Beautiful and enchanting hotel. The rooms are very large and overlooks a courtyard. Its very rustic and old fashioned but its a beautiful property. Right in the heart of the small city as well. I loved this hotel and breakfast was very good as well. The gentleman at the reception spoke very good english and was very helpful as well.

San Biagio Relais is a very elegant hotel in the centre of Orbetello, housed in 17th century palatial splendour. The rooms are very comfortable and the public spaces and courtyard very attractive, though I dislike piped music with breakfast!

Found this hotel after a last-minute decision to stay in Orbetello. We were not disappointed -- beautiful old-world elegant, fully up-to-date with all amenities. One of the most beautiful bathrooms we've seen. Breakfast served in outdoor inner courtyard (beautiful), and free parking a few doors down in a private lot. Helpful, accommodating staff. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Though not on the sea, we could see it out our window -- ask for a room with an ocean view.

I had never heard of Orbetello, let alone this B&B, but came away wishing I had more time in both. Accented with antique furniture, a sumptuous breakfast and a helpful and friendly staff, San Biagio was a one night stop to recuperate from two days of short sleep on our flight from Boston and overnight in London. I am so glad I stopped there as Orbetello is a wonderful place frequented by Italians with nary a word of English being spoken, except by the staff. Right down the street toward the park (easy free parking there) was a wonderful outdoor dining experience (risotto was perfect) and a good night sleep on firm beds. Only good things to say about the place and this fine Etruscan village by the sea.

This is a great hotel in every aspect. The hotel comes with fresh and newly upgraded rooms in a fantastic setting, the hotel is a 17th century building complete with a court yard, old paintings, classic furniture. The hotel is very well maanged, clean, quiet and the service level is great. The breakfast buffet is superb and the location is very good right next to the public parking and sea promenade. Highly recommended.

This is a nice hotel that is well put-together. Old world charm yet properly kept up and just the right amount if modern amenities. Orbetello itself isn't terribly interesting but it's a very short ride from the stunning peninsula of Monte Argentario. Good breakfast and wifi, would definitely stay here again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
San Biagio Relais is in Orbetello’s historic centre, set in an aristocratic building perfectly renovated. It offers 41 elegant rooms and suites, some with fresco-ed ceilings, decorated with antique furniture or in a modern style. All bathrooms are in fine marble, fully equipped with bathtub and/or shower. The charming courtyard is perfect for an outdoor breakfast or a drink. Orbetello is situated in the centre of a splendid lagoon linked to the Tyrrhenian Sea in the Maremma region of Tuscany. Close by are the ecological havens like the Maremma Natural Park, the wetlands of the WWF Bird sanctuaries, the Argentario promontory and the two strips of accumulated sand called the tombola that enclose the lagoon of Orbetello and open out onto the sea with their beautiful long sandy beaches (Feniglia and Giannella) In Orbetello, the little piazzas and the quiet lanes with their bars and restaurants come to life in the evening, mainly during the summer. The unique wealth of landscapes is all within cycling distance from Orbetello: an ideal place for those who enjoy open-air sports like swimming, windsurfing, diving, canoeing, sailing, horse riding, running, golfing and of course cycling. There are many boats and ferries to the islands of Giglio and Giannutri. Nearby are the other islands of the archipelago and the coastline of the Maremma National Park, an area with a sea mammal sanctuary that has been established as a Marine Nature Reserve and is a true paradise for lovers of the sea.The surrounding area also offers an extraordinary combination of Italian archeology, art and history with various Etruscan necropolises (distance from Orbetello: Saturnia 55 km, a very well known thermal location; Pitigliano 59 km, picturesque little village of Maremma located on a spur of tufa, falling sheer to green valleys on three sides and it is worth reminding that Pitigliano has become popular as "Little Jerusalem" in Maremma, for the Jewish community living there since the 16th century, whose traces are still visible in the Sinagogue and many other historical buildings; Tarquinia 55 km, a famous Etruscan site; Vulci 55 km; Sorano 24 km, a picturesque medieval village; Sovana 58 km) and museums, Roman archeological sites and medieval and renaissance towns (distance from Orbetello: Viterbo 90 km, Orvieto 100 km, Siena 115 km) and to taste the tuscan wine Morellino of Scansano, we suggest you a visit to the hilltop village of Scansano (about 40 km from Orbetello)Don’t miss to visit the Tarot Garden in Capalbio (about 20 km far away. It is the esoteric sculpture garden created by the artist Niki de Saint Phalle), and to go for a stroll to Porto Ercole (5 km far away) and Porto Santo Stefano (11 km far away) ... more   less
