My wife and I recently stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon and we loved it. The room was charming and spacious and we each had some of the best nights of sleep of our life. The place is very secluded and offers a quiet retreat. It is located about a 15-20 min walk (or 5 minute drive) from town which has a supermarket so for lunch we were able to buy some local products and make a great meal in the kitchen, which was fully equipped. The only downside was the pool was too cold for us to swim in but I think we stayed past the peak swimming season. The owners also do not speak any English and we do not speak any Italian but we were able to communicate with them enough to make due and they were very nice. They also gave us a complimentary bottle of their house wine and olive oil. Would definitely recommend staying here for a quiet and romantic stay in Tuscany.

We wanted to end our European adventure with a few relaxing days in Tuscany. We stayed at Podere Fontecastello...loved the farm. Chickens, olive groves, the friendly little dog, the scent of sunshine, clean earth and freshness. Close to Montepulciano and Pienza. Great roomy accommodations. There is no meal service, but hit the local supermarket and enotecas in Montepulciano for provisions and you will be fine. Each "apartment" has a small kitchenette so you have all the facilities you need. Some guests cooked pasta; we sat under the Tuscan sun enjoying wine, cheeses, meats, etc. They have a lovely pool on the grounds as well. Although the owners don't speak a lot of English, it was not an issue...they are gracious hosts and we just loved our stay here. You will feel your tension melt away in the sun.

One couldn't ask for a better location to base your exploration of Tuscany. This working farm is just on the outskirts of Montepulciano. It's a ten minute walk into town but you're surrounded by vineyards, chickens and olive groves.

We have based most of our adventures around Tuscany here. It's a short drive from the train station in Chiusi - an Avis car rental is just across the plaza - and it's an ideal location to explore Tuscany. Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona and other Tuscan hill towns are just minutes away.

We love biking out of Fontecastello, but remember this is a hill town. Fun heading out but climb back home.

Great location. Close to town and situated on an olive farm and winery. Was a nice touch to have a bottle of home made olive oil and wine provided on arrival. Friendly hosts, able to speak only a little English, but I feel this enhanced the local experience. The apartments are spacious and great value (I thought I was at the wrong place as it is so big). My only criticism is that there was only about 7 sheets of toilet paper provided for a 4 night stay for 2 people. It's something that we shouldn't have to ask for in my opinion, but once we did it was rectified immediately. Also emails not returned prior to the stay. Otherwise great accommodation, a good price and excellent location. Highly recommend

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent!!!

We travelled from Florence to Chiusi by train and then caught the bus....it was a cheap easy journey, please note, you do not need to have a car to experience this southern part of Tuscany!!! . we walked from the bus station to this jewel of Montepulciano. Everything we had dreamed of, sights, smells, warmth and fabulous rural accommodation. We walked 15 mins into the idyllic Tuscan walled town, and returned armed with groceries and the freshest fruit and vegetables and enjoyed the facilities of our apartment/villa cooking our own Italian supper. Antonella and her family were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was spotless and homely with french doors opening on to our own patio/terrace overlooking the pool and with amazing views. We left wanting to stay.....we will definately come back and would recommend this fabulous place to everyone.
