We stayed here for 4 nights after 3 hectic days in Rome. We knew it was going to be peaceful and we were definitely not disappointed! The surrounding countryside is beautiful with pretty scenery to enjoy whilst relaxing around the pool, which has waiter service that I thought was a nice touch.

We usually enjoy visiting different restaurants but we knew being quite remote that we would probably end up eating all of our meals at the resort. The prospect of such fresh food excited us and we were not disappointed in any way, shape or form. The food was quite simply delicious made with the freshest of ingredients - we saw the tomatoes and herbs picked straight from the resort. There is talk of them exporting their wine and I really hope they do because it was fantastic and very reasonably priced.

We didn't have a car because we knew we just wanted to relax after a busy few days in Rome. You can go out for walks from the hotel but if you want to see more of Umbria you will need to hire a car.

This place is definitely a gem and if we ever go back to Umbria we would stay again without any hesitation.

Flexibility and personal service, particularly from Stefania, the manager on site. This is a place where you have the impression, the staff tries to read your wishes from your eyes and will respond adequately on anything you desire so you really get spoiled. Marvelous quiet location in the middle of Umbrias countryside. High standard of accomodation.

We loved Griffins - fabulous location and stunning scenery, wonderful decor and a great restaurant. However, we did have some minor frustrations.......

If you want to borrow the hotel's bicycles make sure you get up early and pick one before they all go. One of the reasons we chose the hotel was that we wanted a day of cycling in the Umbrian countryside but despite 2 enquiries (one by email in advance and another verbally on the day at breakfast) about the need to reserve them we found having been advised it was unnecessary that only one was available - not terribly useful when there are two of you and you are only there for 2 nights/1 whole day!

The service in the restaurant was incredibly slow, and our room whilst beautiful was very small.

Whatever.........go for the view!

Room tip: The rooms at the back have the fabulous views

We had an excellent stay at Griffin's Resort. Hotel staff, in particular Piero, were very helpful and eager to accommodate our every request. The location alone is worth booking! Thank-you for making our stay so very special.

We loved our stay at Griffin's. Great value for what you get. Staff are very helpful and friendly, beautiful hotel in a stunning setting. My fiance took the cooking class one day and really enjoyed it, the restaurant at the hotel is also very good.
