Together with my husband and our two teenagers, we stayed for two nights in the ground floor apartment in June. Francesca is a wonderful, kind and helpful hostess and she made us feel enormously welcome to this homey place in a beautifully picturesque neighborhood. The apartment was clean and well kept with a cute sitting room with a trundle bed for the kids as well as a separate bedroom for us. All was great, but if I could suggest 2 small improvements they would be 1) for working people traveling on vacation who need to stay in touch with work, the wifi was not good enough. We had to get our internet connection sitting outside, albeit on a cute bench near a window box filled w flowers, and 2) breakfast rolls & croissants were plentiful but could be higher quality. All in all, though we very much enjoyed our stay in B&B Michelangeli!

We were offered a stay at B&B Michelangeli after our original B&B had suffered a problem with a water leak. Any initial disappointment we had regarding the move immediately disappeared when we stepped into our lovely private apartment at B&B Michelangeli. The apartment was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. As a couple we had more than enough space, much more than is ever expected from a B&B. The ground floor consisted of a large open plan dining room, kitchen and sitting area. Spiral staircases were found at each end of the ground floor, which we loved as they added to the ambience of the apartment (but maybe not suitable if you struggle with stairs). One led to a lovely mezzanine bedroom, with a very comfy double bed, ample sitting space and a tv. The other staircase led to a second floor, consisting of a single bedroom and a very spacious modern bathroom. The single room was a great size and consisted of a bed, large wardrobe, tv and desk with chair. This room would be especially suited for a child due to the decoration and numerous childrens books, games etc stored in the room. The bathroom was a great size, and included a shower over the bath. The only downside was that to get to the toilet in the night you had to navigate both sets of spiral staircases. However, this did not bother us and would definitely not stop us staying here again.

Francesca was a brilliant host, who communicated everything to us brilliantly, as her English was much better than our Italian! She took time to show us all the important sites and places on the map and recommended several different places for us to eat. We ate both nights at one of these (Trattoria del Moro Aronne) and thoroughly enjoyed everything we had. Breakfast was left for us in the Kitchen and consisted of packaged pastries, jams, fruit juices, milk, eggs, and freshly bought ham and bread. There was more than enough food.

The apartment was in a quiet area of the town but was only a few minutes walk to the centre. The wifi signal in the apartment was quite weak and could only be accessed from the top floor. However, this is not really missed when you have the beautiful town of Orvieto to explore, and many restaurants offer free wifi if you are desperate.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would not hesitate to return to this lovely B&B.

My wife and I and another couple each had an apartment, renting both available. We had a wonderful stay. Both apartments are very clean and updated. There is no air conditioning but it wasn't really a problem when using a fan and opening the window at night and in the morning.

Francesca was a gracious and capable hostess. She offered many recommendations for eating and shopping. We had a wonderful time.

I highly recommend!!!

We had friends with us and rented both apartments. My husband and I stayed in the larger apartment. It has a spiral staircase which might prove difficult for someone with physical limitations, but what a stunning conversion of a historic building, beautifully furnished, and the cleanest and best equipped of any place we stayed. The large bathtub is a plus for a long soak after a day of walking. Charming Francesca, who speaks better English than she credits herself for, is endlessly helpful and made restaurant recommendations and reservations, parked our car (easier said than done in an ancient city), directed us to the sights - in short she did everything in her power to ensure that we had a wonderful end to our vacation. The apartments are located one each side of Francesca's home on a narrow, traffic-free street in a quiet neighborhood a short distance from the main street, Via Cavour. I would have no hesitation in living here alone. Once again we stayed in friendly Orvieto at the end of an Italian trip. There is time to wander into town for one last coffee and pastry before the relatively straightforward drive to Rome airports for an afternoon flight home -:) This B&B deserves a rating higher than 5. It is an excellent value.

Room Tip: The larger apartment also has a single bedroom and there is the possibility of adding another single...

We recently stayed with the charming Francesca at her delightful apartment in Orvieto. It is centrally located in the historical part of Orvieto, near the Duomo shops and restaurants. We stayed three nights and were very impressed with the accommodation. It has a lovely old glass cabinet with crockery glasses etc. Cupboards full of saucpans and utensils and everything you need to make a meal if you so wish. A small fridge, kettle and toaster which we found particularly useful. Francesca leaves two kinds of cereal, packaged croissants, toasts etc and heaps of really good Italian coffee.Francesca is very helpful with restaurants and places of interest and how to get there. We were able to visit the lovely hilltop village of civita di Bagnoregio a short bus ride away.

Room Tip: We had a double bed room with small kitchen and it also has a sofa bed there which could be used for...

We stayed two nights in May 2014, and it was perfect. Francesca, who greeted us in her fashionable "GAP" outfit, was very accommodating with restaurant recommendations and sightseeing opportunities. The room is very private, and romantically furnished, with a separate bedroom and a large living/kitchen area. We strongly recommend this apartment which is centrally located in a very safe and quite neighborhood. Very good value for such large perfect space.

Francesca is a very thoughtful hostess. She'll apologize many times for her English but she does pretty well. She'll also give you good suggestions for places to eat, where to go. The location is really good, very close to the main area but very quiet. The apartment is very cute - a bedroom, a living, kitchen, dining area and a bathroom that is down 4 pretty steep stone steps. The breakfast is just adequate but the price seemed so reasonable that it made up for the breakfast. The WiFi is a little weak but you can pick it up down the hall if you really need to, which didn't happen often. Orvieto is a nice town to visit.
