Description: Montepulciano is a magic city which offers its visitors unforgettable memories. A steep, winding road will lead you to a medieval hill town with a wonderful view over the surrounding valley. L’Osteria del Conte is situated in one of the town centre’s main streets, near the renowned Sanctuary of San Biagio and ontepulciano’s Fortress. After several years of experience in enogastronomy and catering, Lorena together with her son, Paolo, decided to open this cosy little restaurant in Montepulciano, where you will have the possibility of tasting the genuine, delicious dishes offered by the Sienese cuisine.

“Visiting Montepulciano”
Reviewed 27 August 2014

Lunch time arrived and my wife and me went to the restaurant in title sitting outside. Sunny day perfect to enjoy a meal under the white umbrella. We ordered the Pici pasta with duck ragù and pecorino cheese. Then veggies cake plus ad to conclude panna cotta cake.
All really delicious accompanied by sparkling water and a glass of red wine.
In conclusion we complimented the cook, a 70 years old lady of incredible vitality.
Furthermore, place is clean and orderly as well as the bathroom.
Price is affordable.
I recommend it with pleasure.

“Excellent Lunch”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

Excellent food and friendly service. Offered a high chair immediately for our toddler. I had the home made Pici pasta with duck and pecorino cheese which was amazing. My husband had the grilled mixed pork which again was very good. Overall a very good lunch and family friendly. Well worth a visit.

“Glad we made a reservation!”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

We were walking around Montepulciano looking for a cosy and good restaurant when we bumped into this one. It was 7pm and not yet open but the waiters were preparing the tables so we asked if we could have a table at 7.30 and that was OK. So a bit later we returned - the terrace was almost full! Very cosy and we had a table. We had a 3 course dinner here and went for the bistecca fiorentina! Minimum quantity is 1kg, this didn't scare us. They showed us the raw meat which looked good. They grilled it and brought it to us - medium rare. We sent parts of the steak back and they came back more well done - still slightly pink: perfect! They grilled the steak in olive oil and thym - very very good! Great accompanied by a glass of Nobile de Montepulciano red wine. Steak Fiorentina is a must eat for meat lovers. As starter we also had Caprese - they served a very sweet kind of mozzarella with it. As desert we had the semifreddo croccante - not as good as I had it before. There was also a cream pie on the dessert menu, wish we ordered that. The must unforgettable memory of this place is the more than 70 people that had to be sent away because all tables were taken. The high demand for this restaurant also becomes clear by the high amount of Italian people who eat here. We loved our dinner here- sitting on the terrace is a must. Inside was not so cosy. This place is located in a street which comes out onto the Piazza Grande. If you plan to visit: make a reservation!!

We met some friends in the restaurant and enjoyed the wonderful Tuscan cuisine. Try some of the cheese and the Vino Nobile!

“Authentic Cuisine in a Country Setting”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

This charming family-run restaurant is located off the town square, on the side of the duomo. The interior resembles a country-side home. The menu is traditional regional Tuscan cuisine. Everything is fresh and well-prepared -- excellent in all aspects. Service is personal. The restaurant comes highly recommended by all. You will not go wrong on this one! Reservations highly recommended.
