“Blazingly Fast WIFI / Excel Location / Heat In May?”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We stayed 4 nights in May 2014.
The WIFI was absolutely superb. It was reliable and blazingly fast 24/7. A rare treat!
In May, which is when we visited, there is no heat in the building which can be bothersome. It seemed to stay around 68-70F. When I inquired about it Giuseppe explained something about a government regulation about heat in May. I don't know.
The location is excellent. Not far from free parking which is very important if you have a car.
The owners, Luisa and Giuseppe, are absolutely wonderful. Very kind and helpful.
We were very fortunate to be offered one of their two bedroom apartment units, which seemed to me to be priced as if it were just a standard room. That was quite a treat!

First let me say that if you are lucky enough to stay in the town Montepulciano - and I highly recommend it -- you will probably be happy with most options available. That said, for the value, you can not make a better choice than Vicolo dell'Oste. We were 3 girls traveling from California. Luisa and Guiseppe are above and beyond. All previous accolades set the stage but can't do justice to trying to explain just how warm, wonderful, and accommodating they are. They GENUINELY make you feel like family. We first arrived late at night and Luisa and Guiseppe left their home 15 minutes away to greet us, get our luggage, park our car with us but and then personally walk us down to our dinner reservation at La Logge - nice touch! The B&B is in the heart of Montepulciano - smack dab in the center. it is lovely, warm, welcoming and the apartment that we stayed in on the top floor was more than enough room for 3 women. Our apartment had one large queen bdrm and another with 2 twins. Bathrooms were updated, modern, large and really nice. Kitchen was very well appointed. I would recommend this place for longer visits than the 2 nights that we were lucky enough to be there. To really enjoy La Dolce Vita in Montepulciano, you should stay a minimum of 3 nights and if time allows, stay with them for a full week. There was so much good wine and food to explore. I wish we had more time! When I return with my husband we will definitely come back to Vicolo dell'Oste to see Luisa and Giuseppe! I feel like we have family in Italy.... ahhhhhhh......
if you are considering booking here, just DO IT! You will be glad you did and fall in love with the town and L&G just as we did.

Room Tip: Can't pick a bad one. this quaint, boutique and wonderful place has a room for everyone. But t...

everything is wonderful about this location. Great value, very clean and on a very quiet street.
Luisa and Giuseppe were the best hosts. Giuseppe made recommendations for travel and restaurants, he was even kind enough to make reservations for us, helpful is your Italian is poor like ours.
The rate is super reasonable, and the town enchanting especially after dark.
we stayed in the family room which slept four with 2 great bathrooms and a small kitchen.
Unless this isn't good enough breakfast is included right across the street at Café Polizano, an amazing bonus. Breakfast included 2 drinks from the menu and a sweet and savoury item.
Please do yourself a favour and enjoy this great spot.

Montepulciano is a lovely town, but very, very steepy. Vicollo dell'Oste is perfectly located at the center, meaning you can probably give a rest to your legs.
The rooms (apartments) are huge and have all the amenities for a long stay. The hosts are nice and very helpful.

Giuseppe and Luisa were the absolute BEST. As a host and hostess, they really set the bar high. We had a general idea of what we wanted to do and see around Montepulciano, but Luisa advised us in a slightly different direction (since we have small children) and we are very happy we listened. She has a great understanding of the area and truly catered to our individual needs. We didn't feel like she was just telling us the same thing she tells everyone who passes through the town. Very attentive hosts...

As for the amenities, the beds were comfortable, the showers worked great (even when used at the same time), the kitchen was well-equipped, the wifi worked perfectly, and Luisa was even on Viber so that we didn't have any extra charges if we needed to contact her.

The location was perfectly situated in the middle of town. It could not have been better. Even though Montepulciano is a small village, it is worth it to stay in the town at least one night because you really can enjoy it after the tourists leave. If you choose to stay overnight in Montepulciano, this is the perfect place!

FYI, you should have a normal-sized vehicle to navigate in Montepulciano. An American van would be extremely difficult to drive here. Just something to be aware of.

We stayed at several B&B's throughout Tuscany in April 2014, and this one was by far the best for the money. Super helpful and friendly staff who gave several restaurant recommendations and discounts. Fully renovated in 2009 with modern finishes, but still maintains the Tuscan charm. Centrally located on one of the main retail streets. Easy access for loading and unloading baggage in relation to other walled cities. You can't go wrong with Vicolo dell'Oste!

Room Tip: Go for one of the rooms with a kitchenette.

We rented 3 rooms for 10 people for our wedding in October. Luisa and Guiseppe were lovely hosts and very gracious when dealing with our family. I wish I would have had a chance to say goodby to them when we left. We will definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a well appointed B and B.

Room Tip: The family rooms are great for bigger groups.
