Agriturismo La Bruciata
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 19 August 2013

My wife and I stayed here for one week in June 2013. The setting was spectacular, in the midst of the Tuscany countryside, a short drive (or longish walk that we took one day) to Montepulciano, a beautiful walled hilltop town with great restaurants and wine. The grounds of La Bruciata are beautiful and the pool was perfect on hot afternoons. The apartment we stayed in was lovely and clean, with a bathroom that looked like it had been recently renovated. Our only complaint was that the air conditioner didn't work very well, and even though the outside air was cool at night, for some reason it didn't circulate well through our apartment. But Laura was able to provide us with a fan, and once we had that we were able to sleep very comfortably. The food at La Bruciata was also fantastic. The included breakfast was a highlight every day, with cappuccino, a variety of juices, fruit, yogurt, fresh pastries, homemade jams, and more. We also had dinner here one night, and it was a delicious multi-course meal that included a caprese salad, homemade pasta, pork, dessert, and homemade wine. In short, we were really glad we stayed here. The combination of setting, comfort, friendliness, and value were really unbeatable.

I can highly recommend La Bruciata were we stayed one week in July 2013. The apartments are very nice furnished and the ground is surrounded by trees with peaches, plums, olives and much more. The scenery is very beautiful. Even though all apartments were booked there were a quiet atmosphere and no rush by the pool. The host Laura and her family are so nice and they serve a lovely breakfast with lots of fruit and homemade marmalade. One evening we invited some friends to dine with us, and Laura and her mother cooked a lovely dinner for us all (we were 13) for a reasonable price.

Laura and her family (including her cutie patootie 3 year daughter) were so nice, welcoming and charming. We stayed there for 7 days, 6 nights and explored local cities, went to Castello Banfi Vineyard all by car. Thank you Hertz for the GPS. The food was so fresh and most ingredients were grown on-site (olive oil, wine, vin santo). We opted for the cooking class where we learned how to make HOMEMADE, hand-rolled pecce pasta.Tasted so good! We had rabbit (tastes like chicken) and the breakfasts were yummy too! Laura was helpful in directions. Everything is very feasible to drive to (with a GPS).

Her family is genuinely friendly and welcoming. Loved it. Consider this review a 4.5 star, but TripAdvisor won't let me do halves, the .5 deduction was because us city slickers could not handle the bugs. We luckily turned on the A/C on our last day/night and closed the windows and doors to reduce it, but for those used to the great outdoors and camping, it's probably just normal. I wouldn't say it's a downside at all. It's a great property, but for those who get squeamish about bugs, bring lots of bug repellent spray and opt for the AC and you'll be fine.

Thanks for the great memories Laura!! See you soon with our future bambinos/bambinas. =)

Room Tip: All rooms are great. All have great views. Can't lose.

Wow!  What a wonderful experience. We spent a week here in April and enjoyed every moment.  This is an ideal location for exploring the southern part of Tuscany.  In addition to nearby Montepulciano, there are many picturesque hill towns and villages within an easy, short drive.  Laura gave us great tips on "must see" places that we would not have stumbled upon on our own.

Laura and her family make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.  On our arrival night, we enjoyed their Tuscan dinner, a great meal with wine from their vineyards made by her father.  The breakfasts, prepared by Laura's mother, were the highlight of our morning, especially the cappucino with smiley face.

The accomodations were impeccable.  Our room had a great view and everything we needed for cooking in, which we did several nights.

We look forward to returning soon.

Our family of 4 (2 children aged 6 & 8) spent a wonderful week at La Bruciata with Laura and her family and it was the best decision we made! After reading many reviews of different accommodation options, we selected La Bruciata. Immediately after being in contact with Laura by email we knew we had selected the perfect place. Laura was so helpful and made us feel welcome before we had even arrived. Our 2 bedroom villa had 2 bathrooms and a comfortable living area with kitchen. The view from our balcony was just beautiful. The breakfasts every morning were not only delicious but a lovely way to start the day chatting to the other guests and having a laugh with Laura and her mum. The welcome dinner too was fantastic and some of the best food we tasted. We met some wonderful people who made our stay at La Bruciata even more special. Overall, Laura and her mum were so warm and friendly they made us feel right at home. So much so, we didn't want our stay to end. We will definitely be back!

My family of 7 (5 kids) recently spent 5 nights with Laura. Our large suite was very comfortable. The kitchen was great. The location was also nice. We made a day trip to Rome by car. Although it was a 1.5-2 hr drive, it was so nice to return to the peaceful countryside after spending time in the chaos of Rome. We also made day trips to Pisa and Siena. The pool was also wonderful. Laura really went out of her way to help us with our every need. This place is a real gem. We hope to return sometime in the not to distant future. It was tricky to find the first time, our garmin GPS was useless.
