“So, when do we return?”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

At the risk of sounding repetitive with other reviews, Villa Mazzi really is the perfect choice for experiencing the beauty of Tuscany, its landscape and hill towns. This was our first visit but we plan to return like others we met at the property. First, the views of Montelpuciano could not be finer; we have dozens of photos of the town at sunrise, sunset, in the mist, rainbows, sheep in the foreground---you get the gist. That 5 star view is worth a good deal. But our room, Il Cedro, also gave us a comfortable roost for all that viewing and idle thoughts about what it would be like to live here. We also appreciated the kitchen so we could mix up restaurants and touring with taking advantage of local products for our own meals at home. Conveniently, some of those local products are available right on the property with Loredana's wines, olive oil, honey, various jams and nearby Pecorino cheese. (Our only regret was not planning to bring more home with us.)

We just can't say enough good things about Loredana who makes it seem effortless to manage the family's agricultural production right along with the guests. She is a lovely and generous host with a ready laugh and helpful suggestions for the asking or complete privacy if you prefer. And, yes, Lao is the perfect Villa Mazzi canine. Until next time, Loredana!

If you want to get a true taste of Tuscany and take in the natural beauty of the Val d'Orcia, Villa Mazzi is the perfect choice. It's centrally located to all the nearby historic hill towns, with spectacular, drop-dead views of Montepulciano. I have stayed here twice: once with my daughter for site seeing, and just recently with my brother for a week of cycling. The agriturismo is surrounded by olive and fruit trees with nearby vineyards. Pecorino producing sheep graze nearby. Life is quiet and peaceful, and when staying here the land quickly becomes a part of you and you can't imagine leaving. The rooms are designed and constructed in traditional Tuscan style and are comfortable and suitable for friends, lovers, and families. We really appreciated the well-appointed kitchen...perfect for brewing up a quick espresso before the morning ride, or preparing a convenient evening meal to take a break from the excellent local restaurants! Loredana, the owner, is a fantastic host and maintains the property beautifully. She speaks English well and can offer some great inside tips on dining and sites to see. We find Villa Mazzi to be very affordable...a great value. Overall, I can't imagine staying anywhere else, and I plan to return again...and again.

Room Tip: "Il Tiglio" or "Il Pino" are great for friends, lovers, and small families. Ther...

This was our second trip to Italy and I can safely say Villa Mazzi was our favorite place to stay. Perfectly located to explore many nearby hill towns AND its in Montepulciano's backyard...literally! I never grew tired of staring at the scenery that surrounded us! This place makes you slow down and take in all that makes Italy the "dolce vita". We loved the apartment 'La Loggia'- clean, simple yet elegant. Loredana, the owner is gifted in hospitality and was very helpful in communicating with the car rental in Chiusi as our train arrival was outside of the office hours. Thanks to her and this beautiful place we had the trip of a lifetime!

If you're seeking space, tranquility and outstanding Tuscan scenery there cannot be a better located agriturismo in Montepulciano than Villa Mazzi; It is a truly wonderful place. Our apartment was spacious, comfortable and well furnished; The view through the living room window like a picture on the wall which became like an enormous carefully painted backdrop when you stepped outside...surreal and 'Bellissimo'! The fact that almost every car traveling from Pienza to Montepulciano stops by the road above Villa Mazzi so that its occupants can take shots of the town is indicative of the breathtaking beauty of this place! Loredana was the perfect hostess and Leo a cute canine companion for what was a fabulous week.

Room Tip: La Loggia provided more than enough space for our party of 4.

A family of four, we came to Villa Mazzi in July of 2013 for what was to be a truly extraordinary six days. We came as guests, and left as friends of Loredana, Mario, and Leo the most charming canine on the planet! Villa Mazzi was perfectly located just outside of Montepulciano, and within short drives of Pienza and We stayed in "la Loggia", which is enormous, very clean, and well-appointed. We were amazed to realize that the view of Montepulciano from the living area, which was so perfect in the photos we thought it may have been photoshopped, was actually real! The grounds and the views of Montepulciano are breathtaking! Loredana and Mario have put a great deal of love into Villa Mazzi, as well as the incredible jams, olive oil, and wines they produce. Don't miss them! Loredana took great care in ensuring our experience in Tuscany was extraordinary, recommending superb restaurants, taking us to a local winery, making sure we had everything we needed. More than anything, Loredana is a fun, caring, lovely person, who genuinely cares. Staying at Villa Mazzi was one of the highlights of our month-long tour through Italy, and we look forward to the day when we may return - hopefully for a month!

We chose this place because of its great TripAdvisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. What's so great about it? The property is very well situated. It is just a few km outside of Montepulciano, and also has a great view of Montepulciano, which is a scenic hill town. The spacious grounds have a good amount of shade from beautiful mature trees, and there are flowers dotted in here and there and just about everywhere. The apartments themselves are spacious, nicely decorated, and very well equipped. It's a nice place to be, and it is also very handy for touring. Plus the hostess is really lovely. Our flat was missing a pasta strainer and a garlic press, but when I asked about it, Loredana sorted it all out within minutes. Which is typical. It was mosquito-y one of the days we were there, and Loredana gave us a bag of citronella candles so we could have dinner outside in comfort, on the nice outdoor dinner table and chairs on our patio. Highly recommended, and great value, too.

Room Tip: There should be an option for N/A, for ratings. There are no fitness centres or children's act...

No, I did not intend to rhyme that, but it is true. After spending last year here we had to come back. Loredana is the best hostess and the place is spectacular. The view is unreal. You can sit and stare at the famous Montepulciano and St. Biagi church. Watch the sunset and the lights come up.
The room is very clean and wonderfully appointed. We stayed in the largest place which had 3 bedrooms and there was a lot of space to lounge and relax. The food and wine at Villa Mazzi is great and should be tried. Only 5 minute drive to the city, 20 minutes to Pienza and Montefollonico has 2 great restaurants which should not be missed....just like Villa Mazzi!

Room Tip: The cost is VERY reasonable and should be taken advantage of ...they could easily charge more!
