My daughter and I recently travelled here. We were looking for a true Italian experience away from the hussle and bussle, more of a quiet, rural, safe, modern facility. Checked with Trip Adviser many times before deciding on this place instead of staying in Sorrento. There were a few things on our list that had to be convenient to do from this area. 1) Visit Pompeii/Mt Vesuvius and 2) See lots of farms and ride bikes. All of this and more occurred. We did an arranged day trip via the Amalfi Coast (cruise) to Isle of Capri one day and another day a shopping trip to Sorrento (ample time). By ourselves we jumped on the train at Capaccio for Pompeii - easy and transportation is fast and cheap. We rode bikes all over the countryside, swam in the Sea (lovely private beach) and lounged around late afternoons at a marvellous pool on site at this hotel.

I loved the fact that this is a place where a lot of Italians go for holidays or weddings. It was clean, beautiful and best of all we were two of four Canadians at the time. There were some Europeans but mostly Italians speaking Italian. We had our handy Rick Steve's phrase book and Enzo and Cozimo (Superman) were great for translating.

The best part of this holiday was how welcoming and how helpful all of the staff were. From the front desk to the kitchen to the entertainment guys hired for the summer. We have all good things to say about this place. It was exactly what we were looking for. Gracie Mille!

Recently renovated hotel with private beach (reachable within 5 to 10 minutes walking) and swimming pool. All the common areas are decorated with design furnitures. The hotel is elegant, clean and well decorated. There is internet-WiFi connection gratis everywhere and even a PC with MS Office available for free for the guest, in a nice lobby. The hotel personnel is one of the kindest ever met, always professional and with a southern Italian touch. There is a private paring place.
The archeological site of ancient Paestum is only 3.5 km away. Salerno is easy reachable within half an hour. However, having a car is mandatory, public transport are not really frequent, especially during evening hours.
Breakfast was good. Only the espresso was below the average of the ones you can get in almost every bar in Italy. Everything else was very good.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for an holiday to enjoy the sun, the sea, the culture and the excellent food of the south-west part of the Italian peninsula.

Room Tip: Our room, 216, had a nice balcony with small table and comfortable chairs. The room got the morning...

My husband and I stayed here in May last year and we have nothing but great things to say about this hotel!
It is beautiful, the people who work there are kind and helpful, the pool is nice.......and the food is AMAZING!!!!
We did a trip to Naples one day but mostly we just borrowed the hotel bikes and roamed around the area. We found a little town about 15km away called Agropoli. One of the most amazing places I have ever been and I have travelled world wide!
If you are looking for a nice little hotel to relax and eat amazing meals in......this is the place! Did I mention the food is outstanding????

I stayed here in July 2012 in the suite. It is a beautifully decorated room if somewhat overpriced. The other rooms in the hotel could do with updating to be in keeping with the high standard and tasteful decor of the communal areas. The pool area is very nice however as mentioned in other reviews it is closed half days during peak season if they have a wedding reception.
The staff are very friendly and are able to communicate well in English and accommodate any needs. Hotel Cerere is definitely worth a visit.

Stayed here in July 2012 and had a wonderful time. It's a great hotel - the rooms are large and public areas spacious, clean and attractive.
The staff are attentive and keen to help but leave you to enjoy your holiday. It is excellent value and well worth staying here.

The pool is a particular highlight - it is large with plenty of space for sunbathing. The only slight niggle is it was regularly-used for weddings which means that the pool was closed for the afternoons on at least two of our days. The beach is only a short walk away though so not too much of an issue.

One tip: there is a great pizzeria on the way to the beach that is incredibly cheap and serves gorgeous food. Perfect spot for lunch.

We recently stayed here to celebrate a family wedding. The warm welcome we received on arrival from Lucia and her team was much appreciated and continued throughout our stay. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean, very modern and offers a wide choice of food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool is superb, a semi Olympic sized pool with plenty of space around the pool to sunbathe and relax. Although the majority of staff do not speak English, this did not inhibit our stay as we were able to converse with the staff who were very helpful and attentive. The hotel beach is situated at the end of the road and is within walking distance and again is very clean with parasols and sun loungers available for guests. Whilst staying in the area we would recommend a visit to the Greek temples in Paestum and a trip to the Cilento coast towards Acciaroli as the sea is crystal clear, like the Maldives, and there are lovely towns dotted along the coast which are very popular with locals and give a real feel for this beautiful part of Italy. Thank you to all the staff at Cerere for making us feel so welcome.

I was here in August (very high season for the place), probably the stay would have been better in other periods.
The hotel beach is very very nice, the available space for person is huge, compared to other beaches in the area.
The staff is very kind and friendly, but they are probably trying to manage too many rooms and events in the same time.
I didn't want to use the swimming pool but if I wanted I had no chance, since Cerere hosted a marriage everyday, during my stay.
Furniture in the room was very nice, just the moquette needed to be replaced. The balcony was just above of the kitchen and my view was a wall ten meters from the window, other rooms will of course have a better location.
Few minutes after entering the room I asked for the replacement of a broken lamp and for the phone, since there was no phone in the room. After some hours I've got the lamp replaced, but I am still waiting for the phone (I asked only twice for it).
The first night we came back at 4, after 10 minutes ringing the bell we decided to look for an open back-door, that we have found. We have then found the concierge sleeping and our key on the reception desk. We were late the other nights, too, but the concierge was awake (1st night experience was mentioned the morning after).
The buffet breakfast was below average, lunch menu looked interesting but we didn't have chance to try it.
