I've been travelling in Italy consistently for the last 5 years and the Hotel dei Templi in Paestum is the best hotel I've been in. The rooms are super clean and comfortable. The breakfast, which is served downstairs is your basic cornetto and coffee, but both were good. The hotel is a short ten minute walk from the temples and from our room on the second floor you could see the corner of the nearest temple. The setting is gorgeously pastoral, the air smelled like honeysuckle and it's the perfect place to relax. If you don't have a car (and in that area a car is almost a necessity) the hotel was happy to pick us up from the train station and drop us off when we left. This place is perfect.

We got the room on the first floor which was 2 rooms actually . A bedroom and a sitting room .
Tastefully newly renovated and decorated . The bed was really comfortable .
We found the place after deciding we should look for the street number on the building . (It was a long day of travel :) . The staff was friendly ,attentive and tried very hard to please even with our limited Italian vocabulary . Our suitcases were carried up to our room before I had a chance to grab them . The young woman must have seen me as old .. ;)
The view from the bedroom was of the house across . Bullet holes still visible in the outer walls.
The Greek ruins are a 2 minute walk from the hotel . Can't get any closer without staying in the ruins.
Breakfast was good . Espresso was great ... and as always friendly and courteous .
Now for the best ... in our rush to get back to Roma , I left a piece of photography equipment behind in the lobby . We called from the Airport Hilton in Rome and they confirmed that I had forgotten it. I asked them to mail it back to me to my home .... and they made it happen .
Naturally , I paid for the shipping because it was my fault that I forgot the equipment .
I am eternally grateful that Piermatteo made it happen .

Room Tip: Room #1 on first floor has sitting room and bedroom

Very comfortable and practical hotel within walking distance of the Paestum site. We have had 2 nights, with visits to the old ruins, but also to the beach, and to the Vannulo buffalo farm. All are highly recommended, and the hotel itself is very welcoming. We had a great supper in the small and unprepossessing bar/restaurant called Casa Rubini, a must if you have the chance, but closed on Tuesdays. They serve local food, with great taste, and the atmosphere is very authentic.

We stayed at the Hotel dei Templi only for one night, but it was really a nice experience.
This is a great place to stay, especially if you want to vistit the temples. It´s in walking distance to the temples, which are amazing by the way.
We were welcomed very warmly, the owner(or staff?) was extremly friendly, helpful and nice.
The house is old and was renewed two years ago which was done with much italian taste and style. There is no fridge in the rooms.
The rooms and the bathrooms were very clean. The breakfast is typical italian: great coffee and cornetti(croissants), the best croissants we`ve ever had.
We very much felt at home there, thank you so much!

Hotel dei Templi is a recently converted house in the village very close to the Greek temples at Paestum. The conversion is very tastefully done - our room and the adjoining bathroom were small but attractive and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were on the third floor and there is no lift - suitcases are carried up and down for you. There is free WiFi internet but only in the reception/breakfast area, not in the bedrooms. We parked opposite the B&B on the street, as there is no private parking. The one negative was being kept awake in the early hours by a dog barking opposite - not the fault of the B&B obviously, and hopefully not a regular occurrence!
