“Amazing food!”
Reviewed 18 March 2014 via mobile

When we decided to stop here on our way down the 10,5 km slope to ortisei we where first thinking of just having something to drink. When we then saw the food coming out to our neighbour tables we reconsidered and also decides to have our lunch here and it was truly amazing!! This type of authentic and gourmet food is hard to come across in the slopes. Fabulous!

“A deceptive gem”
Reviewed 16 December 2013

One could easily give this restaurant a quick glancing blow and ski on down the hill. However, it is worth taking the time to check out Costamula as, besides the food, the renovation work is quite unique. There are all sorts of little crannies and nooks where one could dine indoors under the original rustic timbers. For a mountain restaurant the menu is quite different but very reasonably priced. The food is presented very professionally and of a very high quality. Check out the history of Costamula and read about the little old lady who lived there until she died aged 91. A great find and we will return.

“A new gem”
Reviewed 9 March 2013

We came across this restaurant on the lefthand side of the piste just round a bend nearing the foot of the 10.5km run down from Col Raiser to Ortisei.
If I correctly understood the history of the building on the wall just inside the entrance, the original timber building was constructed in 1603 but modernised and extended in 2011/12.The interior is a very unusual and effective mix of old and ultra-modern.
We had lunch outside in the sun.Four of us shared a starter for two-a board of local dried meats and cheeses and for a main course I had braised veal cheeks with spinach/potato mash and a black truffle sauce all washed down with my share of a litre of very acceptable house red.
I can't remember what the bill was but do remember thinking it great value for a most enjoyable meal.
