You feel like you have woken up from a dream and ended up in heaven. This resort ticks all the boxes, and more.
Fairytale location in a pretty valley surrounded by magnificent peaks. A beautiful modern hotel with quality furniture and fittings and where everything works. Mostly very friendly and multilingual staff. (Excepted for one dopey receptionist who told us that our dinners were not included, which they were, making us walk all over the place to find a restaurant). amazing pool area and spa. Outstanding food and an excellent wine list. Definitely the best hotel in the whole region. Pricey, but definitely worth it.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony in the higher Balance part of the hotel. Much quieter with stunning views. The...

We took the one week package deal in the Balance Spa (no kids allowed, medical spa treatments available). The building connects to the regular Adler via an underground walkway. Cannot say enough complimentary things about this hotel! The room was very luxurious, and quickly they supplied bedding to help with my allergy to goose down. View of the mountains spectacular. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were part of the package, and all items were delicious. The spa features only organic, no-preservative foods, most of them locally sourced and all of them wonderful. Only time I have eaten dinner for one week straight in a hotel and looked forward to it every time! Serving staff were so personable and wanting to get your needs just right. Several water therapies available, facials, special diet formulations - they have it all nailed down. The daily hikes with friendly guides got us out on those marvelous mountains with well-marked trails, showed us how to do it and soon we were on our own, loving it. We hated to leave and would go back in a heartbeat!! Highly recommend to all outdoor and health enthusiasts.

Room Tip: Balance building has no kids policy, if you want a quieter stay.

Would echo all the previous glowing reports for this first class resort hotel. We booked a weeks package here with one of the well known Uk ski companies. We even plumped for the pricier superior rooms but had to subsequently negotiate with the hotel direct and pay a further supplement to have a room in the Balance hotel. Did look later that doing a DIY flight/hotel was probably more competitive but not sure what the cost of the transfer would have been as ours was 1.5hrs on the coach from Innsbruck. We were very pleased with the Balance hotel rather than the main building, the modern contemporary room designs, the stylish separate restaurant (adults only too) was all more to our taste. Prosecco available as part of the buffet breakfeast. In the room the bathroom is fitted with both a bath/shower and a separate walk in shower/rain shower too. There is then a separate toilet room with bidet/basin and in the hall a large walk in wardrobe area. Some minor niggles-Kettle in room but when enquired if they had any coffee sachets told there was just tea. Admittedly in line with the health ethos innumerable herbal brands and varieties were on offer but still fresh coffee is served for breakfeast and in the bars and packets of sugar there! There is a live LAN socket in the room so our netbook was available (although you are timed out if there is no activity for a very short time) but for the phone/tablet it was down to the reception area only- a bit disappointing. Super quality flat screen TV but apart from a US business station there is only BBC World for english channels. No air conditioning though and with the superior insulation our room was so hot in the night- had to have the full ceiling to floor patio door fully open and it was fine. Reception staff tried to remotely reconfigure down the temperature from their computer too.

Each week there are staff from the ski pass office and the ski school attending in the bar area so that makes it easy to organise. There is even a branch of the ski schools ski hire section just across the road (if you take the receipt for any prebooked lessons to the skihire counter you get a discount too)

For 7euros pp each day the Adler has 2 staff providing entry/advanced ski piste guiding- I wish we had known about this earlier. If you put a sticker on your skis in one ski room the staff transfer them over to the ski room of the other building which can help depending on which gondola you want that day. The Adler also has a minibus transfer service each day (not sunday) so you can be ferried to the gondola base station and after finishing in the afternoon phone the hotel for a return lift.

Restaurant service was slow, but admittedly they were fully booked and for many people having the whole evening dedicated to eating and drinking bottles of wine is their want. On the other hand the food is excellent and the serving staff are extremely helpful, friendly and professional. Tables are nicely separated and there was a great buzz every evening from all the diners.

Possibly as part of our Balance reservation we also had a 30euro pp credit on any spa treatments taken before 4pm. Although we have enjoyed other ski hotel spas this was the first where there was a swimming pool. Cannot recommend more highly the benefit of swimming in the heated pools to recover ski legs. At the Adler spa there is an additional indoor salt flotation pool and salt sauna which at 12euros pp for 90minutes meant we could use it twice under our credit. Other days we enjoyed the outside hot tubs, heated indoor/outdoor pools, saunas (plural)- its all so numerous you get given a bag for your towel and bits and pieces while you move from one pampering area to another.

The hotel also has a programme of fitness classes (even some later in the day that could suit the skiers) these along with the all the pools, gym and spa facilities may appeal to the non skier partner out there. We did a yoga class one early morning and a stretching one at the end of the day which did help heal the weeks strained legs etc from skiing.

Just around the corner from the hotel is a local museum. We just popped our heads in but for a few euros it could fill in a couple of hours especially if you have a white out day spoiling the skiing. Also just at the back of the hotel is a funicular that from the top starts a toboggan run and we did note spare equipment in the ski room so that might be worth trying.

Overall would have no hesitation in returning or recommending the complex but particularly would choose the Balance section.

Room Tip: All rooms are on one side with a view of the resort below and the Dolomites in front. Very quiet loc...

Although it is quite a long car ride from the nearest international airport (about 3.5hrs from Venice airport) it is worth the commute. Nestled in the heart of a lush forest in the belly of great mountains is a village called Val Gardena. The Adler spa overlooks this natural beauty from every angle. It is quite a pricey stay but if you are there to relax and maybe get some medical treatments then it is the place to be. The Drs. are professional and the staff is courteous. The services range from spa treatments to medical and cosmetic. The food is fresh and you can request specific diet plans which suite your needs. In the winter it is a ski resort but in the summer it comes alive with beautiful forests for hiking and great challenging mountains for advanced hikers. The village is beautiful full of family owned shops and restaurants and even its own little museum and art gallery. I had a magical time at Adler and would definitely go back again.

Was my first time in Ortisei and I'm not a big fan of montains but this resort made me want to came back as soon as possible. It's not only for the aesthetic of the place, and not only for the fantastic food at the restaurant , and not only because in this venue were not kids around that allows you to relax in the deepest way, but the service and the people who looks after you are just above any expectation.
thanks to everyone who took care of us in the most professional, natural, familiar way.

I had never been to Ortisei before; I was actually going to Venice for a week and decided to look for a place in Italy to relax afterwards. I came across Adler Balance on the Internet; and I must say, the hotel and the whole place came to be even above my expectations.
The resort is in Ortisei in Val Gardena. Adler actually has two hotels there (connected through underground walkway), Dolomite and Balance. Staying in Balance also gave me access to the spa and fitness center in Dolomite.
Balance hotel was just beautiful in every way; the wooden interiors were elegant, minimalist and delicately detailed, it was all just a pleasure to the eye. The service and people were just great everywhere in the hotel. It all started with the management and admin who handled my reservation request professionally and then took care of all the requests I made for my program. My program changes were handled patiently with much diligence. I signed up for a health program and the doctor was very helpful, giving holistic advice and making great suggestions. The food was fresh; restaurant staff were very attentive and nice. The spa treatments were good too and the therapists were all great. The fitness center was well equipped with ample daylight and great views; I had private coaching and both coaches were super. The hotel also offers hiking tours from morning till afternoon everyday to a different place. That really made my program just wonderful; the guides they had were also experts in the area, so insightful and took us on some marvelous yet easy hiking paths with spectacular views. Overall it was a wonderful holiday and I can’t wait to go back again!

Room Tip: I would assume that all rooms are great, as they all have balconies facing the mountains.
