desk were very polite and friendly and very helpful if needed. There was a pool, but we were told we werent allowed to use it as it needed fixed. The restaurant was the only let down on the holiday, breakfast, was cheese ham and bread, yoghurt and cereal, and although that was at least edible, the dinner's were just atrocious and many were sent back, the waitresses were quite rude and never spoke and just ignored you if you asked for anything and slammed the plates down in front of everyone all the time. There are some shops pubs and restaurant's locally, and the town of montecatinni is just a 10 minute walk away with a lovely park and market as well. Overall the hotel is nice, but i would recommend eating out if you want a good meal.

I stayed here as part of a bus tour for 4 nights. The hotel is in a good location montacatini terme town itself is only a ten minute walk down the road. and there is a grocery shop bars and restaurants over the road. The men who are on the front reception desk are very helpful and pleasant and also speak very good english and i must say were extremely helpful. However i have to say that the restaurant staff who served us for breakfast and dinner were very rude and did not smile once ! The food was terrible whether this was because we were part of a large bus tour im not sure but it was so bad half the group left there meal. On the plus side the rooms and the hotel were very clean. We were also told by the hotel staff to lock all doors and windows and use the shutters each night as a security measure which was a little unsettling and made the room very hot and claustrophobic at night. Overall this hotel was quite nice, very clean, great reception staff but shame about the food and the rude waitresses !

I had a single room in Cassa Rossa which was spacious for my needs. The room and en-suite were spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Try speaking to them in Italian and nothing is too much trouble. There is a lift to all floors and the food is good and plentiful. I didn't get chance to use the pool, but it looked clean and well maintained. The walk down the hill into town is very nice and takes about 15 minutes, you will come across a street market partway down, which is very good and good value for prezzies for those back home. There is a Spar supermarket over the road which is very good value and the owner will make up sandwiches for you to take away.

we stayed at this hotel for 3 days with a large bus tour group in june and it is a lovely hotel, not too large and lovely helpful staff who also can speak english. The food is excellent and plenty of it and the rooms are clean and air conditioned (ask at reception for the remote). They have a large wardrobe and lots of drawer space and some rooms also have a balcony. There is also a small outside pool and a patio area to sit out in the shade to have a drink or to just relax. Have a wander around the pretty town and try the funicular railway up to the top of the hill for spectacular views and another lovely town to explore
