“Not 4 star but a nice friendly 3*”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

Room was ok but tired and needed updating, definitely not 4*. Air con was switched off during the night and late morning, which meant you either got too hot, or, opened the window and were bitten by mosquitoes!Breakfast's were fine with choices for everyone, towel's were changed daily and staff were always polite
Location was ideal,5 mins to central train station and a bit longer to the other one with the bus terminal.
Plenty of places to eat nearby, if you are not half board. There are also lots of shops close by,many with pricey labels!
Reception can book trips for you but a lot of them do start in Florence so need to get the train to start the trip (included in the price).
Easy to get to from Florence Airport on the Blu-bus (Lazzi) from just outside the airport car park to local bus station a few minutes easy walk to hotel for only 4.5 euros.
Don't forget you will need to pay a city tax of 1.4 euros per night per person up to a maximum of 7 nights before you leave.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back with a balcony ,on the quiet road .

I came home today after staying one week at Hotel Boston. I travelled with my husband and two teenage children and we all feel the same. A friendly welcome form start to end. Two well equipped rooms. Two twin beds pushed together to make a double, but that was ok as it gave you more room in the bed when it was so warm. Wardrobe, dressing table with ample mirror, 2 bedside tables and an ample sized bathroom. The rooms were cleaned daily and clean towels also. A tiny safe in the wardrobe, just enough for excess money and passports. The breakfast was a variety of hot and cold with a good variety for all palates. Eggs, bacon, franks, cheeses, ham, salami, yogurt, fruit, cereal, several breads, pastries, hot drinks and juice and mineral water. Didn't eat in the restaurant for the evening but they do a good house red for €13. A good nights sleep was had every night in an air conditioned room with a firm yet comfy bed. Far enough away from the hub but near enough to be a short walk away from beautiful shops and an atmospheric town. There's lots to say about this town, the spas, the funicolare to Montecatini Alto, the beautiful window displays and amazing gelato. Didn't feel the need to visit Florence or Pisa even though they were only a short train journey away. We have had a fantastic time in a beautiful area all finished off with an extremely enjoyable stay at the Boston. We did not want to come home.

Room Tip: We were in room 138. Good wifi but above the kitchen so a little noisy at times. Good size, off the...

We stayed at this family run hotel in the picturesque town of Montecatini as part of a tourist holiday. We stayed here for four nights in total while exploring the surrounding towns and cities. The hotel itself is well laid out, if not a bit dated. You were greeted by friendly staff who were happy to provide you with assistance if necessary. The rooms were simple – although we requested a double bed, this in reality was just two single beds squeezed together, which is quite impractical seeing as beds do have a tendency to part from one another during the night. the bathroom was very practical – however, don’t bet that you can have a shower without wetting the entire floor. There is no suction between the doors for the shower which resulted in what appeared to be a lake on the bathroom floor upon exiting the shower. This itself I found to be a very serious issue, as of course you are then left with a hazard which could end in my head cracking on the bidet. The rooms are equipped with a digital TV which we were able to watch BBC news on (and other channels for other languages were available), a make shift, wooden safe (not practical at all), air conditioning (which turns itself off between 2.00am and 6.00am every day) and a mirror. What really stood out in the room were the lovely traditional shutters, which blocked out the blazing sun, and gave you the feel of a traditional Italian hotel. Dinner was served in their dining room which was well presented, and they often offered theme nights. They served dinner in the traditional Italian way, starting with antipasti, first course (usually pasta, rice or soup), main course (‘protein’ course) and dolce (dessert). We also had breakfast each morning. The food was lacklustre. The scrambled eggs tasted like gum that you’d chewed too long and was starting to disintegrate in your mouth. That said, there was a variety for all palates. They offered a ‘happy hour’ every day which was a nice touch. The hotel is in a great area, just off the main road, and gives you the opportunity to explore the local area. The only real grumble I have is that they request you leave your key at the front desk in a slot alongside the rest of the keys. However, for a 24-hour manned reception, on three occasions there was nobody there for at least 15 minutes. Seeing as anyone could walk in the hotel, take the key and then walk back out with my valuables, I found this to be a cause for concern.

Room Tip: Don't go for a single unless you want a room the size of a cupboard!

We had a great stay once again at Hotel Boston. The food is excellent and the restaurant staff are great, but saying this all the staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and our room was perfect. It is in a great location, not far from both train stations and the town centre, Florence, Lucca and Viareggioare very accessible by the train or the bus is you like seeing local villages. The hotel overall was excellent and looking forward to our next trip. Say hello to Piccola (the dog sorry if this is not the correct spelling).

Nice hotel at excellent position. Very good value for money. Clean and spacious rooms. Nice breakfast. Too many people during breakfast time caused big queue at cafe machine. Waitress brought a cafe directly without waiting in a long queue what was really nice gesture.

This small hotel and its companion, the DaVinci across the street, were home for a week for a group of us. Our room was small -- normal for Italy -- and there were about 8 inches between the 2 twin beds. A wardrobe, 2 nightstands, and a desk with a mini-frig offered basic storage. We could have used 2 -4 more drawers to be able to unpack for the week. The bathroom had a ship's shower -- small but adequate. Our hair dryer turned out to be a flexible hose with a diagonally-cut end and limited air flow. Other rooms had a regular dryer, and I wished I'd brought mine with me. Linens were changed daily, and the room was immaculate, as was the hotel.

Our tour scheduled breakfast at the hotel, and it was fine, although we were disappointed by the canned fruit. Several dinners were also scheduled there and -- while the last night's dinner was very good -- the other meals were average to sub-par. Some went out to eat in the town, and that was a better choice during the week.

Staff was lovely!

This is very convenient to the town and within a walk to the train station to Lucca and Pisa to the west and Florence to the east. Impressive shopping and restaurants are nearby.

I'd stay there again, but bring my hair dryer and eat out!

Great hotel for a reasonable price. Location was convenient to shopping , restaurants and the many local and close by attractions. Alex (registration/front desk) and rest of staff were courteous and helpful. Although, they were unable to waive one nights fee when we found it necessary to leave earlier than planned. Apparently the problem with changes are due to the fact we had used a booking agent for the room, had we booked directly with the hotel they would not have charged us for the change ( at least that is what we were told)..
Our room was comfortable with a balcony overlooking a garden. Breakfast were good with baked apples and croissants along with all the typical fare you find in Italy
