The Hotel is cheap for the area, 100 euros a night. The rooms have working AC and there is wifi in the bar but not in the rooms. It is not fancy by any stretch of the imagination but is more workman like, as either a one or two night stop over or as a starting point for the area. We did the later and went off into the hills of Maremma to visit the archaeological park to see the Etruscan and other ruins.
The hotel has its quirks. On our first day we had normal fluffy towels but the next day we had the old fashion sheet like towels that we thought had been discontinued throughout Italy.
We stayed in the attic like room with a sea view, albeit slender but it was a sea view.
This is not a complaint review but one to alert fellow TA users what to expect.
Ansedonia where it is located is a suburb of Orbitello with very expensive houses overlooking the sea. The Vinicio is in that neighbourhood.
This is a pricey area for hotels, although there are hundreds of Agrotourism B&Bs all over the area. Unfortunately many do not have or respond to emails and have no English language skills. It being slightly out of season, their are many availabilities. Have some Italian in your arsenal for communicating. Even a little goes a long way.
If you love the sea and seafood as we do then the area is a paradise of parks and preserves. We enjoyed that aspect and the hills where the archaeological park is located.
