We stayed at Villa Cicolina 3 nights and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. A truly beautiful place with wonderful grounds. The gardens are lovely and the view from the infinity pool is spectacular. We took the cooking class and had a great time with the Chef and actually prepared the meal for the Villa's dinners that evening. This is such a relaxing place that we decided to just relax one day instead of rushing to see other sights. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. We stayed in the balcony suite which was just incredible. We loved coming back after dinner and sitting there with a glass of wine. A very special place.

Room Tip: The balcony suite was very comfortable. It was very special to have the balcony and no other rooms has this.

We stayed at Villa Cicolina for 4 nights. It's a lovely property, with outside sitting areas, gardens, and an infinity pool that overlooks the Tuscany countryside. The rooms are lovely. Our room was quiet, spacious and comfortable, with plenty of windows that we opened at night for cool air, and very clean. The bathroom was modern and well-appointed, with nice towels, a tub and good shower. There were plenty of bedside outlets for charging phones, and the wifi worked well in our room. Breakfast was the best selection of our trip, with hot (pre-made) scrambled eggs (or you could boil your own in a pot of boiling water), bread/toast, pastries, fresh fruit, a selection of about 8 marmalades and jams, ham and cheeses. And espresso/cappucino or coffee to order. Dinners are available in the cozy dining room each night at 8 as long as reservations are made by the afternoon. We ate one meal there, and it was good. The staff was friendly and very helpful with restaurant and wine tasting recommendations.

Note that the overnight parking is tricky and I'd recommend arriving in the daylight to do this the first time, but I think staff might park your car if you don't feel comfortable doing it. Parking is free.

We definitely recommend Villa Cicolina and would retrun.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the courtyard and might have been quieter than those facing the road, but I don't think the road is heavily travelled at night, in any case.

Wow, wow, wow and wow. Villa Cicolina is an absolute must, if you visit Montepulciano. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the beautiful gardens, sensational infinity pool, Tuscan views and the unrivalled hospitality of all of the staff. We stayed in the junior suite which was incredible large with separate sitting room, bedroom and bathroom. Villa Cicolina also have a magnificent restaurant where they serve breakfast each morning (by far the best we have had in Italy!!) and also offer a 4 course dinner each night for a very reasonable price. You can also participate in cooking lessons which they offer on site. We were very sad to leave Villa Cicolina and will be sure to return one day.

When you first step out of the car, you think, "Wow." The grounds are beautiful and impeccably kept. The quaint charm of this place couldn't be overstated. Our room was very spacious and pleasant. Bathroom was quaint, which does mean the shower/tub is a little different and not the easiest to use, but goes with theme of the place. The pool area is unbelievable, with the infinity section of the pool overlooking the Tuscan landscape. Just wow. It's like an enchanted forest land here. Free breakfast is served every morning in their restaurant, which is high-quality. Dinner is served every night (€33 per person, doesn't include drinks) and a set menu is displayed each morning to let you know what will be served. The on-site restaurant is a fantastic option available if you want to just hang out and not drive into the old town. Even after dinner we had a fantastic time chatting with other guests all night around the grounds.

We also did a wine tasting one night and their cooking class another night. Wine tasting (€25 each) consisted of going down to their basement cellar and learning a little about Montepulciano wines over some Prosecco. Then you are paired wines during your dinner (White for appetizer, Rosso for pasta, Nobile for secondi (meat)), and it is a fair amount of wine. The cooking class (€85 for 3-hour class, €65 for 2-hour) was very enjoyable, and you are actually cooking for the entire restaurant for that evening. It was fun to get compliments from fellow diners that evening at dinner on some of our dishes.

Our only regret is that we didn't book this sooner and thus could only stay 2 nights instead of the 4 nights that we stayed in Montepulciano area. This place is absolutely perfect and was just what we needed after a very crowded weekend in Rome!

Room Tip: Our Junior Suite was called "Il Camino", I believe, and it was beautiful with fantastic views from 3 directions from the villa. It was located right above the lobby office.

We recently spent two and a half weeks in Italy, and the Villa Cicolina was absolutely my favorite place that we stayed. I found this hotel about seven months before the trip and knew we had to make a stop there. We spend six days in Tuscany and had hoped to spend two at the Villa Cicolina, but because they were booked we changed our travel dates just so we could spend one night there. I definitely had high expectations as it was our "splurge" of the trip (we stayed in a Junior Suite, did a cooking class, etc.) and I am happy to say that my expectations were absolutely exceeded.

- Room: We stayed in the Il Camino Junior Suite which was an absolute Tuscan dream. It was massive with windows on three out of the four walls (all with amazing views of the property, garden, and countryside), wood beamed ceilings, and beautiful paint detailing between the beams. The king-sized bed was absolutely the most comfortable one we have ever had in Europe. The room was filled with stunning antique furniture, art, rugs, and a fireplace (not sure if it is a working fireplace since it was 80 degrees when we stayed, but it was lovely none the less). It was clear the hotel paid attention to details such as putting a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers in the room. My favorite part of the suite was the bathroom. It was huge with his and her sinks, a beautiful view of the countryside, antique rugs, and a stunning black antique claw foot bathtub. It was absolutely heavenly coming up to the room after dinner and falling asleep in the bubble bath.

- Villa: The villa itself is absolutely stunning. The ceilings and walls on the first floor are covered in beautiful pastel frescos. It is filled with beautiful antique furniture, chandeliers, tons of books, art, and a massive fireplace which I can only imagine how wonderful it would be in the fall/winter to cozy up around. The color palette is light, airy, and regal (to me it has a bit of a French flair to it). So beautiful and luxurious.

- Cooking Class: We signed up for the 2-hour cooking class (an absolute steal). It ended up just being my boyfriend, the chef, the sweetest girl from the hotel who helped cook and translate, and myself. This was a nice treat as we didn't pay for a private class but since no one else signed up for the day it was just us. Essentially we assisted the chef in cooking the dinner they were to be serving at the restaurant that night. We learned how to make focaccia, pappa (a Florentinian bread soup), crepes with spinach and ricotta, and apple pastries. It was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend it!

- Restaurant: The restaurant is in a converted stone barn and is absolutely gorgeous. Surrounded by trees and flowers with a huge fireplace and a gorgeous wooden bar that takes up a whole wall, it is a truly lovely ambiance. The food was delicious (and extra fun for us since we helped cook it in our cooking class) and the service professional. Highly recommended!

- Property: Where can I even begin? The drive up to the villa is surrounded by a huge variety of lush flowers and fruit trees. The infinity pool, surrounded by olive trees and flowers and overlooking the rolling Tuscan Countryside below, is the perfect place to lounge away the afternoon with a glass of wine and a good book. There is a small but amazing Italian garden (which we could see from our bedroom window) with a tiny little chapel (?) next to it. It is easy to find a romantic, secluded little nook anywhere on the property to spend a few quiet moments with your loved one. It really is the essence of Tuscan luxury.

- Service: By far the best service we received during our whole trip. Everyone we met was professional, kind, and helpful. From the sweet gardener to the chef who taught us the cooking class to the woman who when we asked for a light lunch put us together the most beautiful spread of Pecorino cheese, honey, bruschetta, and fresh fruits from the property (the figs were absolutely amazing) in a secluded garden, it was perfect.

Ultimately our stay at the Villa Cicolina exceeded our very highest of expectations. It is truly a magical place that makes you feel as though you have stepped into another time. I cannot recommend it enough and look forward to when we have the opportunity to return!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Il Camino Suite which was absolutely gorgeous and had a stunning clawfoot bathtub.

Buogiorno Molly,

We would like to thank you a lot for your kind comment , we are happy to know that our villa was your favourite among the places where you stayed in Italy. It was very nice meeting you and your husband, we feel sad that we couldn't satisfy your request for a longer stay as the hotel was fully booked, we hope that next time you can have a longer stay to enjoy better Villa Cicolina.

Looking froward to welcoming you, we send you the best wishes of Cicolina's staff.
