We love Montepulciano and at least once or twice a year if we can, we go there and we book a table at Cantina Gattavecchi. We discovered it last 2012, we went there for my husband's birthday in October and this is now the fourth time we eat by them.
We really enjoy the full mixed little bruschetta called IL TAGLIERE FANTASIA DI LILIAN for 2 people and we usually taste the 3 selection of their Nobile di Montepulciano wines.
This time, precisely last saturday, we also took two first dishes one PICI AL CINGHIALE for me and one TAGLIATELLE AL VINO NOBILE CON CACIO E PEPE for my husband. they were extremely delicious and very full dishes, so that after the big tagliere and the hand made pasta we weren't able to taste anything else. So that we will pick up the chance to go one more time and taste the BUDINO AL PECORINO, a sweet made by pecorino cheese.
We think that the quality of raw materials is very high and the cost is very low with respect to this.
All people who work there and the owners are wonderful and kind, they always let us stay there with our dog Zorro, even now that is not so little.. We warmly suggest to anyone to prove this special experience during the visit of Montepulciano. Unfortunately I didn't download updated pictures yet because I am on holiday right now but I can publish photographs referred to our previous experiences.
