we sat in the courtyard and had a delicious glass of wine and watched the happenings going on around us. Enchanting. And the trolly ride up was fun as well.

Nice trip up the mountain in funicular. Beautiful sunset view of Montecatini Terma. "Town" was much smaller than expected. Consisted of square with some restaurants and small gift shops. Admittedly, we went at dusk so it became dark quickly and did not find other areas to explore. Definitely worth a visit if staying in Montecatini.

Had a blast here. Great lunch spot with beautiful views. Don’t miss it when in Tuscany! Beautiful Ceramica and quaint village.

I visit Montecatini every month, for many reasons, and my favorite fitness session is running to Montecatini Alto and back.

The square in Montecatini Alto is wonderful and the famous “mangia e bevi” ice cream is a good and healthy choice.

We traveled to Montecatini Alto for dinner one evening via the funiculare after a day in Florence. It was a very relaxed and enjoyable evening. There was lots of outdoor seating. What a charming place! If we come again, I would like to see this gem in the daylight.

Montecatini Alto worth a visit using the cable train ‘Funicolare di Montecatini’ one of the oldest of its type in the world … a lovely little village on top of the mountain which was a very nice experience to go visit the old medieval town and have lunch in the square
