Description: The restaurant Le Logge del Vignola is located in the heart of Montepulciano's old town centre, across from the renowned loggia attributed to "Vignola". There are two elegant, comfortable rooms where, by candlelight, guests can savour dishes from the Tuscan repertoire as well as the restaurant's own distinctive cuisine, accompanied by excellent, local wines. The restaurant is air conditioned. There is a temporary exhibition of art works by Gino Filippeschi. Seasonally available ingredients form the basis of a cuisine that primarily features local products and, taking inspiration from tradition, reimagines them in a way that is adapted to today's tastes. Among the restaurant's offerings: a tasting menu of special cheeses, flambe cuisine and much more... The cellar is stocked with a careful selection of wines from Tuscany and beyond, with the possibility of pairing, even by the glass, suggested by Sommelier Massimo Stella. Owner: Massimo Stella, Executive Chef: Federico La Rocca.

“A great way to end our Tuscan Trip”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

The location, the service, the food and the wine were excellent! This was a perfect way to end our four night stay in Montepulciano. The restaurant was recommended by the fine folks at Relais Ortaglia. As a wine aficionado I can tell you unequivocally that the wine service (presentation) was impeccable. That along with the food (my wife and I are vegetarians) and service made this a special night.

“Oh my...”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

I am a "foodie," enjoying many meals out, but not blown away by many. My wife and I did lunch here while in Montepulcianco for the day based upon our hotels recommendation. We did the tasting menu (ask about it) for 23 Euros each. For the tasting, we selected two options for a narrowed lunch menu, plus a glass of wine. All we chose were awesome (quiche & crepes; onion soup & cappicolla of pork)! The "onion soup" did not bear resemblance to what I expected from the States, but it was the best thing I have had in a long time - it blew me away!!! Maybe I should have ordered two portions and called it a day... In addition, we were given a glass of Prosecco and a small taste of spiced pumpkin soup to begin, and then after our two lunch selections we were treated with an assortment of goodies to end our meal - all nice touches that went above and beyond!

Try the onion soup!!! Enjoy.

“best of Montepulciano”
Reviewed 22 May 2014

Let's face it, if you are in Italy, you are going to eat some fabulous food. That said, Montepulciano gets a bad rap sometimes for catering to tourists. Being a fellow foodie and wine-a-holic myself, I have discerning tastes. We booked a rezzy for 10 pm arriving late due to a flight from Pisa. One word, fabulous! We were lucky enough to be staying at the Vicolo dell'Oste just up the street. Luisa and Giusseppe walked us in personally and introduced us to Massimo. We had the dinner to remember. Unbelievable housemade everything! (i'll upload pics later). And the wine list was superb with some older bottlings that are not to be found everywhere. Really quaint and warm atmosphere.

“Sensational!”
Reviewed 19 May 2014 via mobile

We were a party of 4, With two vegetarians. The restaurant was very accommodating. The gorgeous linens on the tables, very intimate setting.
our waiter (Massimo?)was most attentive and welcoming , and entirely unpretentious, while his level of service was extraordinary . The food was delicious and the small "frivolities" we're memorable.
Each dish was excellent . I had pigeon, (there's much game on the menu) But the vegetarians were very pleased , too.

The meal,is formal and very slow .. We were there for several hours. But there's not much other night life in this small town, so it was a great experience.

“It can't get any better!”
Reviewed 8 May 2014 via mobile

Massimo and his staff do an amazing job of preparing some of the best food in Italy. This is a gem to be cherished and supported. The prices are very fair for the amazing quality of both food and service. The wine list is educated and reasonably priced. We have reserved for tomorrow night.
