I recently returned from a 6 night stay at the Tuscany Inn. The young staff is very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast buffet is tasty. The restaurant staff cook eggs and bacon upon request. The town of Montecatini Terme is a quiet break from the bustle of Florence. It is a 45 minute train ride from the heart of Florence. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station. The hotel has free underground parking which came in handy during a rain storm. This hotel is a great base to tour central and northern Tuscany.

Small cute and clean rooms, cheap underground parking - really nice and fast room service.
WIFI is not free though, but fair price.
Near train stations that can take you within hour to Florance or Forte Di Marmi
We loved it and really will consider to come back again if we are near.

The hotel had manually turned off all heat and air in the rooms so we had no control over how cold or hot the room became. Complimentary breakfast was okay but very limited. Desk staff friendly and somewhat helpful. Well located for walking downtown. Hotel never seemed very clean, though. Uncomfortable beds. Next to tracks with loud and frequent train.

We ended up in this hotel after we could not find any hotels in Florence. Our driving experience in Florence was a definitely one to remember. Montecatini Terme is a small town with a hill town called Montecatini Alto. This town has a "billion" hotels quoting a local and to be true I don't think he's that far off. The Tuscany Inn in a clean and new/modern looking hotel with great service and what I think is a very fair rate (80 euros for us). Room is great but the bed is a little hard and they charge for the internet. Although I think the internet should be free, we've looked in a couple other hotels in town before this one and they had no internet for the same price and they looked alot older. We actually ended up coming back to this hotel a second night after a day trip to Florence using the train (about 7 euros return trip for 45min). We highly recommend them.

They also have a bath tub in their rooms which can be very nice at the end of a long walking day in Florence.

Breakfast is included and very good.

Just returned from 6 nights 10/7/10. The Hotel is tucked off a side street that added a hour to our first day trying to find it. First the positive. Modern Hotel with A/C. Underground parking lot included in price. Dinner in hotel was good and a deal at 15 euro each. Front desk staff helpful . Plenty of hot water and a good firm bed. Internet available in the lobby for 3 euro for 30 min. The negative , Hotel overlooks the train tracks which brings bells and whistles at all hours. The hotel is 7 years old but looks twice that. Well worn and dirty in places. Housekeeping spotty, Missing towels on two occasions and unable to get a second pillow. Breakfast is something out right out of faulty towers less the warldorf salad. We went once and didn't go back. The area although very safe , did have ladies of the night working at the end of the block by the railroad crossing. All in all it did the trick but more like a quality inn than a real Tuscan experience.
